HOWTO CHOOSE A SHOW

OFFICIAL DAILY GUIDE ID THE EDINBURGH FESTIVALS Produced every day during the festival in association with The Guardian, the Guide contains hour-by-hour listings ofevery show each day across all of Edinburgh's festivals, including the Fringe. REVIEWS The Scotsman and Metro print reviews, news, interviews and more in a daily festival supplement, while you'll also find daily coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News, The Herald, The Guardian and The Times. Weekly publications like The List, Scotland on Sunday, Sunday Herald, The Sunday Times Scotland, ThreeWeeks and The Stage also provide coverage of the Fringe.

LISTINGS

All entries have been written by the performing companies themselves. The layout of all entries has been standardised as follows:

1. SHOW TITLE • 2. PERFORMER/PERFORMING COMPANY NAME 3. VENUE INFORMATION More information about all venues and the shows running at them can be found in the alphabetical directoryofvenues on pp240-267

4. DATES & TIMES The 24 hour clock is used. Shows starting in the early hours, e.g. 1.1 Sam, are listed on the previous day's date. Shows starting from 7am are shown on the current date. Approximate show duration is given in brackets.

5. CALENDAR Dates in bold indicate that the show takes place on that date. The smaller dates are days when Fringe shows may take place (such as previews) but which are notwithin the core dates of the Fringe (5-27 August). The red dates indicate when a show is partofThe Times Fringe 2 for 1 ticket offer on 5 and 6 August.

6. PRICE For unreserved seats in nearly all cases. Concession prices, where available, are given in brackets and are offered to: S: Students; U: Unemployed; D: Disabled; O: OAPs; C: Children under 16. Identification will be asked for at the venue. A further concession - F: FamilyTicket for four tickets purchased at the same time where a minimum of two tickets are for children - is also available.

7. PREMIERES Specifies World, European or UK premiere.

8. AGE SUITABILITY In the Children's section of the Programme a guide to age suitability (recommended by the producing company and not the Fringe Office) is given in brackets.

9. THE TIMES FRINGE 2 FOR 1 OFFER Indicates thatThe Times Fringe 2 for 1 discount is available on tickets for this show on 5 and 6 August. For more details see p3.
