Penalty Kill Unit Getting it Done
Opposing teams have found it difficult to score on Elmira’s penalty kill unit over the last 10 games. In those 10 games, opposing teams are 0-for-33 on power play chances. The last time EC has gone as many games without surrendering a power play goal was during the 2003-04 season when Elmira did not allow a power play goal in 10 straight games from October 31, 2003 to December 6, 2003. The 2013-14 team’s streak is perhaps more impressive as the 2003-04 penalty kill unit went 0-for-29 during the 10 game stretch.
