En el sector del transporte el empuje de países como China y de empresas como Tesla en sistemas de propulsión eléctrica, supondrá una revolución, como aquella impulsada por Henry Ford a inicios del siglo anterior. We entered in a new century that grows exponentially at the same rate as the population grows, basically by the quality of life and improved conditions of humanity. In the transport sector, the push of countries such as China and companies like Tesla in electric propulsion systems will be a revolution, such as that promoted by Henry Ford at the beginning of the previous century.

Arriero is a vehicle inspired by a character from Andes mountains, who carried mules and horses to transport goods between complicated terrains. The person involved in these tasks was called “El Arriero” and was in ancient times, one of the few figures that could carry loads. This project was presented at Michelin Challenge Design International Transport Design Competition, organized every year. It was 2nd place in the theme “Mobility for all” of the year 2016, focused on the mobility in remote places. Its main function is to improve the conditions of transportation in the still sheer contexts of the center of Colombia and to improve the rural works.

Arriero es un vehículo inspirado en un personaje de las montañas de los Andes, que arriaba mulas y caballos para transportar bienes entre terrenos tan complicados. Aquella persona involucrada en estas labores se le denominó “El Arriero” y fue en tiempos ancestrales una de las pocas figuras que podían realizar estas arduas labores. Este proyecto fue presentado en el concurso internacional de diseño de transporte Michelin Challenge Design, organizado cada año. Fue 2do puesto en el tema “Mobility for all” del año 2016, enfocado en la movilidad en sitios remotos. Su función principal es mejorar las condiciones de transporte en los todavía escarpados contextos del centro de Colombia y mejorar el trabajo realizado en el campo.

Arriero vehicle for one passager that has cargo spaces. Its parts can be exchanged and the vehicle can be assembled depending on the needs of the user, including: amount of load, type of terrain, distance traveled in relation to work, purchasing power, taste, etc. It was designed with tires that are farthest apart from the central body, first to receive the loading platforms of agricultural production, which will be transported to the processing and marketing points and, second, to create stability in the complicated terrains. The “naked” product configuration and the visibility of parts allows easy assembly, part layouts visibility and more feasible production.

Arriero, es un vehículo uni personal eléctrico que dispone de espacios de carga. Sus partes se pueden intercambiar y el vehículo se puede armar dependiendo de las necesidades del usuario, entre ellas: cantidad de carga, tipo de terreno, distancia recorrida en relación al trabajo, poder adquisitivo, gusto, etc. Se diseñó con llantas lo más distanciadas entre sí del cuerpo central, primero para recibir las plataformas de carga de la producción agrícola, que será transportada a los puntos de procesamiento y comercialización y, segundo, crear estabilidad en los terrenos complicados. La configuración del producto tipo “naked” y la visibilidad de partes permite un fácil armado, disposición de partes y una producción de mayor factibilidad.

Arriero, está compuesto por un cuerpo central donde se ubican las baterías eléctricas, que distribuyen la energía a los cuatro motores. Cada llanta está ensamblada por aparte y contiene en su interior un motor tipo brushless con frenado regenerativo.

Arriero, is composed of a central body where are located the electric batteries, which distribute the energy to the four motors. Each wheel is assembled separately and contains a brushless motor e-type with regenerative braking. It also has a system of double suspension of airless type tires, that allows to generate greater stability in the terrain and at the same time eliminates the need to use air in the tires. The motors in each rim allow to manage in a more intelligent way the consumption and traction, besides improving the grip and mobility in complicated terrains.

Dispone también de un sistema de doble suspensión de llantas tipo airless, que permite generar mayor estabilidad en el terreno y a la vez elimina la necesidad de usar aire en las llantas. Los motores en cada llanta permite administrar de forma más inteligente el consumo y tracción, además de mejorar el agarre y movilidad en terrenos complicados.

