Being a Reader in the Benefice…. I resisted the call to become a Reader for quite a lot of years. I always had really good reasons - four children, elderly parents, not enough time - until one day I realised I’d run out of excuses not to. So I decided to look my fears in the face and do it anyway. It has been a rollercoaster journey, but I’ve loved every minute, even the homework! I still have many moments of doubting myself, I’ve been well and truly hauled out of my comfort zone and this is only the beginning. When I’m licensed on October 5th, it will be the culmination of four years work and a lifetime of loving the Lord. It’s exciting, but I’ll always be aware of the privilege and responsibility of being able to serve God in whatever way He chooses to use me. Thank you all for your continuing support and prayers through this journey. Annie Wynter-Crofts Calling All Men!! It’s about time we got together for a breakfast and a chat! Please put this date in your diary: Saturday 7th September, 9am at Wetherspoons in Street! Can you please let me know if you’d like to come and I’ll book some tables. Breakfast is around £5.00 and as much tea & coffee as you can drink! David, Vicar
