“I believe it’s really important to have an Open Mind and an Open Heart. I always tell people that I reserve the right to evolve. What I think and say today is subject to revision tomorrow.” 4 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
Laurence Overmire’s “Gone Hollywood” is his newest poetry book to discover the effect of Hollywood culture and value. Gone Hollywood takes you deep down to the details that influence our daily life, but it does not judge anyone or anything as he commented, “a lot of what I write about are the things I see in the world that somehow violate these two ideas. As an artist, I believe it’s very important to look at and confront the dark aspects of human nature in order to learn and to grow, to right the wrongs and work to make this a better world for us all”. His experience as an actor and director leads him to describe Hollywood to us in his perceptive way, but there is more about Laurence. Born in Rochester, NY and raised in Ohio, he has since lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Virginia, Los Angeles, Michigan, Minnesota, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Alaska at various times in his life. He graduated summa cum laude as Valedictorian of Muskingum College, in Ohio, with a B.A. in theatre and a B.S. in psychology. He was awarded a Bush Fellowship to attend the University of Minnesota, where he earned his M.F.A. Laurence won a second Bush Fellowship to become a professional actor with the world-renowned Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis where he worked with prominent directors such as Alan Schneider, Richard Foreman, Garland Wright and Liviu Ciulei. He then went on to a successful career in stage, film and television in New York,
Hollywood and points in between including the Broadway production of Amadeus directed by Sir Peter Hall. Television network soap operas such as All My Children, As the World Turns, and One Life to Live, are a few of his works. He also served as Executive Producer of the Writer’s Lab, a nonprofit organization in Hollywood to promote quality writing in the entertainment industry. He has been involved in teaching of the arts for over 25 years.
“As good people from all over the world, from all walks of life, all cultures and all faiths, come together and work together in love and compassion, the world will be transformed and a new day will begin.” Laurence Overmire

He started writing poetry as his way to capture and reflect his experience, compiling what he refers to as a “diary in art.” Overmire’s profound knowledge of arts gives him an immense perspective on the writing of poetry. But more than anything, Laurence is actively working for peace, justice and a compassionate, sustainable world for the sake of all generations, past present and future. He believes that bringing good and honorable people of all faiths and cultures together is the key to solving the very serious problems that face the human race. Laurence believes in respect for the Earth and all beings. He is an opponent of racism, cruelty, and injustice. Important to Laurence’s philosophy is: “We are One: Respect all cultures and faith traditions.” Laurence is not a supporter of any political party, he believes that each individual is an independent thinker. As he affirmed, “I’m not a political pundit. I’m an artist. I’m a poet. I’m just a guy trying to do what I can to make this world a better place. Truth be told, we are probably much more in agreement on most issues than the labels would lead us to believe.”
6 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
He clearly asks this question in his new book “Gone Hollywood” what is the true impact Hollywood has for us. “And the question that I’d like us to entertain as we listen to (or read) these poems and reflect upon them is this: What effect does the Hollywood culture and value system have on us today? How does it affect each of us in our daily lives? How does it affect our children, our nation and the world?” He has also published several impressive genealogical studies online, most notably “The Ancestry of Overmire, Tifft, Richardson, Bradford, Reed,” which includes the family trees of many U. S. Presidents and European monarchs, and a host of famous statesmen, soldiers, artists, actors, writers, poets, musicians, scientists, inventors, and social reformers.
“Love is the great truth we all know in our hearts and must eventually recognize.” Laurence Overmire
Laurence currently lives in Oregon with his wife, performer and educator, Nancy McDonald.
“It’s very sad that so many attack us when we stand for love and compassion and social justice. That cannot deter us from saying what must be said and doing what must be done.”
“Life is a poem most people never read.” Laurence Overmire

Kathleen Farago May Embracing the sense of the numinous in acknowledging the Oneness.