Esta ha sido una de las preguntas que más se ha hecho el diseñador en su incansable actividad de creación. Analizar tendencias, problemáticas, perfiles, consumidores, contexto, son términos claves a la hora de realizar estudios que puedan llegar a ser lo más fiables posibles, además de brindar desde la raíz, una serie de parámetros que hagan del proyecto una solución factible y sostenible. No es un tema de la esencia del diseñador, entendiendo que la palabra final sea la forma en la cual ha creado y propuesto la solución. This has been one of the questions most made by the designer in his tireless activity creation. Analyze trends, issues, profiles, consumers, context, are important terms when studies that can become as reliable as possible, besides offering from the root, a number of parameters that make the project a feasible and sustainable solution . It is not a subject of the designer essence, understanding that the final word is the way which has created and proposed the solution, but understanding this series of events, it allows, later stages flowing automatically. Below, I will talk about trends in the design sector and transport focused in the near future.

2016 - AIWE Es un dron diseñado para transporte de carga. Su composición base es de tipo “faceted” que ayuda a crear un vehículo resistente, ligero y de fácil producción. Se compone de módulos que permiten cambiar su forma y realizar tareas de mantenimiento y reparación de forma sencilla.

BONBON - 2014 Bonbon is an air purifier. It contains a central station that performs mostly the filtration process, plus two spheres that are placed in other pots to help with the house cleansing at certain other points. But the whole operation is advised by a small drone that can fly through the house and makes periodic analyzes of air quality. The reports are communicated through an app, and it is recommended to the user the location of the spheres and the central station.

The increased flow and density of human activity are given in the cities, that means, dynamics of transport should not be subject to deductions that would be logical, such as the automobile is the most efficient vehicle. A theory was proposed to support the use of single vehicles called “Strategy Mobility”, result of the Kuma project. It seeks to integrate various theories of transport and sustainable mobility, transit-oriented development, micromobility, do the right mix, soft mobility, smart mobility among others, and it proposes the strategic use of transport to choose depending on two items: the circumstances transport and the distance traveled.

El incremento de la población ha hecho que lo urbano tome mucha importancia en el tema de movilidad. El mayor flujo y densidad de actividad humana se dan en las urbes, por lo que la dinámica del transporte no debería estar sujeta a deducciones que serían lógicas, como por ejemplo que el automóvil es el medio más eficiente. Se propuso una teoría para sustentar el uso de vehículos unipersonales llamada “Movilidad Estratégica”, resultado del proyecto Kuma. Esta, busca integrar varias teorías de transporte como la movilidad sostenible, desarrollo orientado al transporte, micro-movilidad, do the right mix, soft mobility, smart mobility entre otras, y propone el uso estratégico de transporte a escoger dependiendo de 2 ítems: la circunstancia de transporte y la distancia a recorrer.

Los recorridos de mayor importancia en las urbes son hasta 10 km después del punto de partida, denominados Micromovilidad. En esta zona los modos más convenientes y de menor impacto ambiental, son los vehículos uni/bi personales, tanto eléctricos o como de tracción humana, y caminar. Otra categoría clave serían los servicios de transporte tanto como para vehículos unipersonales, como para automóviles. Hay que tener en cuenta que la zona de micro-movilidad se reduce con respecto a la densidad de población, así que el mejor campo de acción es en el que hay una mayor cantidad de personas por metro cuadrado. Las circunstancias de transporte pueden ser más y en muchos casos es el principal factor en la toma de decisiones cuanto se incrementa la capacidad adquisitiva del ciudadano. The most important routes in the cities are up to 10 km after the starting point, called Micro-mobility. In this area the most convenient and least impactful modes are the uni / bi personal vehicles, both electric and human traction and walking. Another important category would be transport services both for singleperson vehicles and for automobiles. Koku car is a mixed vehicle (autonomous and drive) and offers a comfortable and spacious interior of the vehicle for cargo and resting. Exterior is friendly in terms of aesthetics to create a context where it is safe and trustworthy for the user.

ROOLA - 2012 Roola is an electric scooter with cargo space, focused on the transport of micro-mobility. Was designed a basic frame to be used in different transport targets in relation to the work area. So, their cover cases could be adapted according to the needs of the business or company (delivery of fast foods, technical installation, other home services, etc).

