SUMMER FETE & FAMILY BARBECUE EVENING Friday 12th July 2013 This year’s main summer fundraising event will be very special - the theme is a traditional Village Summer Fete, we will be serving cakes and cream teas, ice cream and candy floss. We will also have a BBQ with bar serving cider, beer, wine and soft drinks. We want this to be the best event yet, and hope that lots of you will come along and support the school. There will be lots of things to keep the children entertained including a traditional roundabout, bouncy castle with slide, climbing wall, skittle alley and loads of other traditional games such as coconut shies and shoot the ball past the goalie. We will also have circus skills, face painting and lots of other fun activities. For adults there will be live music from local band Nevertheless and room to dance! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Raffle Tickets are coming soon... Fundraising Ideas

If you are interested or know anyone who may be, spaces are £10, please sign up at the office and enclose a £5 deposit and contact details.

The fundraising events held so far this year have been a great success, but as we have lots of new members on the PFA we have limited the number of events whilst we find our feet and learn from the more experienced members of the team.

Summer Fete Competitions

As you know we’ve held the very popular discos and a quiz night and the summer fete is coming up, but we’d like to do more, such as a fashion show.

Most traditional village fetes hold vegetable growing, cake making or arts and crafts competitions. At our Summer Fete there will be two competitions giving the children a chance to demonstrate their creative skills……

Do you have any ideas for family based events we could run to raise money? Please let us know as all suggestions will be appreciated.

Competition One – Grow your own flower (50p to enter) Choose whatever type of pot you like (old welly, tea pot, bucket etc.) and grow your own flower. Bring your flower into school on Wednesday 10th July and Mrs Webb and Mrs Ford who run the gardening club will judge the best flower.

Competition Two – Poem, Portrait or model of our school (50p to enter)

…….and finally Over the coming weeks your children will be coming home with raffle tickets to sell and stickers kindly requesting donations. Please support the school by selling the tickets and donating as little

You spend lots of time here every day, but how do you really view your school? You can take pen to paper and write a poem or limerick, or using whatever creative materials you like, create the school.

or as much as you can. We’re all really
