On Thursday 24th October, Peter, Bishop of Bath and Wells, joined other important guests to officially open St. Benedict’s brand new well-being space, ‘The Burrow’. The incredible space is designed to meet the needs of the school’s pupils and will be utilised by nurture staff as well as counsellors and therapists. As well as the Bishop, guests included representatives from the surveyors, Hookways, outdoor designers, ‘Different by Design’, and members of the diocesan team, who have funded the project.

The school council represented the school on the day and mingled with guests as they enjoyed delicious refreshments courtesy of Chair of the PTFA, Sharon Tomsett, whilst Year 6 pupils were on hand to deliver informative school tours. This was just one of the highlights of ‘Wellbeing Week’ along with the visit of the Tashi Lhunpo monks and Mindfulness and Yoga workshops delivered by Julie Lovelock.

Top author Maz Evans inspired Year 6 pupils when she visited on Wed 23rd October. Maz talked about her books and motivated our Year 6’s – who are talented writers already – on to even greater heights.

Excited Year 6’s with author, Maz Evans

A group of pupils got to take advantage of a generous offer of theatre tickets on Thursday 24th October. Offered to the school through our link with InspirED, the tickets were for the BARNfest show at the Brewhouse in Taunton. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and even got to savour a tasty ice-cream with a very happy M s Kirby and Mr Shaw.