Environmental pollution caused by the irrepressible industrial and technological revolution of the twentieth century, and other factors such as excessive consumption of resources, production of toxic materials, misuse of many objects (such as automotive), among others, has impacted on the environment and the nineteenth century will be a clear example of this. Since the 90’s until today have begun to propel much of initiatives to help litigate these problems. The environment and nature begin to take important decisions in both design and other fields. But, ¿which is exactly sustainable?, ¿Is the same than ecologic?, ¿how is in transportation sector?.

La contaminación ambiental producida por la incontenible revolución industrial/tecnológica del Siglo XX, y otros factores como el consumo desmesurado de recursos, la producción de materiales tóxicos, el uso indebido de muchos objetos (como es el caso del automóvil), entre otros, ha repercutido sobre el medio ambiente y el Siglo XIX va a ser claro ejemplo de esto. Desde los años 90’s hasta hoy han empezado a impulsarse gran parte de iniciativas que ayudan a litigar este tipo de problemas. El medio ambiente y la naturaleza empiezan a tomar importancia tanto en las decisiones de diseño como en otros campos. Pero, ¿Qué es exactamente sostenible?, ¿Es lo mismo que ecológico?, ¿Cómo es en el sector del transporte?.

Taking a decision in the field of sustainability is to locate something that is affecting or generating a greater environmental impact and seek a solution (if there is an interest to be more ecologic), taking into account that this is immersed in a system in which the balance of the parts is important in sustaining . Thinking about introducing technologies of minimal impact on the environment can be utopian in many cases because it can involve costs, bankruptcy or malfunction of an idea or product, so in this case we would be talking that a systemic thinking is necessary to search better solutions and less impact on the environment. Tomar una decisión en el campo de la sostenibilidad es localizar algo que esté afectando o generando un mayor impacto ambiental y buscarle una solución (si el fin es ser más ecológico), teniendo en cuenta que este está inmerso en un sistema en el que el balance de las partes es clave en su sostenimiento. Pensar por introducir tecnologías de un impacto mínimo en el medio ambiente puede ser utópico en muchos casos ya que puede implicar sobre costos, quiebra o mal funcionamiento de una idea o producto, así que en este caso estaríamos hablando que un pensamiento sistémico es necesario para buscar soluciones mejores y de menor impacto en el medio ambiente. KOKU - 2016 Koku moto propuse a solution of a super simple design of motorcycle with cheap welded tubes that can be manufactured in Colombia, generating a sustainable business model in a context where there is no money to invest in a lot of goods.

ECO DESIGN ≠ SUSTAINABILITY.

MARKET MAKES PART OF THE CONTEXT. DESIGN WITH A LOW ENVIRONMENT IMPACT IS PROFITABLE? Sostenible significa balance y es un concepto general, es diferente decir que es sostenible con un enfoque en la tecnología, o que es sostenible con un enfoque ecológico. Así que no necesariamente significa lo mismo. Dependiendo del enfoque de la sostenibilidad se toman las decisiones. También es claro que la sostenibilidad en campos como impacto social o bienes de lujo son contradictorios con respecto a soluciones normales que buscan entrar en el mercado.

Sustainable means balance and is a general concept, it is different to say that it is sustainable with a focus on technology, which is sustainable with an ecological approach. So it does not necessarily mean the same thing. Depending on the sustainability approach, decisions are made. It is also clear that sustainability in fields such as social impact or luxury goods are contradictory with respect to normal solutions that seek to enter the market.

KUMA - 2016 Kuma is a complete project that propuses a sistematic solution of transportation. In that is presented a series of tools for sustainable analysis useful for environment projects.

BIODESIGN MOHAN - 2012 It is a ship designed for temporary education in the Magdalena river. The exterior appearance is inspired by the jungle context of the rural areas of this river. Some walls are covered with horizontal plantation, and also the bottom part can filter the contaminated part of river with big filters.

