A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
A little over a year ago, CV Luxury was only an idea. We wanted to create a brand that would make a continued difference in the lives of our readers and advertisers. We have so much to be grateful for as we kick off the New Year. The unwavering community support has been overwhelming. Everyday I receive notes and emails from our readers and advertisers thanking our staff for all they have brought to the pages of each issue. Every edition has been a labor of love and I am so pleased to announce that we are expanding our distribution for 2015. A more detailed list of distribution locations can be found on www.cvlux.com. We’re ringing in the New Year with a fabulous cover story on supermodel, author and soon-to-be-mom Molly Sims. Molly was a true delight on set and I am so happy that we were able to tell her story within the pages of this edition. Internationally renowned photographer Jeff Vespa shot the spread for us and the stunning images can be seen beginning on page 58. When I think of the New Year, my mind goes instantly to fitness and wellness. We’ve profiled some of the latest trends to kick your workout into high gear (page 30). If you’re looking for a way to jumpstart your diet, check out all the latest detoxes profiled by our resident fashion guru, Lauren K.T. Wilson (page 33). If fitness really isn’t your fashion, then we have some great ideas on how to freshen up your home this New Year (page 36). Asher Corey profiles a contemporary abode and shows how you can mix ‘n’ match your own accessories to tell a new and exciting story, carrying your decor through 2015. On the multimedia front, you may notice some changes to our website. This year, we will be adding a more in-depth blog section to keep you up to date on all the latest trends and happenings on a daily basis. This is just another way we intend to engage our readers beyond the print edition. Expect these changes to be rolled out by early spring. And speaking of spring, I am so pleased to announce that our March cover story will profile everyone’s favorite Beverly Hills housewife, Lisa Vanderpump, as we hang out at her private residence, Villa Rosa. So let this New Year be one for the record books, and thank you again for all your continued love and support.

PAT LaROCCA High Profile
INTERVIEW ANN T. SULLIVAN WHITEHURST
CV Lux interviewed Pat on a rainy afternoon as he scurried about his restaurant, visiting friends, asking about their food, making suggestions for an order, smiling and just being the wonderful host he’s always been known to be! Occupation: I have always been in the restaurant business. My first job was at my uncles’ restaurant — the original DiCicco’s on Blackstone, with the neon Italian boot out front. In 1980, my dad and mom opened LaRocca’s, located at First and Herndon. I worked there until I opened my own current restaurant, FIVE, in 2005. FIVE is located at 1110 E. Champlain in Fresno. Birthdate: I was born on 10/17/1960 in Detroit, Michigan. My family moved to Fresno when I was seven. Yes, that means I am a trueblue Libra. As a Libra, I love harmony, enjoy
color, make good and loyal friends, and especially like entertaining people in my restaurant to see that they always feel at home and welcome. Marital status: I have been married for over 22 wonderful years to my wife Marina. We had our very first date (I remember it as if it was yesterday) at a small little restaurant called The Copper Pot, on the corner of First and Ashlan in Fresno.
Favorite color: Blue Favorite game: There is only one and that is “Craps.” I don’t play very often, as I’m pretty busy, but I play in Vegas! What stays in Vegas is not for me because I have to get back to Fresno to work! Every New Years I resolve to: Try to lose weight!
Last good movie I saw: The Fighter starring Mark Wahlberg.

When I have some extra money: I splurge and go on vacation
Favorite pig-out food: Oh boy, it has to be Judy’s Donuts. I love those donuts!
Worst habit: Eating late at night
021
Best party I gave: Always has to be Christmas at my home every year with my family. Menu for last meal: Given that I am here
at my restaurant 90% of the time, it would have to be my fresh pasta and a nice glass of red wine!
Favorite city outside California: I
throwing pizza dough into the air with great delight. It reminds me of them whenever I have it... I love pizza!
Best advice I ever got: “The harder you work the luckier you will get.” -Bucky Harris of Fresno Dodge

UP TO THE BAR ADVERTORIAL
HEAR HOW THREE MOMS ARE SETTING THE BAR WITH THE BAR METHOD
Lauren Hoekstra (Studio Manager and Instructor at The Bar Method Fresno) finds out exactly why these women chose The Bar Method and how it works with their lifestyles.

