Wedding Dresses
you can dance in They may look striking, but many wedding gown styles restrict your movements, making it hard to dance. Here are some things to consider if you’re shopping for a wedding dress you can move freely in.
light fabric
A flowy dress made of a lightweight fabric is sure to be comfortable enough to dance in.
separates
Choose an elegant halter top or corset and select two different bottoms. Wear a long tulle skirt to imitate the look of a ball gown for the ceremony and swap it out for a shorter style for the reception.
tea length
There’s no rule that says a wedding gown must be long. Choose one that ends just below your knees for a vintage style you can move in.
reception dress
Choose a second dress that’s easier to dance in for the reception. This is a great option for brides who don’t want to have to choose between two looks. If you absolutely love a ballgown or a mermaid-style dress, choose one that can be modified throughout the day. Bustling a long train or removing a layer of tulle may be all you need to dance the night away.

How to choose the perfect
WEDDING DRESS Choosing a wedding dress can be both exciting and nerve-racking. To help you create the look of your dreams, here are a few tips.
make a plan
Before you try on a single gown, make a list of the criteria you’re looking for in a wedding dress. Do you want a certain cut, style or length? Do you want to show off your shoulders or hourglass figure? Establishing some criteria will allow you to narrow down the choices.
try on sample gowns
The first step is to make your rounds to various gown shops and try on the samples they have available. Most sample sizes will not be the size you wear every day, so expect them to be ill-fitting. Do not be discouraged. Once a gown is chosen, the dress shop will take your measurements and order the gown according to the manufacturer’s sizing guide. Again, this can be shocking, since the size will likely be larger than what you
wear in street clothes. Some shops will also order a little larger to allow for adequate tailoring.
try different styles
After the first fitting, you may realize that the dresses that look good in pictures aren’t the right fit for your figure. Don’t worry, your consultant can suggest other styles until you find the dress of your dreams. Additionally, keep in mind that all wedding dresses need to be altered. Therefore, don’t be dissuaded if a dress is too long, short or loose.
use props
In addition to your list of criteria, bring along pictures of dresses to show to the bridal store consultant. They can use the information you provide to quickly find several different gowns for you to try. Whether you decide to buy or rent a wedding dress, choose the one that ma kes you feel most beautiful. For inspiration, visit your local bridal stores.

Want a second opinion?
Bring along someone you trust who knows your style and can give you honest feedback.
A wedding dress for One of the most important factors to consider when searching for the perfect wedding dress is what silhouette will best flatter your figure. While the consultants at a local bridal boutique can offer more personalized recommendations, here are a few
tips for some common body shapes.
hourglass
Show off your natural curves with a sheath dress or a mermaid gown, and accentuate your chest with a sweetheart neckline.
every shape pear shape
Choose an A-line or ballgown silhouette to accentuate your natural waistline, and balance the full skirt with a boat neckline or cap sleeves.
rectangle
Create a sexy silhouette with a bias cut or fit-and-flare dress in a lightweight fabric, and opt for a V-neckline and low back.
inverted triangle
Balance your proportions by pairing a high neckline and long sleeves with a slit or asymmetrical skirt that emphasizes your legs.
round
Opt for the flowing skirts of an empire-waist gown, and provide support for your chest with a boat neckline and an elegant off-the-shoulder look.