¿Porqué decidiste Why did you decided to estudiar diseño? study Design? I always liked to create, draw, and discovered that I had abilities for this. I chose industrial design because I was very attracted to object design, a difference of graphic design and architecture that were my other options ... Siempre me gustó crear, dibujar y descubrí que tenía capacidades para esto. Escogí diseño industrial ya que me atraía mucho el diseño de objetos, a diferencia del diseño gráfico y arquitectura que eran mis otras opciones...

¿Which is your design inspiration mainly? ¿En qué te inspiras a la hora de diseñar? I am very inspired by nature, Colombian culture, colors, life, simple forms. An ideal product is one that offers new solutions and experiences (the same is always boring) within a planned and sustainable life cycle. I do not like ugly objects even if they propose good conceptual solutions. Aesthetics is something complex and subjective, when I say “ugly” object, it means that it does not obey the principles of Gestalt in terms of shape. This is something that I learned from the School of Industrial Design of National University, which has a focus on feasibility, study and design theory, as well as sustainability, contrary to schools like IAAD that give much more priority to practice, understanding the Design as an aesthetic problem. I would think this is due to Italian design, where aesthetics is important, and the country is in a different state of development. In case of Transportation design sector graphic expression is super-necessary. Me inspira mucho la naturaleza, la cultura colombiana, los colores, la vida, las formas simples. Un producto ideal es aquel que ofrece nuevas soluciones y experiencias (lo mismo de siempre es aburrido) dentro de un ciclo de vida planeado y sostenible. No me gustan los objetos feos aunque propongan buenas soluciones a nivel conceptual. La estética es algo complejo y subjetivo, cuando digo objeto “feo”, significa que no cumple con las leyes de la Gestalt en términos de forma. Es algo que aprendí de la escuela de Diseño Industrial de la Nacional, que tiene un enfoque en la factibilidad, estudio y teoría del diseño, además en sostenibilidad, contrario a escuelas como el IAAD que le dan mucha más prioridad a la práctica, entendiendo el diseño como un mero problema estético e inspiracional. Creería que esto es debido al diseño italiano, en el que la estética es algo clave, y el estado de desarrollo del país es distinto. En el caso del sector del Diseño de Transporte la expresión gráfica es algo súper necesario. WALLST

¿Could you talk more about your studies? Cuéntanos acerca de tus estudios... Estudié primaria y secundaria en el Colegio de La Salle en Bogotá. Recién terminaría estudiaría en Alemania, pero mis planes cambiaron. Había pasado a la Universidad Nacional de Colombia después de superar un difícil examen y casi no accedo porque los términos de entrada de este, se habían vencido. Fue una experiencia enriquecedora, buenos profesores en general, pero más que eso gente comprometida con su labor y sus estudios. Estudié 5 años y medio, ya que se me alargó un semestre más el período al tomar la opción de práctica académica, donde trabajé en BigBrandLab, un estudio de diseño bogotano. Allí trabajé en publicidad, investigación, señalización, diseño de interiores, entre otros. Después que me gradué en el año del 2014, seguí trabajando en BBL y estudié italiano en el Centro Italiano de Cultura, donde certifiqué el idioma (B2), con miras a estudiar en Italia. Trabajé en TheSign, otra agencia, pero esta vez como diseñador de producto. Después de pensar mucho decidí entrar en Istituto D’arte Applicata e Design a realizar mis estudios en Transportation Design, mi gran pasión.

I studied primary and secondary in La Salle school in Bogota. I would be studying in Germany after, but my plans changed. I presented to the National University of Colombia after passing a difficult exam and almost did not enter because the terms of entry of this had expired. It was an enriching experience, good teachers in general, but more than that, people committed to their work and their studies. I studied 5 and a half years, since I was extended one semester more the period when I took the option of academic practice, where I worked in BigBrandLab, a Bogota design studio. There I worked in advertising, research, signage, interior design, among others. After I graduated in 2014, I continued working at BBL and studied Italian at the Italian Cultural Center, where I certified the language (B2), with a vision to studying in Italy. I worked at TheSign, another agency, but this time as a product designer. After thinking a lot I decided to go to Istituto D’arte Applicata e Design to do my studies in Transportation Design, my passion.