ADVERTORIAL
MOM-TO-BE KRISTIN SAFIAN
Why did you choose The Bar Method Fresno over other workouts in the Valley? I have several friends who became pregnant at the same time as me. They joined The Bar Method and loved taking classes! I was 11 weeks pregnant when I went to my first class… and I was hooked! I love that The Bar Method is low impact while sculpting the body. The instructors are amazing and their priority is to help the students improve. The classes are motivating. I saw results even with my growing belly. I see the instructors in each other’s classes all the time, taking them as students. It is such an inspiration to see!
What is your favorite Bar exercise and why? I love anything that works my core, which is pretty much every exercise we do, but my favorite are the abdominal strengthening exercises. I heard they really help when it comes to the delivery of my child and how my body will recover after. Will you continue The Bar Method after you deliver your baby? Is that even a question? ABSOLUTELY! Once my doctor gives me the approval, I will be back to the grind. I love it, I am hooked, and I can’t wait to get my pre-baby body back already!
How has The Bar Method affected your pregnancy? In just a few words… SO MUCH ENERGY! Trust me, being pregnant can be challenging at times. I would rather stay in bed! But, The Bar Method is a great place to be, and the energy I gain from taking the classes has helped me tremendously throughout the last eight months. I feel so good after each class and can last the whole day without getting tired. I just LOVE it! It helps provide me with a healthy and strong pregnancy. What do you like best about The Bar Method Fresno? Oh gosh… so many things! First, the atmosphere: I love the ambiance of the studio. It’s always nice to be greeted by name when you walk in the front door. It’s very welcoming! All of The Bar Method team truly cares about each one of us. The instructors are so sweet, motivating, helpful and willing to help me modify the exercises when needed.

LAUREN HOEKSTRA, STEPHANIE STONE & KAYCIE WALL
POST-BABY TALK WITH STEPHANIE STONE
Why did you choose The Bar Method Fresno over other workouts in the Valley?
Have you noticed changes in your overall presentation on-air since doing the Bar workout?
My main interest in Bar was to get back in shape after having my first child. My first class was at the end of June. My daughter Mia was 15 weeks old. I was hesitant, as I’d heard how difficult The Bar Method is, but the structured setting offered one-on-one assistance. I found the instructors to be extremely helpful for students of all levels. It was perfect for my return to fitness.
Absolutely! After nine months of pregnancy, I felt as if my body was weak and limp. I was nervous about going on camera when I came back from maternity leave… I thought I looked different. Bar woke up muscles I didn’t know I had, and consequently it only took a few months for me to be able to fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes… which felt amazing! I’m still nursing my daughter, which has helped with weight loss, but it doesn’t shape your body. People often ask how I’ve been able to “drop the baby weight” and I answer in three words: The Bar Method!
How has The Bar Method Fresno changed your post-baby body? There are too many changes to list! It’s corrected my post-baby posture and re-strengthened my back – both of which I desperately needed. No one tells you about the muscles you’ll need AFTER you have the baby – things like carrying that awkward car seat and repeatedly bending over to pick up the baby. The Bar Method not only brought my muscles back to life, but I feel stronger and so much more capable when I carry Mia around.
What is your favorite Bar exercise and why? Pretzel. It used to intimidate me and I used to hate it... which is why I now love it! It’s such a particular, intricate and precise pose – the slightest movement can affect muscles in completely different ways. I don’t think I’ve “perfected” it by any means, but I can lift my leg up off the ground (finally!) and I can take the arm challenge, which feels like an accomplishment.
How do you manage a newborn, working out and looking beautiful as a newscaster on ABC? I don’t sleep! In all honesty, while my sleep has suffered because I’ve got an eight-month-old, I find The Bar Method extremely energizing. It’s become so much a part of my routine that I miss it when I miss class. I go three to four times a week – on my days off, and in the morning before work. While those days are crazy busy, my husband is hugely supportive... and I think jealous that he doesn’t get to go as often as I do! Bar gives me the extra energy I need to keep up with my action-packed and deadlinedriven career. 027

