Last Time Out

Elmira is coming off an 84-69 loss to Clarkson University on December 6th. The Purple and Gold trailed by just one point with 8:25 left in the game, however, the Golden Knights would close on a 19-4 run to finish the game.

Welcome Back Alex Elmira’s top returning offensive option from 2013-14, Alex Balara ’15, made her season-debut against Clarkson on December 6th. Balara led the Soaring Eagles with a career-high 24 points and tied a career-high with five assists. She now has six games in her career with five steals.

Two Players With 20-Plus Adding to Balara’s 24 points against Clarkson was Danielle Cleary ’18 who also scored the most points of her career with 21 points. This is the first time the Purple and Gold have had two players turn in 20plus point performances since former standouts Jessica Zoltowski ’14 and Maria Thannhauser ’14 both poured in 22 points against St. John Fisher College on December 7th, 2012.

Double-Digit Streak Danielle Cleary ’18 extended her double-digit streak to five games against Clarkson after dropping 21 a season-high points. She now averages a team-leading 14.6 points a game and ranks fifth in the Empire 8 Conference.

Loya In Rebounding Meghan Loya ’16 leads the Purple and Gold in rebounding with 10.4 rebounds per game. She ranks third in the Empire 8 Conference and 35th in the nation in boards per game.
