Ustedes, los corredores, familiares y amigos que les acompañan, son los verdaderos prota gonistas de lo que, sin duda, será la prueba deporti va de mayor afluencia de este 2022. Camino de los treinta años (30 años con la cancelación del 2014) este evento se consolida gracias a su participación.
El recorrido diseñado por la propia isla, a lo largo de su costa este y pasando por distintos municipios de Lanzarote, no les dejará indiferentes, un recorrido tan exigente como espectacular y donde las distancias serán lo de menos. Desde la distancia reina, 42,195km, los 21,100km y los 10km, junto con la maratón infantil, nuestra organización se ha volca do en poner en escena una gran fiesta del running, donde estaremos pendientes de cada detalle para su disfrute.
El esfuerzo de los voluntarios, patrocinadores, enti dades públicas y, en definitiva, el de todo el equipo humano que hace que esta prueba sea una realidad, no tiene límites. Gracias a todos ellos ha sido posible volver a recibirles en la maratón más antigua de las Islas Canarias. Un año más nos vemos en la obliga ción de sorprenderles y esperamos que, los que repi ten, puedan ver y comprobar las mejoras en las que hemos estado trabajando a lo largo de todo este año.

Como cada año, después de casi tres décadas, Lanzarote acoge uno de los eventos deportivos más destacados y consolidados del panorama insular y regional, la maratón más antigua de toda Canarias: la Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon.
Cientos de mujeres y hombres de numerosas nacio nalidades se dan cita en nuestra isla para compartir una experiencia única en un entorno privilegiado, para compartir la pasión por correr, el afán de supe ración y los desafíos personales.
Además de las tradicionales carreras de 42, 21 y 10 kilómetros también se suman la Maratón de Whe elers, la carrera solidaria de Papá Noel de 5 km y la tradicional Buddy’s Marathon Kids. Modalidades para todos los gustos y edades para que todos y todas podamos disfrutar de esta prueba deportiva.
Sin duda, la belleza única de los paisajes de Lanza rote y las excelentes temperaturas en pleno mes de diciembre suponen también un importante plus para participar en esta 30 edición del Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon.

Every year for the past 30 years Lanzarote has hosted the most outstanding event in the sporting calender in the most spectacular landscape. The Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon is the oldest Marathon in the Canary Islands.
Hundreds of men and women meet on our island to share a unique experience in wonderful surround ings. They share their passion for running, excellence and personal achievement.
This year in addition to the usual events of 42km, 21km 10km and wheelers race there will be the 5km Santa Solidarity race and the traditional Bud dy Kids Marathon Race. There will be races for all ages and abilities.
The unique landscape and beauty of the island cou pled with excellent December temperatures make the Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon a big attraction.

La Maratón más antigua de Canarias cumple su 30ª edición este año.
Con una temperatura media de 19º C el Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon transcurre en Diciembre a lo largo de una avenida costera en la isla de Lanzarote, abarcando los municipios de Costa Te guise, Arrecife, San Barlotomé y Puerto del Carmen. Cuenta con tres distancias (42k, 21k, 10k y carrera wheelers), premiando cada una de las diferentes categorías por edad y género.
Una prueba deportiva única, donde cada participante disfruta de una experiencia inolvidable, recorriendo la costa de Lanzarote en pleno diciembre con una temperatura más propia del verano que de la época navideña con la que llega el mes de diciembre.
La historia de la maratón más antigua de las Islas Canarias da un giro radical en 2012, fecha en la que Sands Beach Active se hace cargo de la organización de la prueba, afianzándola como referente en el Archipiélago Canario y dotándola de un carácter internacional.
The oldest marathon in the Canaries celebrated its twenty-nine edition this year. With an average temperature of 19ºC, the Font Vella Lanzarote Marathon is held in December along a coastal strip in the island of Lanzarote, covering the municipalities of Costa Teguise, Arrecife, San Bar tolomé and Puerto del Carmen. There are available three distances (42km, 21km,10km and wheelchair marathon), and each one of the different categories is rewarded by age and gender. A unique sport event, where each participant enjoy an unforgettable experience along the coastal strip of Lanzarote. It takes places in December with a pleasant temperature more typical of summer than the Christmas time.
The history of the oldest marathon of the Canary Islands significantly changes in 2012, when Sands Beach Active takes over the organization of the race and strengthening it as reference in the Canary Archipelago and giving it an international status.
En la última edición celebrada en 2019, tuvimos récord de participación, un total de 2700 corredores han parti cipado en comparación con 2297 corredores en 2018.