MOMMY OF TWINS KAYCIE WALL
What do you like most about The Bar Method Fresno? The Bar Method is unlike any other fitness regimen I’ve tried. The Bar Method’s targeted approach transformed my body in ways I never could have imagined – especially after having three children. My core is stronger, my posture has improved significantly and, as a runner, my endurance and speed have both increased. The teachers are well trained and knowledgeable about all aspects of the exercises, and I appreciate the precision that they bring to their instruction. I feel like a valued member of a community as opposed to just another gym member. When did you start with The Bar Method? Although I had taken a few Bar classes in the Bay Area over the years, I didn’t start attending Bar Method classes regularly until July 2013, when my twin daughters were about six months old. I needed something to get my body – and spirit – back, and I was eager to try something different. So, when I learned that Jennifer had started conducting training classes in her home that were limited only to a select few, I begged, pleaded and downright stalked her until she relented and allowed me to attend. I’ve been a Bar Method devotee ever since! Tell us a little about your job, your children and how you manage to be so diligent at The Bar Method with your schedule. I am a commercial litigation partner of a large international law firm and commute from Fresno to my office located in Palo Alto. My husband is an anesthesiologist in Fresno. We have a son Oliver, who is four, and twin daughters, Sydney and Vivian, who are two. Our professions and our lives can be stressful, and it
and it takes a lot of coordination and cooperation to keep things running smoothly. We are indebted to our family and friends who regularly pitch in to help and support us when unexpected hearings, depositions, and on-call shifts arise. So, although extra time is not readily abundant, I make sure that I make time for The Bar Method whenever possible. I especially enjoy the early morning classes because they set the tone for my entire day. The Bar Method Fresno is a kind of sanctuary for me – it’s a place where I can be mindful, grateful and centered. And it doesn’t hurt that the studio is so beautifully appointed and serene – more like a spa than a gym! What is your favorite exercise and why? Arabesque. Interestingly, if you would have posed this question about six months ago, this is the last exercise I would have named – I found it extremely challenging. But, with time (and hands-on coaching from The Bar Method Fresno instructors), I have seen my form improve and have become quite fond of this exercise. Arabesque targets so many muscle groups in one fell swoop. I’m increasing my back flexibility while strengthening my obliques, seat muscles and quads. As a busy professional and mom, I appreciate an exercise that can multi-task!

TO CLEANSE
OR NOT
TO CLEANSE...
T H AT IS THE QUESTION.
STORY LAUREN K.T. WILSON
Ah yes, the holidays are over and New Year’s arbitrary tradition of resolutions are in full swing. Although January detoxing is as cliché as those lackluster promises of gym memberships after the gluttonous debauchery that accompanies the more festive times of the year, I feel my body craving healthier, lighter food. Well, okay, that’s not completely true. I suppose I should more aptly say that after a holiday season spent mostly eating and drinking, the only possible way I can surmise to stop this indulgent pattern is to jump on the sensationalized bandwagon and see if what all these celebrities blog about actually works. So, out of pure curiosity and perhaps a desire to see if I can undo some of the celebration damages, I am going to (gulp) do a cleanse. I should preface this soapbox statement by pointing out a of couple things: first of all, there are an insane number of detox/cleansing options out there and every one of them claim to be the best. Secondly, the majority promise to benefit not just the body, but also the mind (which I am struggling to see as possible when each one of them strips away my right to enjoy my favorite food and drinks… not that I’m saying that I’m an emotional eater or anything). And lastly, I am not 100% sure I have the willpower to complete any of them. All that being said, at the end of the day I don’t deny that there is perhaps room for improvement in my lifestyle and, well, you have to start somewhere. At this point, cleansing and juicing is practically mainstream, and has gone over and above being a trendy fad. In fact, with boutique juice shops popping up everywhere and supplies for cleanses readily available to order online, they’ve become so ubiquitous that, despite their mostly exorbitant price tag, consumption has extended beyond celebrities to us regular folk. I have more than a handful of friends that drank the Kool-Aid (juicing humor), and they all claim to have feelt better, looked brighter and yes, dropped a couple pounds. If they can do it, I should be able to do it, too… right? So, in acknowledgment of health marketers’ savvy promotion skills, in conjunction with my new compulsion to detoxify my body and boost my immune system, I suppose the most logical way to prepare for this “new year, new me” journey is by picking a cleanse and giving it the old college try. Literally, there are countless detox diets out there so the first challenge is narrowing down which is the right one for you.