groom trends As brides pull out wedding books and scour the pages for their perfect dress, selecting colors for the bridesmaids and tweaking the floral design of their bouquets, thoughts of the groom’s attire for the wedding sometimes get left on the back burner. But, just as there are wedding gown trends, there are also new styles and colors each year to help the groom stand out on his big day. Here are a few of those trends for the 2022 season.
contrasting buttons
Never out of style, a black tuxedo is classic and timeless. But if you’d like to bring a little extra flair to that tux, why not try a shirt with contrasting buttons? Those pops of black will show even more when paired with a bowtie.
shades of red
Burgundy, red or wine, especially in darker shades, give a big pop of color, yet are still easy to pair with any other colors in the wedding and make a big statement.
for the 2022 season tweed for all seasons
Another classic style – tweed – is a sophisticated look, but wearing a heavy fabric in the summer is a no-go. If you love the look of tweed, but don’t want to be weighed down by the prickly fabric, try a tweed waistcoat or jacket paired with a lighter fabric in trousers.
large checks
Oversized checks are trending this season, giving the well-dressed groom a sharp, but relaxed image.
waistcoats with wow
Want to wear a traditional style suit or tuxedo for your wedding, but want to make a statement? Add a waistcoat with wow! Bring in a contrasting color or print to make people sit up and take notice.
cream to beige
If you’re looking for a great way to give your summer wedding a casual, yet sophisticated look, check out suits in off white, beige or cream. These neutral shades are also perfect for a destination wedding.
tailored suits
Still the favored style for grooms, the slim-fit suit will fit snugly, but comfortably, with a tapered fit at the waist and ankle.
mini-prints
On the other end of the spectrum from large patterns, microprints will give a finished look to any suit. Pairing these small patterns with solid colors in both the waistcoat and slacks will keep everything upscale and eye-catching.
8 The Wedding Guide Winter 2022
accessorize
Brides and bridesmaids have had shoes dyed to match their dresses for many years, but now grooms can add that same flair to their wedding day wear. Matching your shoes and belt exactly to the shade of your suit or tuxedo will add a sleek look to your attire.

Beautiful
wedding cake statements
Are you looking for some ideas on how to make a statement with your wedding cake? Here are some of the top cake trends expected for 2022.
pressed flowers
COVID restrictions and shutdowns have caused a shortage of florals for many florists, and many couples are using pressed flowers as an alternative on their cakes. The flowers give cakes a delicate design while still adding color.
single tier cakes
For couples who are choosing smaller celebrations, deconstructed wedding cakes are making a splash. Two, three or even four cakes – all single tiers – allow for easier transportation and storage in home refrigerators. It also allows couples to have more variety in their cake designs if they wish.
bold hues
Rich colors, strong textures and even metallic colors will make this year’s wedding cakes stand out, leaving behind the pale, muted tones of the past as couple look to make statements with their choices.
pillared tiers
Another return to years past is the return of pillars to separate cake layers. The space between layers can either be left empty for a clean look, or filled with flowers or fresh fruit. The pillars will lend even more height to a beautiful cake.
back to sugar flowers
The return of sugar flowers as embellishments for a wedding cake will see a big uptick in use this year, especially in more subtle colors and even single tones. They can be used in conjunction with dried and/or fresh flowers to adhere to a more natural style.
many minis
Opting for cupcakes or mini versions of a traditional wedding cake is a trend that continues from the past few years. This version of the cake gives couples a chance to use more than one flavor or color, all while making dessert safer for guests during these uncertain times. Other couples are stepping even further away from traditional by serving decorated donuts or other single-serve desserts.

Tips for finding the right A couple’s wedding day is typically broken into two parts: the ceremony comes first, and the reception follows soon after. Wedding venues are where the bulk of the day will unfold, and couples can consider these four tips to find a venue that suits their needs. 1. Consider your theme and wedding style. Most couples know which sentiments they want to convey during their weddings. The venue should match the theme so the entire wedding will feel connected to the space. A modern wedding, for example, will be at home in an art gallery or warehouse. A wedding with natural elements may work better on a ranch or in a botanical garden. Zeroing in on the wedding style helps narrow down potential venue options. 2. Assess the budget. A couple may find what seems
to be the perfect venue, only to realize that the cost of the space doesn’t fit their budget. Ampersand Travel says the venue accounts for the most significant wedding expense, at an average cost of $9,000. Finding a venue that will maximize dollars spent involves looking at what is included. Rentals for chairs, linens, lighting, a dance floor, and other extras can quickly add up. Couples should have a set limit they’re willing to spend on the venue and let that dictate the location.
wedding venue days will have to begin the search earlier than couples with no attachment to a particular date. Concessions may need to be made if a certain date is a must.
4. Estimate the size of your guest list. Price, date and style will factor into wedding venues, but the number of guests also is a major consideration. A trendy restaurant may seem like the perfect locale, but it must be able to
accommodate everyone on the guest list. Couples should sit down with their families and come up with a list of potential guests and look for a venue that can accommodate everyone. Couples also should visit potential venues in person to see which, if any, details might be missing from online or magazine advertisements. A host of factors, including accessibility, should be considered when looking for a venue.
3. Availability of the location. When a couple wants to get married may determine their venue options, especially if they’re planning on a budget. September and October are now the most popular months to get married, so venues will book up quickly during that time of year. Those who have their hearts set on specific