¿Which are your favorite designers?

¿Quienes son tus diseñadores favoritos?

Varios, pero 3 en especial. El primero de ellos es Arne Jacobsen, arquitecto danés. Me impresiona de él la visión sistemática del diseño y los detalles. Creó objetos muy modernos para la época ,y factibles; combinó la técnica local de la madera chapada para crear piezas únicas y además súper funcionales y ni hablar de su sencillez. Le sigue Chris Bangle, mi car designer favorito, estableció nuevas tendencias en el transportation design, creó unos diseños impecables de automóviles, impulsó la innovación y básicamente creó la identidad actual de la marca de BMW. Y cierra la lista Karim Rashid, me impresiona la forma en la cual manipula las formas simples y crea unas piezas únicas, llenas de colores, movimiento, identidad y vida. Several, but 3 in particular. The first of these is Arne Jacobsen, danish architect. I am struck by the systematic view of design and detail. He created objects very modern for the time, and feasible; combining the local technique of plywood to create unique pieces and also super functional with amazing simplicity. He is followed by Chris Bangle, my favorite car designer, established new trends in transportation design, created impeccable car designs, boosted innovation and basically created the current BMW brand identity. And it closes the list Karim Rashid, I am impressed the way in which he manipulates the simple shapes and creates unique pieces, full of colors, movement, identity and life.

Aparte de diseñar, ¿tienes otros hobbies?

¿Do you have other hobbies?

Yeah right. I like soccer and BMX a lot, they are two very practiced sports in Colombia. I am currently part of the bicicross team Golden, I am a fan of AC Milan. My favorite player today is James Rodriguez, my favorite soccer players ever are Kaká, Pirlo and Ronaldinho; my favorite BMX riders are Mariana Pajón and Mario Soto, two examples to follow. I belong to Colombian Academy of Genealogy, I have done some other research in genealogy. And finally I really like to dance, travel and take my camera everywhere, the photograph could be added to the list.

Si, claro. Me gusta mucho el fútbol y el BMX, son dos deportes muy practicados en Colombia. Actualmente hago parte del equipo de bicicross Golden, soy fan del AC Milan. Mi jugador favorito actualmente es James Rodríguez, mis jugadores favoritos siempre serán Kaká, Pirlo y Ronaldinho; mi corredores favoritos son Mariana Pajón y Mario Soto, dos ejemplos a seguir. Hago parte de la Academia Colombiana de Genealogía, he hecho alguna que otra investigación en genealogía. Y por último me gusta mucho bailar, viajar y llevar mi cámara a todo lado, la fotografía se podría agregar a la lista.

Uno de los canales para mostrar tus capacidades han sido los concursos, de los cuales has ganado una buena cantidad a tan temprana edad. ¿Cuáles han sido? Yes, but it has not been so simple, in Colombia there is much talent and even more an international level. At least I participated in 25 design contests in which the half I have had a prominent participation. I have 6 first positions: Haceb Proyecta 2015; Challenge of Urban Mobility: Berlin, Local Motors 2015, top three by category; PAD Javeriana 2014 Awards; Premios Diseño y Punto Icesi. Another being winner: International Design and Design Award 2015, Best Thesis Universidad Nacional 2015. Three second positions, Haceb 2013, Local Motors 2015, Michelin Challenge Design 2016 and a third place in Mario Hernandez 2012. And Two outstanding entries being finalists in DyP 2015, Haceb Projecta 2014, Chris Bangle contest, Draw of Future 2012, among others. Si, pero no ha sido tan sencillo, en Colombia hay mucho talento y más aún a nivel internacional. Por lo menos he participado en 25 concursos de diseño de los cuales la mitad he tenido una participación destacada. Tengo 6 primeros puestos: Haceb Proyecta 2015; Urban Mobility Challenge: Berlin, Local Motors 2015, tres primeros puestos por categoría; Premios PAD Javeriana 2014; Premios Diseño y Punto Icesi. El diseño es por excelencia una profesión que ayuda a resolver problemas, pero esto no basta para definir lo que es en esencia, ya que generalmente todas las profesiones buscan solucionar problemas. Si es así, ¿Qué nos diferencia ser diseñadores de ser administradores, ingenieros, filósofos, etc?. En este caso y en el específico del Diseño de Producto, solucionamos problemas por intermedio de ideas que resultan en aplicaciones organizacionales y artefactos que se incluyen en todo un sistema complejo, buscando un vaivén entre los mismos componentes de este. Nuestra profesión se balancea entre el utópico, imaginario e incomprensible mundo de la creatividad y el arte; entre la práctica, contundente y depresiva realidad de la ingeniería y física; y entre la interactiva, imperfecta y psicológica humanidad. Decidir y crear equilibrio entre estas tres partes nos lleva a un campo complejo y difícil de batalla en el que la estrategia y la toma de decisiones puede llevarnos a perder o ganar.

