Next steps

Now that you have accepted an offer from Edge Hill, there are several things to bear in mind over the next few months.

Your offer will be Unconditional if you are not awaiting any examination results or Conditional if you are waiting for your results or to satisfy any other conditions of your offer. The following information will help you to identify what happens with each type of offer during the next stage of the application process. You will also need to think about applying for student finance (if you have not already done so), accommodation and scholarships as well as preparing for university life. Check out our Key Dates timeline on page 6 for full details. Thinking and planning ahead will help you to enjoy a stress-free summer before beginning your degree this September.

CF Offer

Understanding your Conditional Firm (CF) offer If you have accepted a conditional offer from Edge Hill as your Firm choice you will need to wait until your results are published for your place at the University to be confirmed.

For many of you, this will mean waiting until A level results day on Thursday 15 August 2013. However, if you are taking a BTEC, Scottish Highers, International Baccalaureate or an Access to HE Diploma, your results may be published slightly earlier.

If you receive results that satisfy the conditions of your offer your place at Edge Hill will be confirmed. You will be able to login to UCAS Track to make sure that your place has been confirmed. The status you are looking for is UF (Unconditional Firm), indicating that you have now met all academic conditions of your offer.

However, you should be aware that even if you have met the academic criteria, you may still need to fulfil some other requirements depending on your chosen course. These may include Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, medical clearance or providing proof of your qualifications. If these requirements apply to you, our Admissions Team will send you the relevant information.

In some circumstances, if your results do not quite meet the conditions of your offer, you may still be offered a place on your chosen degree or we may be able to consider you for an alternative course. You are advised to check the status of your application on UCAS Track as soon as possible and contact our dedicated Confirmation and Clearing Help Line during August if you have any queries. Go to page 12 for more information.

Please note that the final deadline to satisfy all conditions of your offer is 31 August 2013. Some courses may also call for specific requirements that will have earlier deadlines. If applicable, you will have been advised of these by our Admissions Team.

CI Offer

Understanding your Conditional Insurance (CI) offer If you meet the conditions of the Firm (CF) offer you are holding at another University, your place at that choice will be automatically confirmed. You should check your status on UCAS Track upon receipt of your results.

If you do not meet the conditions of your CF offer, your Firm choice may still be able to offer you a place on either your chosen or an alternative course. Again, you should check your status on UCAS Track, and contact your Firm choice if you have any queries about your status with them.

If you have not met the conditions of your CF choice, but have met the requirements of your Insurance (CI) offer at Edge Hill, we will automatically confirm your place. Should your CF choice not be able to confirm your place, your CI choice with us would then become Unconditional Firm (UF). You must remember to contact Student Finance to inform them of your changed circumstances in order for your funding to be released.

Please note that the final deadline to satisfy all conditions of your offer is 31 August 2013. Some courses may also call for specific requirements that will have earlier deadlines. If applicable, you will have been advised of these by our Admissions Team.

UF Offer

Understanding your Unconditional Firm (UF) offer If you have accepted an unconditional offer from Edge Hill as your Firm choice, you have already met the academic requirements and do not need to notify us of any further results you may be expecting this summer.

Please note that the final deadline to satisfy all conditions of your offer is 31 August 2013. Some courses may also call for specific requirements that will have earlier deadlines. If applicable, you will have been advised of these by our Admissions Team.

UI Offer

Understanding your Unconditional Insurance (UI) Offer If you have already met our entry requirements and have been made an Unconditional Offer (UI) which you have accepted as your Insurance choice, you do not need to notify us of any further results you may be expecting this summer.

If your Firm choice offer is Conditional, and you meet the requirements of that offer, your place will automatically be confirmed. If you have not met the requirements of your Conditional offer, and are not accepted by your Firm choice, your place at Edge Hill will be confirmed and your UCAS Track status will automatically change to UF. At this point we will send you further information.

Sending us your results

UCAS will notify us directly of a range of results, including A and AS levels, BTEC, CACHE, CoPE (ASDAN), International Baccalaureate, Irish Leaving Certificate, OCR, SQA and Welsh Baccalaureate. Go to www.ucas.com/how-it-all-works/undergraduate/results for further details.

In some cases, however, you may need to send proof of your qualifications to the University. If you are taking any qualification other than those listed above, you should arrange for proof of results to be sent to us as soon as you receive them. If you are unsure or have any queries, please contact our Admissions Team.

If you have taken an Access to HE Diploma, UCAS will automatically tell us if you have obtained an overall Pass. However, we will require you to provide your full transcript of credits, as this will not be available from UCAS. You should send this to the Admissions Team as soon as you receive it.

If your offer conditions stated that you needed to provide proof of qualifications already held, you should send these to us as soon as possible if you have not already done so. If you are unsure as to whether you have already provided these please refer to your offer conditions for clarification, or contact the Admissions Team for advice. For all other courses, if your offer states that you are required to provide proof of your qualifications you can post photocopies into us at:

Admissions Edge Hill University St Helens Road Ormskirk Lancashire L39 4QP
