director’s note Dear stakeholders, friends, and community members, As we embark on this journey through Goff's impact report, I am filled with a sense of pride and purpose. At Goff, we have been steadfast in our commitment to transform the landscape of education and workforce readiness in an ever-evolving business industry. In a world where 51% of Gen-Z employees feel unprepared for the professional realm, our mission stands as a beacon of hope and progress. We are here to redefine the very essence of how individuals contribute value. From high school students taking their first steps into the world, to seasoned C-Level executives navigating complex challenges, we empower them all to not only adapt to real-world challenges, but to thrive in them. This past year alone, our efforts have resonated deeply. We engaged with a staggering 727 students, a testament to the impact we are making. To put this in perspective, in 2019-20, we engaged with just 40. This exponential growth underscores the resonance of our approach and the need for change in education. Our reach now spans across 56 different majors on campuses, a testament to our broad and inclusive approach to learning. This diversity of disciplines mirrors the dynamic nature of the professional world, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this shift. The true measure of our success, however, lies in the stories of our graduates. Over 230 individuals, armed with the skills and confidence cultivated at Goff, are now making waves in various industries. Whether at tech giants like Microsoft, financial powerhouses like Goldman Sachs, or continuing their education at esteemed institutions like Yale University, our alumni are a living testament to the transformative power of our programs. As we reflect on these achievements, let us not lose sight of the horizon ahead. Our intent for the future is clear—to continue pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and equipping individuals with the tools they need to not only succeed, but to lead with confidence and purpose. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey. Together, we are redefining the future of education and workforce readiness. Warm regards,

Dr. Ruchi Watson, Managing Director

FEATURED RESEARCH

strategic leadership conference JANUARY, 2023

Attendees from 15 universities and countries including the Netherlands and Italy engaged with new research around the nuanced dimensions of strategic leadership, and refined their own research through discussion and feedback. “There are some very serious scholars in the field, and it has been very interesting to have the opportunity to share my work - especially work in a relatively new domain, and get their feedback to understand how to shape it in a way to make it way more powerful.” -Conference participant

STUDENTS

We equip individuals to tackle real-world challenges, embrace ambiguity, and challenge the status quo. From high school students to C-Level executives, we foster confident, strategic leaders at every level. Goff does this by facilitating 9 Undergrad, Grad, and Exec Ed courses; 3 annual leadership programs; plus customized workshops, engaging events, community gatherings, and more.

11

ETHAN BLACK CLASS OF 2022

Ethan began his Goff journey in the first cohort of Trailblazers where he worked with Esusu Financial, a FinTech company using data to bridge the racial wealth gap and recently named one of Forbes 30 under 30 for Social Entrepreneurs. Drawn to their mission and commitment to their vision, he remained in contact with Esusu which eventually led to an internship with them in New York City.

Ethan has now begun his full-time career in Chicago, working for Stripe. He writes that his experience with Goff “was the embodiment of my collegiate experience, and continuing that into my career brings immense excitement and motivation to excel the mission of Goff in all phases. As we would say, the Goff Community is a family, and our efforts to cultivate relationships don’t stop at graduation, but continues to be a pillar that all of us can rely on throughout our careers.”

Ella Bailey was tasked with evaluating the Policy Project’s Student Ambassador Program, which rallies students together to engage with local policy work. Through data collection (surveys, focus groups) and analysis, Ella recommended a redesign of the program to more effectively engage the student ambassadors.

"Ella's analysis of our Student Ambassador Program and her research-driven recommendations will benefit our organization for years to come!" - Brooke Gledhill Wood, Director of Legal & Operations at The Policy Project.

Pathfinders welcomed Alyssha Dairsow, founder of Curly Me!, to share her leadership story. Alyssha expressed the importance of welcoming pivots in life and listening to the needs of your community to make the biggest impact. This approach led her from a career in sports medicine to empowering and creating community for Black girls in Utah.

“I love having opportunities to speak within academic spaces. Speaking about Founding and continuously learning always gives me a rush of energy and joy.” Alyssha Dairsow, founder of Curly Me!

Trailblazers worked with The Other Side Academy to assess options for their next social enterprise; these businesses allow TOSA to continue supporting and providing dignified wages for unhoused community members. The students ultimately recommended a new business idea: creating and selling succulent arrangements and less than 1 year later, those arrangements are ready for purchase.

After his experience in Explorers and Trailblazers, Yash Vyas was hired to plan events for perspective Goff students. Yash embraced the challenge and developed Casebusters, a creative workshop where prospective Goff students take a real classroom project from a community partner and break it down over an hour with help from Goff students.

Yash demonstrated value creation by bringing Goff elements of hands-on learning, realworld problem solving, and teamwork to interested students to truly demonstrate what Goff is all about.
