Parks and Gardens Nature is all around Jaca. Admire the colorful displays of flowers and trees, which change quite considerably depending on the season, and enjoy the view of Jaca’s parks and gardens while having a pleasant walk. There are plenty of open spaces scattered throughout the city (over 40 hectares). These are just some of the activities you can do in Jaca’s parks: walk in the shade of the trees, enjoy the excellent views over the city from the viewpoints located around, sit quietly, cool down in the public drinking fountains, run, go for a jog, play safely with your children, grab a little snack at the kiosk or play a game of pétanque. In addition these open spaces have facilities intended to enhance the physical mobility of older people.

Paseo de la Constitución. This is the first public park in Aragon built in 1902 by the then mayor of Jaca, Mr. Rufino Abad. The park has beautiful fountains, a bandstand, a summer library, a giant chess set and petanque courts. Entertainment for all the family. From the viewpoint, known as the “rompeolas” by the locals, you can also absorb the tranquil beauty of the landscape. Paseo de la Cantera. A place from where you get a great view over the River Aragon Valley. It is nearly two kilometers long. Avenida Oroel. It is an ideal setting for a gentle stroll in winter due to its facing. There is a safe play area for children. At the end of the avenue you can find the hermitage of Sarsa that was moved to Jaca in order to prevent its collapse. Sanlure. It is a lush quiet well-maintained garden which lies on the former Villa María Díaz-Pradas, dating back to late 19th century. Membrilleras and Sessé y Castillo Gardens. Top spots to spend a day with children. Both parks were created between 1988 and 1990 by the Garden Training Workshop.
