In the Gospel of Mark, the story of Jesus’ resurrection starts with the encounter of three women who went to seek a body and discovered that Christ had risen from the dead. This study focuses on these women, emphasizing their importance as female disciples entrusted with the task of proclaiming the Resurrected Christ.

Few biblical women have had such a negative reputation as Eve, the mythical figure from Judeo-Christian origins. However, nothing responds to the account in Genesis 2-3. Upon a closer examination of these chapters, the author does justice to Eve, highlighting her importance as the fundamental referent of humanity.

THEOLOGY
ESSENCE OF CHRISTIAN LIFE Series Paths XL / Paperback with flaps / 15,5 x 23,5 cm
9788428567848
The maturity of the Christian life consists in harmonizing the responsibility of moral action with the acceptance of God’s grace.
Grace Gift and responsibility Felicísimo Martínez Díez Church preaching has too often omitted the wonderful proclamation of grace. It has further emphasised the duty and obligation of each individual to strive to earn the gift of salvation. Among the faithful, this has led to a predominance of morality over mysticism, of duty over gratuitousness, of militancy over the joy of the gifts. The author reminds us that the maturity of Christian life consists precisely in harmonizing gift and responsibility, grace and commitment, the work of God and the humble and responsible labor of the human being. 372 pages / € 21.90

FAITH AND SCIENCE IN DIALOGUE 9788428567305
Series Atrium / Paperback / 13,5 x 21 cm
God and the afterlife in contemporary thought Juan A. Herrero Brasas This book wants to contribute, with enlightening and suggestive reflections, to the dialogue between science and faith. The author first addresses the central arguments on the existence of God and the afterlife, highlighting their relevance for today. He then makes an intellectual analysis, with a certain detachment from current doctrines, of the belief in the Christian God and a succinct study of the relationship between theology and the cultural currents of postmodernity. He then focuses on ethics and religion, examining concepts such as beauty, goodness, virtue, truth and falsehood, often assumed in an uncritical way. Finally, he reflects on religion and culture, taking as examples three outstanding female figures of modern France who have had an extraordinary impact worldwide: Bernadette Soubirous, Thérèse of Lisieux and Simone Weil. 344 pages / € 18.50

Series Paths XL / Paperback with flaps / 15,5 x 23,5 cm
God’s kiss The Beguines and the spirituality of the Beloved and the care of others Prado Pérez de Madrid In the 13th century, in Europe, a group of women decided to free themselves from the constraints imposed on them by society and the Church and to live, in authenticity, a full life based on a loving relationship with God and a social commitment to the poorest members of society. This book rescues their history, forgotten for centuries, and reveals its implications in the 21st century. The author presents their peculiar way of life and offers us the main features of the life and writings of some of the most relevant Beguines: Marguerite Porete, Hadewijch of Antwerp, Mechthild of Magdeburg, Beatrice of Nazareth and Hildegard of Bingen, the last of which can be considered their precursor of the Beguines. The text, which combines history, music, words, mysticism and commitment, includes proposals for personal and community prayer. 348 pages / € 21.90

Beatitudes and Macarisms of St. Teresa of Jesus José Vicente Rodríguez
The beatitudes are at the heart of Jesus’ preaching. They are a synthesis of his kingdom plans and, at the same time, a life program for those of us who follow him. St. Teresa also formulated beatitudes and macarisms —short and wise phrases headed by the word “blessed”— full of boldness, courage and spirituality. Father José Vicente Rodríguez extracts eleven examples from her writings and explains them, showing us the wisdom and greatness of the Saint, who, with the simplicity of her texts, guides us along a path of reflection and profound union with God. 96 pages / € 12.50

THE DISCIPLE’S RESPONSE 9788428569132
Series Ruah / Paperback with flaps / 13,5 x 21 cm
Peter, do you love me? The question remains... Antonio Pavía Martín-Ambrosio Father Antonio Pavia has focused on the dialogue between Jesus and Peter on the shores of the Sea of Tiberias. “Peter, do you love me...? Feed my sheep!”. This is the raison d’être of Lord’s disciples. The question is repeated frequently throughout the book, but on each occasion with a different catechetical nuance. With these reflections, the author wants to help deepen the Christian life, founded on love, and seeks to provoke in the reader the same sincere response of Peter: “Lord, you know that I love you”. For as long as there is someone who responds to this call of Jesus, no one can have the slightest doubt that God keeps on loving the men and women of the whole world.

SPIRITUALITY EMULATING JESUS AND CALLING GOD “ABBA” 9788428567954
Series Ruah / Paperback with flaps / 13,5 x 21 cm
From the author of the Series Religion for dummies Living by God’s hand Another way to overcome loneliness Chema Álvarez Why do we boast about the achievements of humanity, but fail to appreciate the contributions of those who have given us life and the habitat in which we thrive? The author suggests we would benefit from asking ourselves this question, because we still have time to make that “discovery of discoveries” and, making the most of their influence, to orient our existence in the right direction. Hence, these reflections show us the difference between being guided by God’s hand or by our spoiled ego. They also help us discover the usefulness of living hand in hand with him, accepting his company, and allowing ourselves to be guided by the closeness and intimacy exemplified by Jesus, who defined him as “Abba, Father”. These reflections begin with a quotation from the Psalter and are enriched with biblical quotations hat serve as reminders and invitations to remain close to the Father. 216 pages / € 16

Homosexuality God’s reasons Miguel Sánchez Zambrano The author of this book, a family therapist, writes in defense of that minority discriminated by what should be the most inviolable of human beings: the act of loving. With profound respect and a genuine affection for the Church, the author approaches this topic without rancor, without shame, and with forgiveness. Within the pages of this book, which aim to contribute to a peaceful dialogue and encourage a deeper understanding of the subject, he advocates for a substantial transformation in the political, cultural, social, family and religious spheres. Paulus The ultimate historical novel saga about the apostle Paul Father José Antonio Fortea José Antonio Fortea gives a vivid portrayal of St. Paul in this ambitious saga of a historical novel that meticulously and exquisitely traces the journey of the apostle. We encounter the man of flesh and blood, Saul, a former Pharisee, who ultimately transforms into Paulus: God’s lion, pillar, and scribe. In God’s Lion the author introduces us to a young and ambitious Pharisee eager to earn the respect of the Sanhedrin. Then he describes Paul’s first steps after his conversion: what his daily life was like, how he prayed, how he preached... In God’s Pillar he recounts an exciting period in St. Paul’s life: the moment when, filled with zeal to proclaim the Gospel, and having spent time in Antioch where the followers of Jesus were first called Christians, Paul sets forth on his evangelical missions once more. In God’s Scribe the author meticulously traces every step of the apostle, recreating with veracity his conversations with his collaborators, delving into his emotions, and providing a vivid account of his stay in Rome leading up to his martyrdom.
José Antonio Fortea Priest and theologian specialized in the field of demons and exorcisms. He studied Theology at the University of Navarra, graduated in Church History at the Faculty of Theology of Comillas and received his doctorate at the Ateneo Regina Apostolorum in Rome. He belongs to the diocese of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). He is the author of numerous books, among them the Summa Deaemoniaca, the decalogy of novels on the Apocalypse entitled Cyclus apocalypticus, or the ecclesiastical-police story The curious case of the Bishop’s cat’s death. His books have been published in ten languages.
