During Memorial Day weekend, Edinburg Housing Authority (EHA) staff hosted a special ceremony to celebrate the official dedication of their Administration Building to Ciro Trevino, a long-time community leader and public servant. According to Rodolfo “Rudy” Ramirez, the EHA Executive Director, the Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to dedicate the building to Ciro
Trevino due to his years of service.
A COMMUNITY LEADER- The Administration Building was dedicated to Ciro Treviño.
“Ciro was an outstanding community leader,” said
Ramirez. “He cared about helping the less fortunate and was a big advocate for housing.” Born in San Juan, Texas, Ciro Treviño dedicated his life and career to his family and the community until he died at the age of 86 on January 12, 2014. During his lifetime, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and held various positions in the Edinburg City Council. More photos on Facebook.

learning activities. “Although the students were the only ones from Edinburg, they got to see kids from all over the Valley,” said De Leòn. “It helped them realize that they too can be part of big movements.” The resident assistant shared that the agency’s willingness to seek out these opportunities for its students plays a big role in encouraging them to participate and open paths for them to succeed.