The Cleanses… A snapshot list of types and names
The Master Cleanse, The Clean Program, Juice Cleansing, BluePrint Cleanse, Love Deep, Urban Remedy, Juice Press, Life Juice, Juice Hugger, Organic Avenue, Cooler Cleanse, Liquiteria, The Squeeze, Suja, Juice to You, Can Can, Living Greens, iZO, Red Carpet Cleanse, The Four Elements Colon Cleanse, Apple Cider Vinegar Cleanse, Skin Cleanse, Model Detox Diet, Candida Cleanse, pH Cleanse, Immune Booster Cleanse, Liver Cleanse, Brown Rice Cleanse, Heavy Metal Cleanse, Ayurvedic Cleanse, Arise & Shine Cleanse, Fat Flush, Kidney Cleanse, Parasite Cleanse The Skinny… A brief breakdown of a few of the more popular options The Clean Program This 21-day diet, created by Dr. Alejandro Junger, is based on his fundamental belief that our bodies need a way to purge the toxins that we’ve picked up from food and the environment. Somewhat reminiscent of the meal replacement shakes diet, you drink a chocolate or vanilla shake twice a day and take program-approved supplements. However, you are allowed a lunch made from a pre-approved list of foods (his diet bans a laundry list of foods: dairy, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, gluten, nightshade vegetables, soy and peanuts). The Clean Program also offers some serious support via community sites, free wellness coaching and daily emails. Who’s done it? Gwyneth Paltrow (who created a spin-off program, the Goop cleanse), Donna Karan, Mariska Hargitay, Demi Moore
BluePrint Cleanse
The Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox
BluePrint’s detoxifying approach also takes into account your lifestyle. Besides getting to choose how long to participate in this cleanse, you also get to select which level is right for you – renovation, foundation or excavation (a.k.a. beginner, middle of the road, paste eater) – and your juices vary from there. Depending on which you decide, drinks include everything from cashew nut milk to green juices and fruit. You get six juices a day, drink them in numerical order, and for some, there is even an option for the Juice ‘til Dinner program, which involves a combination of vegan and mostly raw meals and juice. Who’s done it? Olivia Wilde, Bethenny Frankel, Julia Stiles, Jessica Szohr
This cleanse claims that you will lose 21 pounds in 21 days, if you spend 12 hours a day taking hourly doses of vegetable and fruit juices, digestive enzymes, herbal teas and soups. Creator Roni DeLuz, a registered nurse, says she came up the liquid diet while trying to heal herself. The program has either a two-day, seven-day or 21-day plan that all involve drinking a certain liquid every two hours. DeLuz recommends a 21-day detox annually, a seven-day cleanup each season and a weekend detox every week.
The Master Cleanse Without question – one of the most well-known cleanses. This three to 10-day program seems to be a celebrity favorite, not just because of the promise to detoxify your body, but also because it’s a great way to ditch a few extra pounds. It’s essentially a fasting plan and involves drinking six to 12 glasses daily of a maple syrup/lemon juice/water/cayenne pepper lemonade while ending each day with an herbal laxative tea. Who’s done it? Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Beyoncé David Kirsch’s 48-Hour Supercharged Cleanse Built around the philosophy “If you’re chewing, you’re cheating!” this two-day intense detox comes with instructions to sip slowly. The plan of this cleanse involves subsisting on several glasses of a drink made up of ingredients such as acai berry, milk thistle, Vitamin B12s, cranberry extract and more. MODERN MINIMALISM WITH A REFINED TOUCH A minimalistic approach to design can be overwhelming to some homeowners. Over the years, I have slowly embraced the style, putting my own twist on the Jonathan Adler approach to living. There is something I find calming about the structure and simple design found in modern architecture. Strong lines and geometric patterns tend to anchor each space, while light accessories commonly grace the shelves and tables. As you flip through this series of photographs, I hope you become inspired to create something new and different in your own home.

