Welcome to the Department of Media This guide has been prepared for all year one undergraduate students studying in the Department of Media. It includes important information regarding the schedule of activities that have been planned to welcome you to Edge Hill University, and particularly to the Department of Media. The Department is located in the CMIST building (Creative Media, Information Systems and Technology) on the Western Campus, to the right of the University Library. During your induction week you will receive all the information you need in relation to your academic timetable, student responsibilities and the year ahead. It is most important that you attend the schedule of meetings which are outlined in this guide, starting with the first meeting on Monday 19 September 2011 at 2.00pm in W1 (Wilson Centre). Please note: if you are a joint honours student attend the session for Media on Tuesday afternoon at 1.00pm in M49. In addition, as well as the Freshers’ Fair, there are meetings for student finance, student services and a drop-in session for advice on disabled students allowance. We hope that you find the 2011-12 academic year a challenging, rewarding and enjoyable experience, and if you need any further information in relation to your induction period, please contact your programme leader or administrative staff for further assistance.
