The Alexandria football team (1-4) capped off homecoming week in front of a packed crowd at AAHS on Sept. 30 by playing a close game against Brainerd in a game that the Warriors won in the closing minutes by a 15-14 final. Alexandria led 14-0 early in the fourth quarter. Junior running back Andrew Flaten had a touchdown run, and sophomore kicker Daniel Jackson added two field goals of 25 and 52 yards. His 52-yarder tied him for the third longest field goal ever made in Minnesota State High School League history. The Warriors rallied over the final seven minutes of the game. Senior quarterback Marcello Getty threw two touchdown passes, and Brainerd added an Alexandria safety to secure the 1-point win to improve to 4-2 on the season.

HOMECOMING

The Brandon-Evansville football team (3-2) celebrated its homecoming by winning a nailbiter in the fourth quarter against Ortonville (2-3) on Friday night. The Chargers jumped out to a 30-14 lead and then held off an Ortonville rally in the final quarter to win 30-28. Ryland Yeats ran for two touchdowns and three 2-point conversions. Micah Fuller added 99 yards rushing and a passing touchdown to Stephen Hamilton.

Logan Haburn led the Brandon-Evansville defense with 10.5 tackles as the Chargers now look for their fourth straight win when they go to Rothsay (2-3) on Oct. 7 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

HOMECOMING

The Osakis football team (4-1) finished off homecoming week on a good note with a 45-0 victory over the Parkers Prairie Panthers (1-4) on Friday.

Silverstreaks scored on their first possession of the game with homecoming king Tyson Hagedon scoring on a short run. With 28 points scored in the second quarter, Osakis led 35-0 at halftime and scored 10

second half. The Silverstreaks scored five rushing

one passing touchdown in the win.
