Curriculum Committee Terms of Reference 2018-19 Membership:

All governors plus the headteacher. Also the deputy headteacher as adviser.

Quorum:

Five governors.

Meetings: meetings.

Five or six per year, feeding in to the Full Governing Board (FGB)

Remit:

To consider and make decisions regarding standards of the school curriculum, teaching standards and attainment, pupil behaviour, safety and wellbeing, including sta tutory requirements.

To review and ratify policies and schemes listed above. To receive reports on, and monitor progress of SEND provision, Safeguarding and other subjects as deemed appropriate and necessary. To receive reports on Racial Incidents, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, and attendance. To receive and consider reports on teaching standards.

To complete the Annual Safeguarding Report and Racial Incidents Report, and to inform the FGB. Activities First meeting

Agree work priorities. Agree lead roles. Set dates for the year. Identify training programme for new committee members and development for existing members. Agree which policies to be reviewed throughout the year.

Autumn Term

Review policies, procedures, statutory duties as appropriate. Look at targets as identified in the School Development Plan (SDP) and monitor progress. Review Governors' visits into school.

Spring Term

Receive report on progress of performance management. Monitor progress on SDP. Review policies, procedures, statutory duties as appropriate. Receive report on effectiveness of Child Protection & Safeguarding policy. Receive report on pupil attendance.

Summer Term

Plan details of governor monitoring of SDP. Receive reports from governors with responsibility for SEND, Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Gifted and Talented and to advise/make recommendations to the FGB as appropriate. Review policies, procedures, terms of reference, and statutory duties as appropriate. Undertake self-review for the year to assess whether priorities have been achieved.
