Last year’s event in Malaga was a fitting conclusion to the tennis season, with Italy overcoming Australia in the final to win the Davis Cup title for the first time since 1976.

Message from

Welcome to the Final 8 Knockout Stage of the 2024 Davis Cup Finals.

Davis Cup, the men’s world cup of tennis, was founded in 1900 and has grown to become the largest annual international team competition in sport. A record 157 nations entered Davis Cup this year and competed across multiple levels of the competition from regional events to the pinnacle of the Davis Cup Finals.

The Finals are a true celebration of men’s team tennis. The 2023 Finals were our most successful yet, with superb matches at both the Group Stage and the Final 8. Last year’s event in Malaga was a fitting conclusion to the tennis season,

with Italy overcoming Australia in the final to win the Davis Cup title for the first time since 1976.

Thank you to the players, the captains and the National Associations who make the Davis Cup such a special competition. The revenue that the ITF generates from Davis Cup is reinvested into the development of tennis at national level. By competing in Davis Cup, the players contribute to delivering tennis for future generations.

I wish all of you an enjoyable and successful week.

I love this competition, and the opportunity to build on what we achieved last year is very exciting. It was very special to see the passion of the players and captains and be a part of the amazing atmosphere created by the fans in Malaga.

Message from Feliciano Lopez, Tournament Director, 2024 Davis Cup Finals

Welcome to the Final 8 Knockout Stage of the 2024 Davis Cup Finals.

Iam delighted to return as Tournament Director for the second time after an excellent event in 2023 that was a fitting conclusion to the tennis season.

I love this competition, and the opportunity to build on what we achieved last year is very exciting. It was very special to see the passion of the players and captains and be a part of the amazing atmosphere created by the fans in Malaga. I know we can make this year’s Finals even bigger and better, and I will give everything to make that happen.

Davis Cup was a highlight of my playing career, as I represented Spain between

2003 and 2021, and won the competition four times in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2019.

Having competed alongside Rafael Nadal in Davis Cup Finals in 2009 and 2011, and at the 2019 Finals, it will be an honour to see him retire from the sport in Spain after such an incredible career.

Thank you to the players, the captains and the National Associations who make the Davis Cup such a special competition.

I wish all of you an enjoyable and successful week.

Málaga, a destination for everyone

Culture, gastronomy, lifestyle… A city to be discovered through multiple perspectives

Málaga is a historic city by the Mediterranean Sea. This city has been able to find a balance between its immemorial traditions and the modernity of a city that is at the forefront of tourism and technology.

Málaga is solvently connected in short, medium and long distance. This is due to its exceptional connectivity, with an airport linked to 38 countries and almost 140 cities, three terminals for cruise ships, high speed train connections and an extensive road network.

Some years ago, Málaga made a firm commitment to culture as the driving force behind its tourism development. In this way, Picasso’s city has achieved a wide range of exhibitions with around forty museums, which has been added to its valuable historical-artistic legacy and its charming pedestrianised old town.

But Málaga has explored other possibilities for authentic experiences. Regarding gastronomy, the wide variety on offer and the projection of its talent, with prestigious and Michelin Starawarded chefs, have positioned the city as a model in this category.

At the same time, Málaga is also the perfect destination for lifestyle, premium and shopping tourism. It is an open city with a strong

personality. Málaga has a wide range of options, which allows it to host major events, such as the Davis Cup Final 8. The city is already used to host this event: it hosted it in 2000, in 2003 and since 2022, consecutively. This edition will also have a special meaning due to the retirement of Rafa Nadal, who is one of the most important Spanish sportsmen of all time. •