You can even add a glass break sensor so no intruder will go unnoticed. You’ll be able to unlock or lock your front door with the touch of a button, either from your wireless remote or from your mobile device with front door keyless entry. You can control and monitor the locks electronically even when you’re not at home, making it a snap to lock and unlock for a handyman or for the kids. You’ll even be able to remotely open and close your garage door on days when you forget.
The keypad at the garage main door is mission control for your Tech-Smart home. Conveniently located at the interior door to the garage, it gives you control of your security system, lights, locks, thermostats and more, all at your fingertips. The automated thermostat is programmable with your patterns and adjusts accordingly. It can cool things down for you before you get home without having to run all day, and automatically turns on and off depending on your schedule. Hate coming home to a dark house? You can adjust the lights in the great room from your mobile device so you’ll feel safe walking through the door. You’ll also be able to schedule lights while you’re away to give the house a lived-in look. You’ll store up to 100MB of surveillance video while you keep a close watch on your home with the camera in the great room. You can adjust the angle, and also review footage anytime, anywhere on your mobile device. Your Granville home is built Eco-Smart from top to bottom, with every last detail geared toward efficiency. reducing your air conditioning costs by 10% to 30%. Of course, your costs will already be shrinking with the super-efficient heating and air unit installed in your home. You’ll no longer have to worry about hearing the neighbor’s son practicing on his new drum set. The formaldehyde-free, blown-in wall insulation provides better performance than insulation used in most new homes. Paired with the 2×6 wall system, your home exemplifies peace and quiet. Your home’s exterior is efficient and eco-friendly as well. Although it’s not required, Granville will sheath the exterior walls of the entire living space to provide additional structural strength and to reduce air infiltration. The doublewrapped exterior walls and insulating foam provide protection from excess moisture. Hate how your drapes and carpets fade in sunlight? Your High Value Vinyl Low E windows, which provide a great level of protection, greatly reduce the amount of heat transferred into your home, preserving your furnishings and saving you money. Get ready to say so long to cold showers with the tankless water heater. It heats water only when needed, not 24/7 like the average heater. This reduces the energy usage and provides endless hot water, even in large, busy households.

Granville’s focus isn’t just to save you money – it’s also to provide a cleaner environment for your family. The EPA states that Volatile Organic Compounds are the leading cause of indoor air pollution, which is why Granville uses Low VOC paints and stains. Not only do these paints provide maximum performance, they also dramatically reduce toxins.

Your landscaping and irrigation system are part of the Eco-Smart equation as well. Granville’s landscape design team groups drought tolerant, native plant species with similar water needs in the same watering zone to reduce water usage. And the solar sync auto-adjusting irrigation system senses the weather and automatically adjusts your sprinklers accordingly, saving water and providing your yard with optimal irrigation. Throughout the building process, between 80% and 90% of the construction waste is sorted and recycled. Granville is always working to find additional ways to increase that percentage and reduce stress on our nation’s landfills. All of these Tech-Smart and Eco-Smart features are designed to make your home more efficient, so you can have more and time and money for the things that matter most. The Super Smart decision is easy: let your luxury home do the work for you while you save money and stay secure.

