MATCH THE SENTENCES AND THE PICTURES. 1
I’M YELLOW AND BROWN.
I’M WHITE.
MY EARS ARE PINK.
I’M BIG.
I’M DANGEROUS.
I’M NOT DANGEROUS.
I’M SMALL.
THERE ’ S A LION IN THE FOREST. HE ’ S YELLOW AND BROWN, AND HE ’ S BIG.
THE LION IS STRONG, AND HE ’ S VERY DANGEROUS.
THE LION IS TIRED. HE LIES DOWN UNDER A TREE. HE CLOSES HIS EYES AND HE SLEEPS. HE ’ S VERY COMFORTABLE.
THERE ’ S A MOUSE IN THE FOREST. SHE ’ S WHITE, AND HER EARS ARE PINK. SHE CLIMBS ON THE LION.
SHE ’ S PLAYING WITH HIS EARS AND HIS NOSE. IT ’ S FUN!
THE LION ISN’T SLEEPING NOW. THE MOUSE IS IN HIS PAW.
“WHO ARE YOU?” ASKS THE LION. HE’S VERY ANGRY.
WHO ARE YOU?
THE MOUSE IS AFRAID, BUT SHE SAYS, “I’M A SMALL MOUSE. I’M NOT STRONG, AND I’M NOT DANGEROUS. PLEASE, DON’T HURT ME. I CAN HELP YOU.”
PLEASE, DON ’ T HURT ME.
REMEMBER, I CAN HELP YOU.
THE LION SAYS, “ YOU CAN ’ T HELP ME! I ’ M BIG AND STRONG. YOU ’ RE SMALL! BUT YOU CAN GO. ”
“THANK YOU,” SAYS THE MOUSE. “AND REMEMBER, I CAN HELP YOU.”
THE LION IS IN THE FOREST AGAIN. HE ’ S TIRED. HE LIES DOWN UNDER A TREE. HE CLOSES HIS EYES…
BUT HE DOESN’T SLEEP. THERE’S A NET IN THE TREE! THE LION IS VERY ANGRY. HE ROARS. HE ROARS AGAIN. HE CAN ’ T ESCAPE!
THE LION IS TIRED, AND HE ’ S SAD. HE ISN ’ T ROARING NOW. HE CAN ’ T ESCAPE.
HE SITS DOWN IN THE NET AND HE CRIES.
THE MOUSE IS IN THE FOREST AGAIN.
SHE SEES THE LION AND SHE REMEMBERS HIM.
THE LION REMEMBERS THE MOUSE, TOO. THE LION IS CRYING.
I CAN ’ T ESCAPE.
THE MOUSE SAYS, “ I CAN HELP YOU! ”
BUT THE LION SAYS, “ NO, YOU CAN ’ T HELP ME. THE NET IS VERY STRONG. I CAN ’ T ESCAPE. ”
THE MOUSE LOOKS AT THE NET. IT IS STRONG. SHE LOOKS AT THE TREE. IT IS VERY BIG. SHE LOOKS AT THE LION AGAIN.
“
REMEMBER, ” SHE SAYS. “ I CAN HELP
YOU! ”
I CAN HELP YOU!
THE MOUSE CHEWS ON THE NET. IT’S STRONG, BUT SHE CAN HELP. SHE CHEWS AND CHEWS.
THE MOUSE IS TIRED, BUT SHE CHEWS AGAIN AND AGAIN.
THE LION AND THE MOUSE
A big, strong, lion sleeps in the forest. But a mouse plays with his nose and ear, and the lion gets very angry with her. The mouse says that she can help the lion. But how can a small mouse help a big lion?