Estas cifras confirman el Font Vella Lanzarote Interna tional Marathon como uno de los eventos deportivos más destacados y multitudinario de la isla.

En 1990 tuvo lugar la primera edición de esta mara tón que presume de ser las más antigua de las Islas Canarias, promovida por Kenneth Gasque, toda una institución del deporte en la isla de Lanzarote.

Además, el viernes también habrá una divertida carrera de Papa Noel para aquellos que deseen pasar un buen rato haciendo deporte (edad mínima 14 años).

DECÁLOGO
1- Lee todo el reglamento de la prueba.
2- Escucha con atención las indicaciones del speaker antes de comenzar tu carrera.
3- Todo el recorrido estará indicado y delimitado. Corre siempre por el lado derecho del recorrido, adelanta siempre por la izquierda y vuelve al lado derecho inmediatamente.
4- Si vas a coger el bus hasta la salida acude puntual a la àrada, los autobuses no esperarán por ti.
5- Acude a tu salida con tiempo suficiente para prepararte para la carrera.
6- Guarda tu ropa en las bolsa oficial de la prueba, el guar darropa no aceptará otras bolsas.
7- No olvides hidratarte bien antes, durante y después de la carrera. No esperes a tener sed para beber.
8- Si quieres retirarte, hazlo en un punto de avituallamiento, comunícaselo al personal de carrera y entrégale tu dorsal.
9- Tienes un máximo de 6 horas para completar los 42195 m. Habrá tiempos de corte situados en los avituallamientos, si no llegas dentro del tiempo de corte estarás descalificado automáticamente.
10- ¡Respeta el medio ambiente, a los atletas y diviértete!
Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon te re comienda como zona de aparcamiento las calles colindantes al lugar de la celebración de la Expo, si tuadas en el extremo más al norte de Costa Teguise. Es aconsejable que prestes atención a los horarios de los diferentes eventos para llegar con suficiente antelación, especialmente el día de la carrera.
GUARDARROPA
Se puede depositar una bolsa por dorsal en el servi cio de guardarropa en la zona del Área de Servicios. Sólo se podrá dejar la bolsa oficial facilitada por Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon. Este servicio está disponible para todas las distancias y es deber de cada participante identificar su bolsa con la pe gatina facilitada por la organización. No se recogerá ninguna bolsa ajena a la oficial de la prueba o que no lleve la pegatina con el número de dorsal.
El servicio de guardarropa estará disponible desde las 06:30 horas hasta las 15:00 horas del día 03 de Diciembre.
Las distancias de Medio Maratón y 10km contarán con un servicio extra de guardarropa en las Salidas de Puerto del Carmen y Arrecife. El servicio de guardarropa se encargará de llevar todas las bolsas has ta el Área de Servicios en la Meta.
Es imprescindible mostrar el dorsal para retirar la bolsa.

DO’S and DONT’S
1- Read the rules of the event.
2- Listen carefully to the instructions of the speaker be fore starting the race.
3- The entire route is indicated and delimited. Always run on the right side of the course, always pass by the left and back to the right.
4- If you´re taking the shuttle bus, be at the bus stop on time, the bus will not wait for you.
5- Go to the Starting Point with enough time to prepare for the race.
6- Keep your clothes in the official bag of the event, the cloakroom will not accept others bags.
7- Do not forget to hydrate well before, during and after the race. Do not wait until you´re thirsty to drink.
8- If you want to withdraw, use a refreshment point. Look for the event staff and give them your Bib number.
9- You have a maximum of 6 hours to complete the 42194m. There will be times cut located at the aid sta tions if you do not arrive within the time you´ll be auto matically disqualified.
10- Respect the environment, the other athletes and have fun!
PARKING
Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon recommends parking on the streets nearby to the venue of the Expo, located in the far north of Costa Teguise. It is advisable to pay attention to the start time to each of the events, especially on the race day.
CLOAKROOM
You can deposit a backpack in the cloakroom service in Services Area. You can only leave the official bag provided by Font Vella Lanzarote International Mara thon. This service is available for all distances and it is the duty of each participant to identify your bag with the sticker provided by the organization.
The cloakroom services are available from 06:30 hours to 15:00 hours on the 3th of December.
Distances Half Marathon and 10km will have an extra service in each Starting Point in Puerto del Car men and Arrecife. The cloakroom service will take all bags to the Service Area at the Finish Line.
You must wear your Bib Number to collect back your bag.
