The Balham buzz You can go out, eat out, wile out and laugh out loud with Balham’s eclectic selection of venues. The Bedford, a Balham institution, attracts huge names with The Clash playing there, as well as U2, and a little known singer called Ed Sheeran. The Exhibit, Balham’s self-procliamed “Youth Club for Adults”, combines a gallery, cinema, restaurant, bar, club and more into one place. Morley von Sternberg trained, qualified, and began his career as an architect before establishing his name as one of Britain’s most respected photographers. He photographs Architecture, Interiors, Lifestyle, Streetlife, and Portraits. He is currently working on a project with NAWIC, the National Association of Women in Construction capture the face of the women in the construction industry. The idea of the project The Image of Women in Construction is to show the diversity of women, ages, and variety of professions, roles and showcase to the young in general it can be an excellent career choice.

Mark Davy founded Futurecity in 2007 as a culture and placemaking consultancy and a platform for the culture-driven development of our urban centres. He is a passionate leader driven by a commitment to cultural excellence in our cities and his commercial and intellectual knowledge place him at the forefront of the debate about the changing role and purpose of modern cities. As the Founder of Futurecity, Mark has won a large number of major culture and placemaking projects, across London and in other cities in the UK and played a leadership role in setting up new creative districts and neighbourhoods in London and elsewhere. He has raised millions of

pounds of new funding for the arts by persuading the private sector of the importance of culture led placemaking and the role of the arts in creating new places. He has brokered new galleries, studios and funding for the Royal Academy, Chelsea College of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art and created the conditions for the English National Ballet to relocate to a new funded facility on City Island in London’s East End for property developer Ballymore.

Chris Leigh-Cattrall is an industrial designer who is Director at M3 Design Development. Chris oversees the interior architecture and design element at M3 and instils a relaxed and informal aesthetic, creating harmonious spaces and modern, functional products. M3 have developed a strong base of products over the course of 15 years, calling on their Italian manufacturing partners and have designed and developed a fantastic array of products for the home.M3 work on large luxury residential apartment projects and hotels across London, and overseas in Monaco, New York and Dubai, which include Fitzroy Place, Neo Bankside & Battersea Power Station.