The development of the general concept, project design and engineering process until construction took one year. High speed construction took another year and a half. In the end, we got an interior that captures a multitude of styles, all designed to offer a seamless collection of textures, colors, shapes and materials. A green wall in the living-dining space brings nature indoors and a small terrace just above it allows a fantastic view of the mirrorframed ray-textured wall displaying the TV and sound system. Living area also features numerous details like the concrete wine rack with the Braille type dots, embedded in the kitchen wall or stone poufs and a red MAERSK container (guest bathroom) that give the living space a unique character. All ceiling light has been substituted with a giant Artemide lamp and two vertical spotlight projectors filling the area with reflected smooth illumination. The green wall continues down to the lower floor, where a loungehome office space and a second living space lead to the spacious master bedroom joined with a bath right behind a bed back. In order to hide the master bedroom toilets, authors invented a mobile wooden box stylized as a large parcel. All neutral colors except for red and green oxidized copper sheets, serve as hidden shelf facades. An open rooftop terrace is lined with geometric floor lights and features monolith bar and a fireplace, handmade terrace plank benches and a glass pavilion for winter leisure.

What was your first big modeling campaign? What do you remember about the experience and how did it shape your career?
You are naturally stunning. What is the one product you simply can’t live without and why? Any thoughts on aging? Why thank you – that is quite a compliment! After over 20 years of trying and testing different beauty products, I really can’t limit my favorite to just one. But I will say that Natura Bissé La Creme is a great investment. I add a dollop of it to my foundation or tinted moisturizer to get that instant dewy look. I’m also loving the EVE LOM primer. I’m known for my sun-kissed glow. And in January, my new beauty line, Molly Sims Beauty, will be publishing four chubby sticks. They’re a multi-faceted product that gives me an instant glow. From my lips to my cheeks to my eyes, it doesn’t matter what look I’m going for, this is definitely my go-to beauty staple.
I hate to sound cliché, but back in the day, Sports Illustrated was the gig that put your name with a face. Through that opportunity, I got jobs for MTV’s House of Style, Cover Girl and Old Navy. Tell us a little bit about your upcoming book, The Everyday Supermodel: My Beauty, Fashion and Wellness Secrets Made Simple, which comes out on January 15. What will surprise readers most about the book? What do you hope people take away from it? The book isn’t about turning you into a supermodel. It’s about teaching you how to be the best you you can be. From how to eat to how to dress to how to do my makeup, I’ve learned so much over the years, and I’m excited for the opportunity to share my tips and tricks with others.
What is your most favorite trend for winter? What would surprise us about your closet? I love all of the mélange sweaters I’m seeing – I even blogged about it! I just got one from Isabel Marant. I plan to live in it all season long. I think that some people are under the impression that if you’re in the public eye, you don’t wear outfits more than once. But that couldn’t be less true for me! I still wear pieces that I’ve had for 20 years. And when I’m out shopping, if I try something on that I don’t think I could get a ton of wear out of, I won’t buy it. It doesn’t matter how inexpensive it is!
Who is your favorite designer to work with and why? I love Jenna Lyons from J.Crew. I love Phoebe Philo from Celine, and Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen, even though I can’t always afford their stuff. When I want to be a French Hippie, I turn to Isabel Marant. And when I can’t afford any of the above, I rely on Zara for all things designer-inspired.
What inspires you on a daily basis and why?
Everyone wants to know how you stay in such great shape, especially after having a baby. What are some of your favorite workouts? Do you have any diets that you swear by?
My son Brooks! When I watch him, I can literally see him absorbing everything around him. Every day he speaks more and more. It’s so exciting!
Staying fit isn’t easy. It takes time and commitment! But the more I work out, the better I feel. I’m a big believer in switching up my exercise routine. Whether it’s doing Pilates, the Tracy Anderson Method, Soul Cycle, or just hiking outdoors, I try to do something different every day. I love working with Rebecca Baer from Baer Nutrition. She focuses on a crafting a well-balanced diet with an emphasis on fiber and lean proteins. She teaches me how to eat meals that keep me slim while still feeling full and satisfied.