T
he evolution of my work from drawing to painting, to printing (etchings and silk screens) and finally to digital pain-ting has been part of my life’s adventure. Each medium has allowed me to more clearly express the spiritual impulses that have driven my creative work. The early paintings often expressed a rejection of traditional religious forms. Today’s images are about embracing the sense of the numinous that we feel when we acknowledge Oneness. The range of my themes reflects the fact that
adhere to no single spiritual tradition; but rather stay open to guidance from my higher self. I perceive this process to be a collaboration, to which I contribute my experience, technical skill and aesthetics in order to express the ideas and feelings that I am inspired to bring to life. Each piece is a process of discovery and unfolding. I am often quite surprised at the gifts that appear through this intuitive co-creation. The imagery is symbolic, a sphere, a face, wings,

The Modality of a Light Indwelled Human A New Heaven & New Earth By: Timothy Connolly
As we progressively accelerate our reawakening into fully conscious humans, a number of activities within our physical makeup are being re-worked so to speak. Not only on the physical level, but equally non-physical levels of changes are continually manifesting. Both are associated with one another. There is much speculation as to the various sources of these changes from cosmic, external energy to a natural or a normal evolutionary process within our bodies. Regardless of what may be a driving factor in these changes, they are occurring. And they are occurring at a level unseen in recent history as at appears we are nearing a tipping point, a significant leap in human consciousness. This carries a profound promise to civilization as a whole. Not only will we able to comprehend our interconnectedness to each other, but all of creation will become available to us. Having explored in the article- Mayan Underworlds and 2012, how human consciousness has evolved in a step-like process over vast amounts of linear time, we are now standing at the threshold of a great, grand scale transfor rmation. This New Earth will be one where our full spirit-filled abilities will dominate and compliment those of our physical nature to co-create a world that for now seems only a wonderful fantasy and one
strictly existing in a domain of the mind. Yes, there is still work to be done and our challenges both personally and collectively will not magically vaporize upon passing the threshold. Our journey of humanities liberation is to be one filled with joy and not self inflicted misery. What will facilitate and even expedite the global transformation will come from those who have prepared daily through embracing their own transformation process. These individuals will be emboldened to participate in seemingly magical ways when compared to the ability of others due to their more complete nature. For others who resist or fear these transformational powers, they will remain handicapped either through a miss-understanding of what is occurring to them and their “personal environment or by a reluctance to accept drastic changes. Much like those of today, who have not begun to fully integrate the mind-spirit-body connections, they wait upon the arrival of others expecting them to do the heavy lifting and directing. Nothing could be further from the truth; fortunately, this handicapped nature can be of a temporary nature and able to overcome- if the desire exists.

DNA the Language of Light & Quantum Communication As scientifically based understanding of our DNA’s nature comes into alignment with emerging evidence of consciousness, we will quickly find they are not mutually exclusive. While we have recently explored the entire genome sequence, scientists are expanding through specialized research that shows our DNA not only holds instructions for cellular operations and blueprints for the creation of our physical bodies, but it includes communication capabilities and connections to consciousness. One of the most profound emerging discoveries in DNA research will be in the area of communication regarding the eternal aspects of ourselves and how this communication medium is achieved through light activation capacities encoded within DNA. By light I’m referring to the higher aspects or eternal spirit nature of our true selves or soul which in essence exists in the realm of light or non-physical dimensions of space-time. Just in the same way as DNA and RNA (Ribonucleic acid) communicate together and facilitate specific instructions and actions within our bodies unique to each other, our consciousness (higher-selves/Holy Spirit) interacts with our DNA while the RNA carries out physical responses to communication from our higher-self. If this form of divine communication is to function properly as originally designed within our physical makeup, it requires the full use of both 14 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
negative and positive polarities contained within our consciousness and those elements are represented in the physical by our DNA and RNA. The communication process which occurs, in an elementary way, is hidden in plain sight to the unaware. On the universal, cosmic level this communication originates at the quantum level of existence unbounded by the physical limitations imposed by our current makeup within our DNA. Since each cell is a communication center interlinked to all other bodily cells, it stands to reason that if our higher selves want to facilitate an upward progression of the awakening or ascension process within an individual, only a request needs to be initiated which could manifest an event in the physical environment to move along the individual into a desired action. That action can either be an internal one of the mind and perception or actually attracting and engineering an event which transpires in the physical world or a combination of both. Consider that earth as a living organism, is effected in similar ways as humans are and more often, is now equally affected on a large scale by these transformative powers. The interconnectedness of all matter helps to explain how eventually order comes out of apparent chaos. “Behind the existence of all matter is a conscious and intelligent mind - this mind is the matrix of all matter” ~ Max Planck, “father” of quantum theory
