FACULTY OF EDUCATION

Welcome from the Dean Welcome to Edge Hill University and congratulations on securing a place on one of the Faculty of Education’s Programmes. The Faculty of Education at Edge Hill has a well-established national reputation for its outstanding provision, employment success and is committed to providing the very best student experience. In March 2011 the Faculty was awarded 33 grade ones by Ofsted out of a possible 33 reporting cells – a unique achievement. These grades were awarded across its entire initial teacher training provision – Primary and Early Years, Secondary and Post-Compulsory Education and Training. As part of your programme you will be supported by a team of highly skilled and experienced tutors who are committed to ensuring that you achieve your maximum potential. Throughout your experience with us you will be supported but also challenged, stretched and driven to be outstanding as part of our commitment to your achievement and career progression. Within the University and Faculty your voice and opinions are very important and play a key role in our feedback mechanisms which in turn provide us with information about how well students think we are doing at meeting their needs. We do listen and there are numerous opportunities for you to take part in this important strand of being a student in the Faculty. I very much hope you enjoy your time with us.