microweddings
A result of the pandemic, this trend is still rising The effects of the COVID19 pandemic have been far-reaching. People from all walks of life have had to confront the pandemic and the changes it wrought, and many of those changes could have some staying power. Wedding industry experts note that one of the more noticeable and potentially long-lasting effects of the pandemic has been the rise of microweddings. The 2020 Real Weddings Study (COVID19 Edition) found that 58 percent of couples who planned to get married in 2020 ended up reducing their guest list by a significant percentage. The average reduction was 41 percent, and some suspect small ceremonies may be the new normal in the years ahead.
microweddings
Microweddings are not necessarily a new trend, as couples have always had the option of getting married with only a small number of family and friends in attendance. However, microweddings could be an emerging trend, and cost may have a lot to do with that. The Wedding Planner Institute notes that microweddings cost anywhere from $1,600 to $10,000, though the group notes that most microweddings fall somewhere in the middle of that range. A 2020 survey from TD Ameritrade found that 47 percent of respondents felt that cost of living was the biggest threat to their financial security and long-term investments.
What goes into a
microwedding
Nothing should be off the table when planning a microwedding. The fewer the people who will be there, the more freedom planners and couples may have. The WPI notes that microweddings afford planners and couples the chance to get personal in ways that may not be possible when organizing larger affairs.
Planners can focus on small details and allow couples to make their ceremonies and receptions as personal as they would like. Couples who prefer microweddings tend to emphasize minimalism, so keeping things simple is something to keep in mind when planning microweddings.
12 The Wedding Guide Winter 2022
Engaged couples confronting the well-documented post-pandemic increase in cost of living, including an unprecedented rise in housing costs, could see expensive weddings as luxuries they simply can’t afford. Microweddings could be viewed as a cost-effective way to combat the rising cost of living that still allows couples to share their big day with their closest friends and family members. The WPI has urged wedding planners to offer microwedding packages in an effort to capitalize on this emerging trend. Data from The Wedding Report indicated that the total number of weddings would rise to 2.77 million in 2021, an increase of roughly 650,000 over the yearly average. Even
if only a fraction of couples who tie the knot in 2022 opt for a microwedding, a preexisting microwedding package can help wedding planners secure their business. Couples who opt for microweddings may do so to save money, but also to avoid the effort and save the time required to plan more lavish affairs. Such couples may be especially excited to work with wedding planners who can plan their weddings regardless of how small the affair may be. Microweddings are an emerging trend that make for a realistic option for couples and the people they hire to help them plan their big day.

Unique locations to host a wedding When tying the knot, couples continue to do so in familiar venues. Houses of worship, hotels and country clubs remain wildly popular wedding venues. Couples who want to stray from that norm often look for unique locations to say ‘I do,’ and there’s no shortage of special spots to do just that.
rooftop venues
Few backdrops inspire the awe of city skylines, especially when couples wait to get hitched until night has fallen and buildings have lit up. Rooftop restaurants and bars have undergone a resurgence in recent years, and these facilities are tailor-made for city-dwelling couples who want an enviable backdrop for their nuptials. Many such establishments are even affiliated with hotels, which can simplify wedding planning.
museums
Couples who want their guests to take a stroll through history before they watch the happy couple stroll down the aisle can consider tying the knot at a local museum. Many museums offer a variety
of ceremony and reception options. The vaulted ceilings and airy quality of many art museums make them an ideal place to host large gatherings. The unique decor of such facilities guarantees couples will get some awe-inspiring photos on their big day.
vineyard/winery
Oenophiles will no doubt love the idea of getting hitched at a vineyard or winery, but even people without a taste for wine can appreciate such locales. Sprawling fields and expansive skies make vineyards and wineries an ideal place to tie the knot, and guests will no doubt enjoy the unique surroundings.
stadiums
Couples who first bonded over their love of a particular sport and/or favorite team can incorporate that into their nuptials by getting married at a stadium. Professional and collegiate teams typically offer wedding and reception packages, and guests may appreciate the once-ina-lifetime opportunity.
historic homes
Another go-to option for history buffs, historic homes and mansions can make for memorable places to get married. Such homes tend to have a classic appeal, making them ideal for couples who want traditional weddings that call to mind ceremonies of bygone eras.