To a large degree our societal progression and evolution of thought out of darkness is generated by and has been facilitated in part by our divided brains. As explained in the article- 2012 Consciousness Shift, we all are now in the process of re-uniting these two dissimilar hemispheres each with very special and specific functions. All the while in a simultaneous fashion as these changes in our brain transpire, our DNA is becoming more receptive to light communication from the higher-self or spirit. At this higher level or frequency of awareness, what is available for us to comprehend and act upon is exponentially greater than what has been previously accessible. We should expect to experience more joy, self realization and expression, creativity and peace. However, this process will primarily be a gradual one and as more of humanity embodies the the new genetics, civilization as a whole will restructure society into a world governed predominantly by unconditional love. As we merge into a more complete, unified human the communication abilities between each other and most importantly the unfettered reunion to our higherselves will catapult this world to wonderful levels unimaginable. This entirely different dimensional existence is only accessed by following this enfoldment process without resistance and releasing any judgmental dispositions formally held. Entry into a New Earth is now open for all who wish to continue this remarkable journey. However, it’s spiritually and physically impossible to enter for those who wish to remain in the lower domains
of chaos disconnected from their higher-selves. A lot of the physical changes discussed here are automatic processes that do not require special monitoring. Recognizing the existence of and accepting their sometimes gentle prodding will bring forth a smoother, graceful transition and assimilation of all the various alterations manifesting. In the next issue we will cover Ascension of New Human Genetics, and A Personal Choice to Reunite. Tim’s interest and study of non-mainstream subject matter including esoteric topics begun with a life altering event at the age of 14. Being forever inquisitive by nature has quickly lead him to higher levels of awareness and a heightened intuition for understanding the arcane. With a long career in finance, this affords Tim the ability to apply a professional, down-toearth approach when discussing and writing about the science of spirituality. Tim is equally adept in bringing clarity out of the confusion caused by today’s global economic and Geopolitical upheaval now actively upon us as we travel through a Shift of The Age. As a result of a deep understanding of these seemingly disparate subjects, he is able to bridge the gap offering wisdom during these chaotic, transitional times we face. He is also eternally optimistic of our future while combining high energy with a clear perspective as to the importance, and power of the thoughts and choices we make everyday. www.shiftoftheage.com 15 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011

What is Astra
In previous issue we went over what is Astral travelling, now lets review the Various Forms of Astral Projection: From Traveling Clairvoyance to Complete Immersion on Astral Plane. There are various forms of astral projection. The simplest is remote viewing, which really is a form of traveling clairvoyance as a fragment of one’s self senses events and scenes from a remote location while the remote viewer sits in a darkened room in a light state of trance. While meditating in my darkened apartment one morning, I could actually see within my mind’s eye (or third eye?) a clear image of some contractors working on the roof of a small house. It had a chimney and it appeared like there were up to seven contractors working on the construction of a new roof. At first I assumed I must have been picking up a scene from the astral plane (happens to me sometimes) of astral workers creating an astral building (does happen on some of the astral worlds). It was not until after I stopped meditating, and while on the way to get my mail, I happened to notice a small house going up right next to my apartment complex with the same contractors working on the same roof with chimney etc! 16 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
al Projection It is experiences like these that prove to me beyond a shadow of a doubt about their reality. Experiences of remote viewing, though rare and hard to repeat, are real as day. A deeper form of remote viewing occurs when the soul is aware in two places at once, behind the physical eyes and from within the astral viewpoint. This effect does happen and illustrates the fact that as long as the physical body remains alive, the soul stays behind with the body while its etheric double goes around and about which the soul also keeps in touch with. Another form of astral travel is actually the out-of-body experience where one is aware mainly of the etheric counterpart of the earth plane and can perceive, even sometimes feel (but not actually touch or pick up except under very rare conditions) all the things most closely associated with Earth, actual astral projection is travel in the higher spheres above the earth plane where one is in the astral counterpart (or duplicate) of one’s physical body and can meet friends and loved ones who either have passed over or are also asleep, dreaming and/or astral traveling! There have been some documented cases where one has actually seen while wide awake physically someone else’s etheric double (or doppelganger) 17 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
standing in the same room often to say “goodbye” to a loved one if while in grave danger and/or dying or simply while astral projecting. In the book, Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda there are several instances of yogis traveling in their astral bodies either while still physically living or even after their deaths who were able to fully appear in a solid form in front of various witnesses. For example read The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar and wonder about that. Paramhansa Yogananda never had any personal reason(s) or inclinations to ever lie or deceive others.
