After a few weeks against non-conference opponents, the Soaring Eagles return to their ECAC West schedule with a pair of conference games this weekend at Oswego State. EC has a 6-0-0 record in conference play this season and with 12 points, the women enter this weekend in third place behind Plattsburgh State (16 points) and their opponent, Oswego State (13 points).

For the Second Straight Week

Lisa Marshall ’14 recorded her third shutout of the year against Stevenson University last Saturday as EC picked up a 5-0 victory. Her performance between the pipes earned her a second consecutive ECAC West Goaltender of the Week award, the third time she has received the honor this season.

Starting Strong

The first period has been kind to the Soaring Eagles, especially as of late, as EC has recorded the most number of goals in the first period than either of the other periods. At Stevenson, Elmira held a 4-0 lead at the end of the first period, marking the second time this season that the women put four goals on the scoreboard in the opening frame. The other instance occurred on November 15th in an 8-3 win at SUNY Potsdam.

Three Point Performances

Both Ashley Ryan ’15 and Tanis Lamoureux ’14 recorded three point games last time out against Stevenson. It is the third game this season in which both Ryan and Lamoureux have recorded three points in the same game, the others coming against Utica College on November 9th and against Williams College on November 23rd.
