OUR MINISTRIES: • We participate in many projects that benefit people in our area. Emmanuel founded and still heavily supports the Douglas County Food Shelf. We have several ongoing service projects through which we reach out to charities and missions both locally and in the greater community. • We have Godly Play-based Sunday school, Bible study and seasonal activities. Several times a year, we have meals for anyone who is looking for good food and friendly people. • After church each Sunday, we have an informal coffee hour where we get to know each other better. OUR HISTORY: • Emmanuel Episcopal is one of the oldest churches in Alexandria. It was founded in the fall of 1859 by Bishop Henry Whipple. Like many frontier churches, services were held in homes. • The first church building was consecrated in 1875 at the corner of Fifth and Fillmore. The building was used until the current church building was constructed in 1966. We invite you to come and worship with us.