Russell Smonds (Shaktivirya) has dedicated his life to finding wholeness and is living the “wholeness” lifestyle. His website, Science of Wholeness is a spiritual and nutritional information and research center dedicated to helping you find your keys to wholeness (everlasting joy, love, bliss, rejuvenation, and much, much more). There is no greater thing of beauty, value and joy as wholeness! www.selfgrowth. com/experts/russell_symonds
I personally had someone come visit me in the astral while I was in a deep relaxation trance in my early twenties. This person’s energy was so intense it pulled me out of my body through my heart center! Then when I saw this guy sitting with his normal clothes on in a meditation posture right in front of me, I had no idea whatsoever that he was there because he had just died! The entire experience can be found on my free e-book The Science of Wholeness, “Lesson 14” at paragraph 14.7: Death, Enlightenment, Bliss and Resurrection. I know for sure these things are real, and when one has a paranormal experience, there is no denying it whatsoever, it happened! The wise yogi learns how to calm his breath, slow down his heartbeat and withdraw his physical energy deep into the spinal centers and then ultimately deep into the third eye where he can “die daily” with full ability to leave his body at will just as one can leave one’s vehicle by simply opening the door and walking out of it. The late Indian poet and master of yoga, Rabindranath Tagore who came back speaking through the ectoplasm of direct voice medium, Leslie Flint very clearly explains his life-long interest in astral projection and how he mastered it and the unspeakable beauty of the higher spheres that he now lives on. Unless one has (perhaps in a past life) previously learned it, astral projection is never something one can simply learn overnight and then do for recreation or entertainment. It is rather a serious undertaking requiring total commitment. Astral projection is a spiritual enrichment practice and not something one should do only for materialistic, sensual, selfish or mundane reasons, as such low levels of intention and/or consciousness would be unwise and make it much harder to achieve any worthwhile results.

The Cambodian Landmine Museum and Relief Fund By Linda Dimichelle
D
uring my first visit to Cambodia I was distressed at how many people had been forced into a life of begging due to being the misfortunes victims of landmines. I cried tears of anguish for the young man I saw with no legs, now cruelly forced to walk on his hands. His life miserably reduced to sitting at people’s feet and his

eyes despondently gazing up in the hope that someone would give him money to survive. Sadly this man is just one of the many people affected by landmines as Cambodia has one of the highest rates of amputees in the world. From 2000 to 2005 the number of casualties was about 850 a year.
On returning to Cambodia I wanted to discover what was being done to help the landmine situation. On the internet I found the Landmine Museum and felt moved by their work and projects. Not only were they totally dedicated to clearing landmines to make the country safer, but they had supported about 100 children who had transitions through the Museum Relief Centre since Aki Ra founded it in 1997. At the moment there are 35 children living at the centre. Originally the children were victims of landmines, but over time the centre has embraced others who are suffering from HIV or who have long standing disabilities due to polio or birth defects. All children have been welcomed with open arms.
a friend were warmly welcomed by Bill who told us about the history and development of the centre and it’s projects. Bill is a warm hearted, charismatic man whose support and determination has touched the lives of many people and children in Cambodia. Bill’s story of how he and Aki Ra came to work together and the many hurdles they had to be overcome to register the organization as an NGO was transfixing. Their dedication to ensuring that future of Cambodia will be a safer place for all is very moving. Aki Ra’s determination to never give up making his country safe for his people inspired Bill Morse to dedicate his life to ensuring this could happen.