How did your decisions in your 20s help mold who you are today? The best advice I got in my 20s was “don’t be afraid of change.” Change can be scary, but it brings new opportunities – good and bad – and it’s hard because you don’t know what’s going to happen. But it’s those changes that have made me who I am today. For instance, getting into Vanderbilt was the hardest thing I’d ever achieved in my first 18 years of life. And then, all of a sudden, I was asked to go to New York and model from one day to the next. Four months after that, I moved to Europe for six years. I eventually transitioned from modeling to hosting to acting – all of which were big changes I was anxious about at the time. But it was those leaps of faith that shaped my career into what it is today. And just a little note… work gets work. Saying “yes” is easier than saying “no!”
You are expecting baby number two. What names are sticking out in your mind? Do you know if it is a boy or a girl? Any plans to take some time off of work once your little one arrives? We’ve been so busy, we haven’t even thought about names! And we’re keeping the sex a surprise. When I had Brooks, I moved my office into my home. It makes it easier to take “mommy breaks” and I’ll definitely be taking a lot more of those when the new baby arrives.
063
Your career is going in so many directions. Do you have any other ambitions? Yes! I always tell people to “never stop dreaming” and I try to take my own advice. I have a giant notepad in my office. Every time I get a new idea for a project, I write it down. Where did your fear of flying come from? I’m from Murray, Kentucky – a tiny little town in the Bible Belt where the nearest airport is two hours away. By the time I was 18, I had only flown once in my life! When I started modeling and had to fly a lot for work, flying was a bit of a big, scary and unsettling experience. I even developed weird superstitions to calm my nerves. But now, I love flying – especially alone. It’s one of the only times when I really get to sit down, relax, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Do you believe in New Year’s resolutions and what were yours this past year? I do believe in them and I swear I’m going to stick by them every year. Like every girl, I promise to “work out more, watch my weight more and just do everything better.” Clearly that doesn’t always happen, but I definitely try! When you think back on your life, did you ever think you would have become such an international success in the world of modeling? What was the first runway show you ever did? Did you get any pointers from your colleagues? When I first started modeling, my agents sent me to Europe to get some more experience under my belt. I spent the next six months just trying to earn enough work to pay them back for my ticket! I always dreamed big, but I can’t say I ever realized the amazing adventures my career would take me on. I’m so grateful! One of the most exciting things I ever did was walk the runway for Alexander McQueen in six-inch heels, walking on cobblestone around a stripper pole. Trust me, that wasn’t easy. But I will always cherish that experience I had working with him and he is forever missed.
What is your favorite brand of cosmetics? It really depends on the beauty product in question, but I love Nars, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and EVE LOM. What app do you use the most on your phone? I know it may sound like a shameless plug, but I actually just created an app for my website, MollySims.com, which I’m really excited about! I update the site every day with my new discoveries in fashion, food, beauty, DIY projects and everything in between! It’s definitely a passion project of mine and I’m very proud of it… I also love Waze. Here in LA, traffic is inevitable so I’m all for an app that makes it more bearable. What do you hope your children learn from you? Respect, that you can do anything you want in life and being grateful. What is your most valued possession and what makes it so important? My charm necklace. It contains charms for everyone in my family – even my dogs! It’s a way for me to keep them close to my heart at all times. What is your biggest regret and how would you handle things differently knowing what you now know about yourself? In my 30s, I was co-dependent with a boy. And I regret that time I wasted. Don’t be afraid to leave someone that isn’t good for you.
