These charities all raise money for protecting people against disease. Write down 5 countries that you think they work in.

1. A disease is a condition that causes the body or parts of the body to not work normally. 2. Everyone is 100% guaranteed to get a disease at some point in their life. 3. Some diseases are caused by infections, others are caused by parts of the body malfunctioning e.g. autoimmune diseases 4. There is a cure for every single disease. 5. Everyone who has a disease receives treatment for it from a doctor. 6. Cholera, rabies, pneumonia, hepatitis, malaria and HIV/ AIDS are all examples of disease. 7. You will die from every disease. 8. The world’s biggest killer disease is pneumonia. Four million people die from it each year. 9. Some countries have bigger problems in controlling disease than others. 10. HIV/ AIDS is the worlds biggest killer. Five million people die from it each year.




Tuberculosis: Affects the lungs, but it can also affect organs in the central nervous system. The disease was called "consumption" in the past because of the way it would consume from within anyone who became infected.
