At the Conference EMCC Ireland will present preliminary findings of its recently conducted research on the status of coaching in Ireland. This is the first time in-depth research on the Irish coaching sector has been undertaken.

Registration and Coffee / Tea Introduction and Welcome Ms Paula King, President, EMCC Ireland A Rich Perspective on Goals in Coaching Professor David Megginson, EMCC Ambassador, Author & Emeritus Professor of Human Resource Development, Sheffield Business School Introducing the ideas that have emerged in preparing the book on goals David has edited with Susan David of Harvard University and David Clutterbuck. In particular he has absorbed something of the wisdom of Bob Kegan, Ed Deci, Tony Grant and others in coming to a rich and powerful new understanding of the place of goals in coaching. Irish Economic Outlook - Opportunities for Coaching & Mentoring Mr Brendan Butler, Director of Policy and International Affairs, IBEC In the 2012 World Bank "Best County to do Business" report, Ireland ranks 10th out of the 200 surveyed. In a recent IBEC survey, 80% of members stated they expect to increase their turnover by 2016. The people employed in the growing sectors require knowledge based skills but not just within their own industries. They need to appreciate the importance of continually learning, of thinking outside the box and of strong interpersonal skills.
