Collect Almighty God, who built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone: so join us together in unity of spirit by their doctrine, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Bible Readings for today: Eph. 2:19-end; John 15:17-end

Reflections on being a Reader in the Benefice: Readership is a journey. I have been a Reader now for five years and love every part of it! Each time I preach to members of our congregations, I want to share my love of God. The training I had gave me the tools to begin that journey but I continue to grow and develop every time I have to preach. Being a Reader is much more than just preaching but difficult to define exactly. It is living out God’s love for us in our everyday lives with everyone we meet in the best way we can, as we are all disciples of Christ. The bible message is as relevant today as it ever was and I try to a show this in as positive a way as I can to enable people to reach out and feel God's presence and love continually in their lives. Di Grenter The Service of Light will be held in St. John’s Church on Sunday 4th November at 5pm, when names of those who have died over the past two years will be read out and a candle lit for each. The Service will be part of the Death and Dying event to be held in the Church (2nd-4th Nov). A list of names will be displayed in each church, please add names of those who you would like to be remembered. The lists will be removed on 30th October, however, additional names will continue to be collected at the service. There is also an opportunity to add names on Friday and Saturday of the Death and Dying event. Please contact Michael Lewsey tel: (01458) 741594.