#ourwedding How to utilize
social media
Young couples tying the knot today grew up with social media, so it’s no great surprise that so many want to utilize various platforms when planning their weddings. In fact, the Brides 2018 American Wedding Survey found that 87 percent of brides turned to the social media platform Pinterest for inspiration when planning their weddings. On the surface, modern wedding ceremonies and receptions may look similar to the nuptials of yesteryear. However, engaged couples have increasingly incorporated social media into their weddings, and the following are some fun and creative ways to embrace that trend. Create a social media photo booth. Guests may take more pictures at modern weddings than the photographers who were hired to document the happy couple’s big day from start to finish. Social media boards are digital screens that display social media walls. Live event social media boards collect and curate content from social media channels and display it on a single digital screen. Users, in this case a couple’s guests, simply use
in your wedding
a predetermined hashtag when posting photos and the images are then displayed on digital screens in real time. This can be a fun way to engage guests during the reception.
Live stream the wedding. Live streams became very popular during the pandemic, when couples getting married had to pare down their guest lists in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. But live streams can continue to be used after the pandemic, as there will always be guests who can’t make it to the wedding. Facebook Live was a go-to social media platform for live streaming weddings during the pandemic, and it can be utilized to involve loved ones in the festivities even if they can’t be there in person. Live streaming via social media may be especially useful for couples who want to enjoy destination weddings, which tend to be small affairs due to travel constraints. Hashtag the wedding. A couple-specific hashtag can serve as something akin to a wedding album, only it’s
one everyone can easily access via the couple’s chosen social media platform. Encourage guests to hashtag photos from the wedding so everyone can have a good time looking back on the ceremony and reception once the day has come and gone.
Plan with your party. Social media can be as fun, inclusive and useful when planning the wedding as it can during the wedding itself. Brides and grooms can create their own private Pinterest boards and share them with the wedding party. Everyone can then use the private board to bounce ideas off each other. Couples can infuse a little fun into the Pinterest board by encouraging their groomsmen and bridesmaids to post outrageous outfit ideas or submit singalong song requests to be played during the reception. Social media is a big part of modern couples’ lives, so it makes sense for them to find fun ways to incorporate various platforms into their weddings.
brunch receptions: an emerging wedding trend It’s becoming increasingly trendy to host a wedding brunch instead of a dinner. If you’re planning your big day, here are a few good reasons to consider having a brunch reception.
an early event
Do you find it hard to stay up until the wee hours of the morning? Are you inviting several seniors or young children to your wedding? Do some guests prefer not to drive at night? For all of these reasons, a morning wedding might be a

great option. This way, everyone will be in high spirits from start to end.
an irresistible menu
Contrary to what some people say, brunch doesn’t have to be simple or pared down. In fact, you can serve up a variety of fancy hot and cold dishes, including: • Local cheeses • Belgian waffles • Dauphinoise potatoes
• Salmon gravlax • Duck breast • Eggs benedict • Fruit cocktails • Game sausages • Niçoise salad • Viennese pastries
If this trending wedding idea appeals to you, find out if the restaurants, reception halls and caterers in your area offer a brunch menu.

