Pre registration Midwifery BSc (Hons)

Welcome to Midwifery in the Faculty of Health and Social Care Congratulations on successfully securing a place on the pre-registration BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme. Obtaining your degree and professional qualification is the beginning of a life long career which is challenging but extremely rewarding and we hope you enjoy the experience. Being a midwife is a privilege and it is also our privilege to welcome you into the Faculty of Health and be part of shaping your future. The staff in the Faculty are here to teach, guide and support you and ensure you have a positive student experience. In terms of clinical practice, the Midwifery Department at Edge Hill University has excellent relationships with NHS Trusts and the independent sector and the practice placement experience of our students has been voted best in the country for two years running in the National Student Survey. Your Fresher’s week and induction week have been designed to give you time to settle into University life, introduce you to your programme, the midwifery profession, teaching staff and personal tutor. On behalf of the midwifery team I wish you every success on your programme and hope that you will make the most of all the opportunities there are for you.
