Empire 8 Conference Opener

Over the last 12 seasons, Elmira has gone 4-8 in Empire 8 Conference opening games. EC’s most recent conference opening win dates back to the 2007-08 season when Elmira downed Hartwick College, 63-54. However, in the last 12 seasons, Elmira has opened Empire 8 Conference play against Nazareth two times, splitting wins with the Golden Flyers with EC’s victory occuring in the 2005-06 season.

This is the New Year

With 2013 in the rear view mirror, Elmira will look to begin 2014 on a high note as they eye their third straight victory in New Year games. Over the last 12 seasons, Elmira has gone 7-5 in the first games of the New Year.

Zoltowski Moves into Second Place

With 25 points in Elmira’s win over Clarkson University, Jessica Zoltowski ’14 took sole possession of second place on Elmira College’s all-time scoring list. With a career total of 1,211 points, Zoltowski becomes just the third player in EC history to score 1,200 points.

Double-Digit Scoring Streak

Zoltowski has scored double-digits in each of the first six games of the 2013-14 season and dating back to last year, the senior has eclipsed the double-digit threshold in 13 straight games.

Efforts off the Bench

Elmira’s bench played a key role in their win over Clarkson. Carlene Fields ’16 and Alex Balara ’15 each added five points. Fields also assisted on a basket and had a block while Balara pulled down seven boards, made three assists, and had one steal. Breen Loney ’14 also contributed with four rebounds and one steal.
