Primary Maths Festival at The Cathedral School in Wells On Wednesday 7th November, 8 year 6’s represented our school at the primary school maths festival at Wells Cathedral School in Wells. The 8 pupils got put into groups and 4 pupils were in each group, we were group 4 and 6. At the end, the awards were announced and 3 girls, from a different school, came 3 rd and the 2 groups from our school came 1st and 2nd and there was loads of fun maths based activities to do. We will receive 4 silver medals and 4 gold medals. The second placers got a box of smarties and the first placers got a tube of smarties. All 8 of us got a Wells Cathedral School ruler as well. Girl’s football tournament Tomorrow afternoon a squad of 10 will travel to Frome College to take part in a girl’s football tournament – we wish them luck and hope they enjoy the opportunity of playing other teams.
The Glastonbury Trail The Key Stage 1 children at St John’s Infants’ School have designed their own Glastonbury Trail. You have been invited to complete the trail and crack the code on a map. If you would like to participate in the trail you can purchase a map for £2. The maps will be available from the office at St John’s Infants school or the local hardware shop AWG Curtis & Son in Benedict Street. The trail will be open between Saturday 17th November and Friday 30th November. Maps will be available to purchase on Monday 12th November. You will be rewarded with a prize when you return your completed trail form to the school office at St John’s by Friday 30th November. All proceeds will go towards a Winter Wonderland event at St John’s Infants’ School. Why not have a go… have you got what it takes to crack the code? Best wishes