photo tips for a picture perfect day Few things document weddings more effectively than photographs. Carefully curated wedding albums and portraits hung on walls serve as daily reminders of a couple’s special day. Photography is often left in the very qualified hands of professional photographers. However, couples can pitch in to make their photos really pop. These picture pointers from industry insiders can help couples put their best smile forward.
leave ample time
A carefully orchestrated timeline can ensure photos are the best they can be. Why? Because a couple who is relaxed and not overwhelmed will notice that attitude translates to their photographs. When planning wedding timelines, couples should leave ample opportunities for getting dressed, chatting with the wedding party and going through various photography settings to grab great photos, advise the experts at Martha Stewart.
put together a short list
The photographer will have his or her ideas of which shots to cover, but a couple with specific goals in mind should relay that information to their photographer. For example, if a grandparent is getting up in years, request some solo photos of that person so you can look back on happy times together. Certain couples want to be snapped posing with a beloved pet. Putting that on the list helps ensure it will happen.
enlist a family photo coordinator
If the photographer does not have his or her own assistant, recruit someone who is assertive to help wrangle everyone for the family shots. Attempt to get family photos when family members are relaxed but not too far rumpled by dancing or having a good time.
play your style safe
A wedding day is not a time for the bride or groom to try a dramatic new style, according to photographer Aman-

da Lamb. Resist the urge for a daring cut or color. It’s also likely not the place to try out new facial hair or heavy makeup. A couple unaccustomed to the way they look may be shy in front of the camera.
delve into the details
Prepare wedding details, like gowns, shoes, accessories, etc., in advance to save time once the photographer arrives, suggests Desi Mendoza, a pro from Dez and Tam Photography. Invest in a beautiful hanger for the wedding gown as well, because you may want to photograph that on its own.
learn to pose
Couples can practice posing in front of mirrors to get a feel for body positions that put them in their best light. A photographer’s advice in regard to posture is invaluable as well. Create space between arms and the body and learn how to angle the body so you look your best. Photos will capture wedding day memories forever. Couples can put themselves in the best positions for success by following some photography guidelines.
wood wedding ring
is the way to go. Indeed, the texture and pattern of each wood ring is unique. These wedding bands can be made solely of wood or plated and inlaid with other materials. Durability. Wood rings are durable but not indestructible. Ideally, they should be made of a hardwood, such as oak, to ensure they can withstand years of wear. Price. Wood rings can vary in price depending on the chosen materials, finish and design. For example, gold plating
and precious stone inlays will drive up the cost. However, wood rings are far less expensive than traditional gold wedding bands. Fit. Wood rings aren’t malleable and can’t be resized. Therefore, it’s important to know your ring size so you can ensure you get the right fit. To find the wood wedding ring of your dreams, visit your local jewelry stores.
Involve your dog in your wedding If you’re getting married and want your pooch to be a part of the wedding, here are three ways you can incorporate your canine companion into the big day.
as a ring bearer
Place your wedding rings in a small box and attach it to your dog’s collar. During the ceremony, call your dog to the altar or have someone guide Fido up the aisle to present the rings.
as a guest
If some of your other guests have dogs, you may want to set up a fenced-in area where all the pooches can play to gether. However, it’s probably best to place this area away from the main party.
Remember, your dog should look their best for your big day. Consider making an appointment with your pet’s groomer. Prepare a grab bag for your dog with their treats, bowls, toys, food and anything else you think they might need. It’s also a good idea to designate someone to take care of your pooch during the day’s events.