Bill Morse
Enthused by their dedication I contacted Bill Morse and his wife Jill and asked to visit the centre. I wanted to find out more about their work and also bring each of their children a small gift. Both emailed me back and kindly invited me to come and meet to them. I was unable to meet Jill on the day, but myself and
Aki Ra Demining 21 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
How it all began Aki Ra, sadly like many young children was orphaned due to the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge. At the age of 10 he was trained as a child soldier and taught to lay landmines. From an early life of hardship Aki Ra has channeled his previous suffering into a committed devotion to helping others. From a young orphaned child soldier he has developed into an admirable and courageous man who risks his life to make his country a safe place for all. Aki Ra is an honorable man whom I feel would see his life only as a devotion to the future of his people, but in the eyes of myself and others he is truly one of life’s much needed hero’s. In the beginning Aki Ra worked alone using only a knife and a wooden stick to disarm mines. With much opposition and harassment from the government Aki Ra still managed to open and maintain a small museum from which he used the much needed donations he got from tourists to support the demining. Very soon villages were asking Aki Ra to help them and it was whilst working in these villages that he soon began to notice many injured or abandoned children. Touched by their struggle Aki Ra brought them home to live within his own family unit and soon his family began to grow. Most landmines are not designed to kill but instead to horribly maim the victim. Sadly many adults and children through lack of awareness had lost limbs whilst playing or handling landmines. Others have had the misfortune of losing limbs through treading on mines in the many unsafe fields of Cambodia. In 2007 the Cambodian government ordered Aki Ra’s museum to be closed, but with 22 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
the support of documentary film producer Richard Fitoussi who founded the Cambodian Landmine Relief fund in 2003 and a Canadian NGO they were able to secure funding to buy land. Much of the funding was provided by Tom Shadyac, a movie director from California which ensured that a new museum and relief centre was built. The new location is 25 kilometers from Siem Reap, near Banteay Srey Temple, inside the Angkor National Park. During this time Bill and Jill Morse started the US based Land Mine Relief fund which was to help Aki Ra to clear landmines. To assist with demining they were supported along with an Australian group and the Vietnam Veterans mine clearing team.
The Cambodia Landmine Museum exists for 3 reasons: To tell Aki Ra’s story To tell the world about the horrors of landmines and explain that war is only half the problem. The aftermath of war continues long after the shooting stops. To care for the children who live at the museum.
As of today, 35 children now live as a family at the Cambodia Landmine Museum Relief Center. The children are free to leave if they wish, but choose to stay and be supported not just with education, but also as I witnessed with love, compassion and devotion from the staff. As the children grow into young adults they will also be offered sponsorship to obtain a higher education of their choice. Some of the young adults have expressed a desire to become doctors. Due to the confidence they have developed through love, acceptance and education at the Landmine Relief Centre, I am sure many if not all will become inspirational adults within their own country.
Projects The Cambodian Self Help Demining and the Museum and Relief Centre are separate NGO’s but both run by Aki Ra. Cambodian Self Help Demining Funding comes from the Australian VVMCT and the Landmine Relief Fund in the USA. The Relief Centre Funding from around the world have enabled the Relief Centre to continue supporting children. New dormitories, toilet blocks and a school have just been built.

Lemurs of Madagascar
Lemurs are small primates known as “prosimians,” which, roughly translated, means “pre-primates” or “before monkeys.” Native only to the island of Madagascar and the neighboring Comoro Islands, lemurs resemble the oldest ancestors of primates which existed tens of millions of years ago.
just over 30 living species. Some species of lemurs are now extinct, including one ancient lemur said to be as large as a gorilla — over 400 pounds. Some prosimian species contain a number of subspecies, all with distinct characteristics, which brings the total types of living lemurs to around 50.
Lemur Species
Today’s lemur species range in size from the tiny pygmy mouse lemur, weighing in at about an ounce, to the 15-pound indri lemur and the sifaka, which are both about the size of a standard house cat.
Exact classification of some types of lemurs is a subject of debate, but it’s generally accepted that there are five families of lemurs with about a dozen genera and 24 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
Living Arrangements Most lemurs are arboreal, living in trees. They spend most of their time at the top of the rainforest canopy or in the forest midlevel. An exception is the ring-tailed lemur, which spends most of its time on the ground. The majority of lemurs are also diurnal, awake during the day and asleep at night — especially those that live in groups, including the ring-tailed lemurs, brown lemurs, and sifakas. The smaller mouse lemurs and dwarf lemurs are nocturnal, preferring to be active in the relative safety of nighttime darkness. The aye-aye, a fascinating lemur with an elongated, claw-like middle finger which it uses to dig insects out of tree bark, is also nocturnal, and is often feared by the Malagasy people of its native Madagascar because of its unusual appearance.
Lemur females are dominant. A group of lemurs usually has one dominant female who leads the group, controls their movement, and has first choice of food and mates. Common parts of a lemur diet in the wild include fruits, leaves, and other edible plant materials. Insects may also be on the menu, especially for the smaller lemurs. Physical Features Unlike some other primates, lemurs do not have prehensile tails (they cannot hang by their tails from trees like monkeys) but they do have long, wet noses. Lemurs have a keen sense of smell and they also have good vision, even at night. Their thumbs and big toes are opposable, but they mainly use their teeth and an extended “toilet claw” on the second toe of their hind feet for grooming. www.lemurs.us/basics.html 25 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM • July 2011