Design is par excellence a profession that helps solve problems, but this is not enough to define what is essentially design, since generally all professions seek to solve problems. If so, what differentiates us from being designers of being administrators, engineers, philosophers, etc.? In this case and in specific of Product Design, we solve problems through ideas that result in organizational applications and artifacts that are included throughout a complex system, seeking a balance between the same components of this. Our profession balances between the utopian, imaginary and incomprehensible world of creativity and art; between practice, forceful and depressing reality of engineering and physics; and between the interactive, imperfect and psychological humanity. Deciding and building a balance between these three parts leads us to a complex and difficult field of battle in which strategy and decision making can lead us to lose or win.

Thinking about design does not mean following a series of steps, the important thing is to define those steps in specific groups and know where to start and how to use them strategically. So to think about strategic design is to be methodological and not methodological at the same time according to the circumstances. Understanding is one of these groups, and it seeks in essence to understand how the things that are targeted or supposed to be, are working. Pensar en diseño no significa seguir una serie de pasos, lo importante es definir esos pasos en grupos específicos y saber en qué punto empezar y cómo usarlos de forma estratégica. Por lo que pensar en diseño estratégico es ser metodológico y no metodológico a la vez de acuerdo a las circunstancias. Entender, es uno de estos grupos y busca en su esencia comprender cómo funcionan las cosas a la cuales se apuntan o se supone se están buscando.

2016 - KUMA Kuma, trabajo de grado, fue realizado con un exhaustivo trabajo de campo en el que se identificaron una serie de oportunidades en el sector del transporte de la ciudad de Bogotá. Se realizaron investigaciones teóricas, entrevistas, pruebas, charlas, discusiones, comparaciones, diagramas y uso de herramientas de análisis de diseño e información. Kuma, a thesis work, was carried out with exhaustive fieldwork in which a number of opportunities were identified in the transportation sector of Bogotá city. Theoretical investigations, interviews, tests, talks, discussions, comparisons, diagrams and the use of tools of analysis of design and information were realized.

El éxito no depende de ir atrás de una o pasarse por desapercibido otra, depende de cómo se toma de acuerdo a la circunstancia. En esta sección se busca empezar a materializar la idea en un “servicio”, o “sistema” o un objeto si es el caso. Empezar a bocetar, crear diagramas explicativos, empezar a explorar en 3ra dimensión, realizar modelos, en fin, todo se resume en una actividad neta en 2da y 3ra dimensión, sin preocuparse obligatoriamente en el hecho de implementación, sino de exploración, dependiendo de la estrategia. One of the most difficult stages is to see your ideas realized. This requires an adequate level of detail design, extensive knowledge in 3d programs, technical representation, construction of physical models and base knowledge in production and materials. Interdisciplinary work is practically recommended to generate better results. This section may be a focus on the designer, but does not correspond to the greater strength of the one, who resides in the stage of ideation (B one). Una de las etapas de mayor dificultad es ver tus ideas realizadas. En esta misma se requiere un nivel adecuado de diseño al detalle, un conocimiento amplio en programas 3d, representación técnica, construcción de modelos físicos y conocimiento base en producción y materiales. Es prácticamente recomendado un trabajo inter-disciplinario para generar mejores resultados. Esta sección puede ser un enfoque en el diseñador, pero no corresponde al mayor fuerte de aquel, que reside en la etapa de idear (la B).