be smart about beauty preparation
Certain beauty basics and makeup and hair strategies can help any bride look spectacular on her wedding day. The following are some do’s and don’ts of wedding day beauty preparations.
DO employ the services of a professional hairstylist and makeup artist. Professionals have the experience and tools of the trade to help you to look your best. From contouring to make your face seem slimmer to enlarging the appearance of small eyes, some tricks of the trade are best left to the pros. DON’T forget to schedule a trial run. Make this appointment several months before the wedding day so you have ample time to work with your stylists and experiment with colors and hair arrangements to fit your personality and the style of your gown. Take plenty of pictures and notes so you will remember what needs to be on hand for the wedding day. DO allot enough time for the wedding day beauty appointment. If you will be going to a salon, block out two or more slots instead of one. This way the stylist does not overbook and will not feel rushed. Many brides opt to have stylists come to their homes. There may be an extra charge for this service, but it may be well worth the cost.
DO bring a veil, headpiece, hair extensions, and any other accessories to your hair consult. This enables the stylist to practice working with these items.
DON’T tweeze or wax brows too close to the start of the ceremony. Redness and swelling are common side effects of tweezing and waxing, and they can be difficult to mask with makeup. Instead, take care of hair removal a day or two prior to the wedding. DO experiment with any products you haven’t used before to test for allergic reactions and see how well they wear. DON’T forget that men need a little help as well. Exfoliation and moisturization can help dry skin. Guys should use a new razor and plenty of cream before shaving to avoid irritation.
Let Kyle Serve You!
DON’T wear too much under-eye concealer or one that is too light of a shade. This can draw more attention to problem areas than remedy them. DO wear a little extra makeup than you are accustomed to wearing because it will show up better in photos. However, do not wear so much that you look clownish. A makeup artist can help you achieve the right balance. DON’T make any drastic changes to your appearance right before the wedding. This includes changing your hair color or texture, extreme tanning, using colored contact lenses, or chopping off all of your hair. It’s better to wait until after the wedding to change your style. DO exfoliate your skin prior to the wedding. This doesn’t necessarily mean you should endure a harsh fruit acid peel or another procedure. You can exfoliate with a gentle washing of your skin with a nubby washcloth to remove any dryness and errant flakes. Moisturize well to ensure a smooth palette for makeup application. DON’T have bridesmaids wear makeup that is bolder than yours, especially red lips. No one should upstage the bride.

Many resorts have begun to offer wedding packages that include complimentary services of an on-site wedding coordinator to take care of all the essentials – marriage license, cake, officiant – and take the stress off you. The coordinator can organize activities for your guests or arrange for spa services. If no complimentary coordinator is on site at your destination, you can hire a coordinator to take care of all the details and avoid unnecessary headaches.
not all can come
Don’t be surprised if some of your loved ones can’t make it to your wedding. While it may not be a problem for all of your guests, it’s important to understand that a jaunt to Europe, a week-long all-inclusive trip to the tropics or even a weekend in the next town over isn’t in everyone’s budget. People might find it hard to get
time off from work and older guests may have difficulty traveling.
remove stressful family situations
A smaller invitation list allows you to invite just your closest family and friends or no one at all, if that’s what you choose. You can avoid inviting those family members that no one can get along with.
long distance complications
Selecting a destination that doesn’t offer wedding services may leave you struggling through red tape to arrange wedding details long distance, especially if it is in a foreign country. Even another state may have different rules for getting a marriage license. Hiring a coordinator who specializes in destination weddings can help you navigate the hurdles that can come with the locale.
less expensive reception
Having a smaller guest list can mean spending less money than on a traditional reception near your home. One thing to remember, though, because the reception
might cost less, you still need to factor in the expenses of traveling and possibly paying for the guests’ hotel rooms, food and some other expenses. If money is a concern, look at countries that have a favorable exchange rate, or even domestic locations.
multi-day affair
Be sure to show your guests you appreciate them traveling to be with you by organizing a few group activities for them, either before or after the wedding. You can plan a welcome breakfast, for example, or an excursion to take in the local sights. Also, think about how you’ll transport wedding essentials to the destination. If you’re traveling by plane, it’s best to pack wedding attire, rings and gifts in your carry-on bag.

