Welcome to the Department of Psychology Thank you for making the decision to study Psychology at Edge Hill University. You are joining a vibrant Department which puts its students first and is recognised for excellence in its support of students. The Department of Psychology prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and innovative. You will find it to be busy but friendly. Above 350 students are studying Psychology at Edge Hill and all are taught by staff who are acknowledged as leaders in their field of expertise. Our students benefit from working with tutors who continue to ask questions and stretch the discipline and bring this back into their teaching and your learning. During this first week your most important point of contact is your Personal Tutor. We will provide you with their details early on in the week. You will also be introduced to your Year Tutor, your Programme Leader and to the two Programme Administrators who always do their very best to assist you with your queries no matter how singular that query seems to be to you. Over the next few days we will give you plenty of advice on who does what but the most important thing to remember is that everyone in the Department is there to help you no matter what your question might be. We have every confidence in our ability to provide you with a fascinating and rewarding experience knowing that so many of our students attain outstanding degrees, much of which is down to their own hard work and enthusiasm for such an exciting and energising subject! We wish you every success.