Los estilos, enfoques, gustos y formas de ver las cosas no obedecen siempre a un sólo camino para todos, sino un camino que la misma persona construye a su manera y sus capacidades. I must admit that my products have a feasibility focus, ¿why ?, I have no idea, I just know that to ideate something feels good, but it is better of seeing it come true. Styles, approaches, tastes and ways of seeing things do not always obey a single path for all, but a path that the same person builds in his own way and his abilities.

OLLI - 2016 Después de presentar el proyecto de Berlino para el concurso organizado por Local Motors, y ganarlo, la empresa decidió continuarlo. Se realizó un trabajo conjunto con diseñadores, ingenieros y técnicos expertos en la fabricación de vehículos para construir los dos primeros prototipos que actualmente están en prueba en USA y Alemania. Actualmente no sólo trabaja Local Motors en ella, sino en conjunto con otras empresas como IBM, S-Bahn, Siemens y otros.

OLLI, BUS OF THE FUTURE OLLI, BUS DEL FUTURO

If you see a bus without a driver in the streets of Berlin, that could be Olli, a mini bus automated designed by Eddie Mauro and manufactured by the american company, Local Motors. The project is currently piloting for a possible launch in the year 2017. Si ves un bus sin conductor por las calles de Berlín, ese podría ser Olli, un mini bus autómata diseñado por Eddie Mauro y fabricado por la empresa estadounidense Local Motors. Actualmente el proyecto se encuentra haciendo pruebas piloto para un posible lanzamiento en el año del 2017.

Berlino fue el primer nombre de este minibus, quien junto con una versión de cargo ganó en el concurso organizado por Local Motors, en el que se invitaba a los diseñadores a proponer soluciones de movilidad urbana para la ciudad de Berlín. Su diseño se basa en parámetros de diseño sostenible e inclusivo, al plantear un sistema de transporte público.

Berlino was the first name of this minibus, which along with a version of cargo won in the contest organized by Local Motors, inviting the designers to propose urban mobility solutions for the city of Berlin. Its design is based on sustainable and inclusive design parameters, for designing a public transport system.

The development of electronic devices is reaching a point in which they can make their own decisions based on a series of analyzes of data taken from the context. Berlino is an automated vehicle, design-based on a system of urban transport. The vehicle can be requested through an application that captures information from the route planned by user and intersects with route information in real time of the bus fleet. The app tries to find common routes offering solutions to the user who will choose the one that suits your requierements.

Olli, was built by parts between Germany and the United States. It has a chassis in aluminum with parts in carbon fiber and others made in 3d printing. It has a series of sensors that reads information on the outside, and inside has a voice assistant that helps with user interaction. The project is being supported by companies such as IBM, Deutsche Bahn, Siemens, BestMile, among others, and is currently in trial period with 2 prototypes. It is projected to be produced in 2017 in Berlin and Washinton. Olli, fue construido por partes entre Alemania y Estados Unidos. Tiene un chasis en aluminio con partes en fibra de carbono y otras hechas en impresión en 3d. Tiene una serie de sensores que lee la información en el exterior y en el interior posee un asistente de voz que ayuda con la interacción del usuario. El proyecto está siendo apoyando por empresas como IBM, Deutsche Bahn, Siemens, BestMile, entre otras y actualmente está en periodo de prueba con 2 prototipos. Olli funciona con un sistema eléctrico de propulsión, tiene ventanales en gran parte para ofrecer un ambiente amigable y cómodo al usuario. No tiene un sentido fijo de dirección, ya que puede cambiar de sentido con solo un comando, además facilita la maniobralidad de este. Contiene dos sets de luces, unas inferiores que se utilizan para alumbrar el camino y otras largas a los laterales para indicar acciones. El interior esta hecho en gran parte en impresión 3d y puede alojar hasta a 12 personas, de las cuales 7 sentadas. Contiene asideros visibles para la sujeción y protección de las usuarios.