Flowers for a Winter wedding flowers can take their inspiration from the white and frosty weather, with icy-looking greenery, and white blooms and gray accents, but can also go bright and beautiful. Below are some ideas inspired by FTD and Teleflora florists.
red and white
Winter weddings make you think of Christmas and what is more reminiscent of the season than red and white? And there’s more than just the traditional red roses and poinsettias – think burgundy peonies, anemones, ranunculus, amaryllis, tropical ginger, winter holly, and oxblood dahlias. White can be found in hydrangeas, gerpoms, tulips, snapdragons, fancy carnations, orchids, peonies and dahlias.
winter wedding All these pair beautifully with the frosty-looking Dusty Miller leaves or hypericum berries and juniper boughs for a fresh look.
neutral
If you prefer to stay with a more subtle bouquet, consider starting with garden roses. Their large blooms and high petal count make an eye-catching statement as the main focus of your bouquet. Soft-colored peonies, Queen Anne’s lace, sweet peas, hellebore and white anemones can give your bouquet a soft ethereal look.
rustic
There are so many unusual touches that can be added to a bouquet to give it that wild and rustic look, such as lotus
pods, fiddlehead ferns, succulents, dried artichokes and dried vines. Pair any of these with ranunculus or mini roses, then fill with plenty of wild greenery such as seeded eucalyptus and grasses. There are some great wild-looking flowers to choose from, including semi-cactus dahlias, protea and cushion daisies.
go bold
Is bold your style? Part of the lily family, the amaryllis might be your go-to flower and are available in red, burgundy and pink. There’s also clematis, which comes in a variety of colors, from soft white to yellow to light and dark purple as well as bright red and dark burgundy. Scabiosa, also known as pincushion flowers, come in a variety of colors such as burgundy, blue, white pink, lavender and red. An unusual flower, the anemone, comes in bright red, pink, magenta, purple and blue and are bold and beautiful in a bouquet.
greenery
There are a multitude of greens that can be incorporated into winter bouquets. Evergreen sprigs like pine, cedar and blue spruce bring in the winter feel, with eucalyptus varieties such as seeded or silver dollar, or traditional ivy or ferns are all excellent choices. Add some unique touches like viburnum berries, pine cones or acorns for your own particular touch.

The benefits of using
local vendors Local vendors are a smart choice when planning your wedding ceremony and reception. Once you make the decision on where you will hold your wedding, you can begin to look at local vendors. Being familiar with the area, local vendors will be able to handle the tasks involved with the wedding without needing directions. Wedding photographers, for instance, will know the best places to stage photos, while other vendors most likely have preexisting relationships with representatives of venues, keeping your wedding day less stressful. Shopping local also ensures more personalized service, as well as more individualized attention, than you might find with larger retailers. Keeping your wedding local allows your vendors to meet with you more frequently to make sure that your wedding is the way you want it to be. It also makes dropping off deposits, attending meetings, and making fitting appointments easier.

How to perfect your
wedding day makeup
All eyes are on the bride on her wedding day, and all cameras are too. Here are some makeup tips to ensure you look your best.
Be yourself
Your wedding isn’t the right time to try out a new look. Instead, strive for a slightly enhanced version of the makeup you normally wear. For some, this may be
dark eyeliner and a bold lip and for others, it may be a natural but radiant look.
Do a test run
Try out your wedding day makeup in advance. If you’re doing it yourself, run through applying it a few times. If you’re hiring a makeup artist, schedule an appointment a few weeks before the big day. Doing a test run will ensure you’re happy with the results.
Use the right products
Even if you’re not usually the emotional type, plan for tears on your wedding day. Opt for waterproof mascara, quality liquid foundation and lipstick that won’t smudge. Don’t forget to pack a kit that includes concealer, blotting papers and your lipstick for touch ups throughout the day.
How to achieve a classic, natural look If you’re going for a classic look, here are some tips on how to create a beautiful, but still natural look.
rosy hues
Hues from burgundy to soft pink, the rosy colors are perfect and complement every face. Try using a soft color on cheekbones, but add in classic ruby red lips.
dewy skin
Avoid matte foundation on your special day; instead, opt for more luminous skin and an all-over glow.
bold eyebrows
Bold brows have been in style for a few years and still look good today. Striking shaped brows will give your face an unforgettable look.

bandeau hairpieces/ headbands
Accessorizing hair with bandeaus and headbands that glitter give the bride a Meghan Markle-inspired look. Not as strong a statement as a tiara, but still brings to mind a regal feel.
relaxed hair
Softly gathered hair or half-upsweeps with a few loosely hanging tendrils give brides a relaxed, no-care look. Intentionally messy hairstyles give you an effortless look.
waves/low bun
Big waves and curls will give you a more glamorous look for your wedding, while the low bun paired with a statement necklace will show off the neckline of your gown.
