Dear Simmetal Breeders, I would like to take this opportunity to invite all interested cattlemen and Simmental breeders young and old to the Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo show and sale. On behalf of the DP Sales Management team we always enjoy working with the Kentucky Beef Expo staff, Department of Agriculture and also the support of the Kentucky Farm Bureau to this annual event. The Kentucky Simmental Association prides is itself as having one of the best breed shows and sales each year at the Expo. This years Simmental show and sale could be the best ever at the Expo. The consignors are from Kentucky and five different states. I encourage each interested party to come and view the offering. The consignors are bringing their best. The selection is strong in all categories, whether you are searching for a herdsire, breds, replacement females, SimAngus or a competitive show heifer for the Eastern Regionals in Morehead or the National Junior Heifer show in Missouri it will be worth your trip to the Kentucky Beef Expo. Also, the genetic lots are from some of the entire breeds best. The genetic lots are highlighted by two daughters of the Valentine donor. We are proud of the fact that many breed leaders and top animals at many of the major shows are bred and raised by Kentucky Simmental breeders. Many of these same genetics are here at the Kentucky Beef Expo sale. The Expo is a strong agriculture gathering place with many event s taking place throughout the schedule of the expo. Be sure to take in the trade show, pen heifer sale, breed sales and the junior heifer and steer show. Don’t forget all open sale heifers are eligible to show on Sunday for junior heifer show and percentage show. Also, remember if you are a Kentucky Junior and purchase a animal bred in Kentucky check out the Kentucky Proud program. The Simmental and SimAngus shows on Sunday are some of the best shows and highly competitive. Also, don’t forget the annual meeting to be held Friday evening at the Cardinal restaurant just outside the back of the fairgrounds. If you have any questions prior or during the sale week please contact Drew Hatmaker or myself, plus Jeremie Ruble or Dalton Lundy. As always we look forward to visiting with you at the Simmental sale. Again don’t forget the selection is strong

• Valentine as many breeders expected has become of the top SimAngus
donors.Valentine along with her daughters are becoming sought after genetics because of the completeness, marketability and show ring track record. All these things are important however superior animals have to produce the right kind for today’s market place plus work in the real word. The Hadden donor, Right to Love was the 2009 champion at the American Royal. In last years expo a flush sold for $7,000 to Hudson Pines. This donor will pass on the same strong attributes of her mother in each select mating. In the recent Denver sales Valentines popularity maintains strength and again was a sale topper. Remember Right to Love is a 3/4 and will produce those purebred genetics of a high degree. Selling two sets of three, one by the Harkers Domination and the other by the past North American champion, BMR Explorer. Guaranteeing one pregnancy off each set of three. • Hadden Simmentals

• Here is another strong genetic lot at the Kentucky Expo. Flat Rock
Farms is offering a flush on their many time champion and donor, MP/RP Valentine 103U. This female is a top daughter of the Valentine donor which sold for 75,000 to Sugar Creek Ranch. Valentine 103U is sired by Lazy H Pathfinder and is destined to hold her own and be a consistent producer just like all the members of the Valentine family. Wyatt Jester has shown this female to many championships and the comments from all judges has been super positive and quote she will be one heck of a cow. At the 2009 North American 103U was reserve division champion in both the Junior show and open show. This 3/4 donor has the softness and completeness to produce elite genetics for future years. On this young donor you have the opportunity to share in genetics on the front end of her production. Flat Rock farms is offering a flush to the bull of your choice with a minimum of six embryos and a open top. Valentine 103U calved in January and will be ready to be flushed soon after the sale. Flush to be done by Dr. Micheal Hardy. For additional details on the flush please contact Ted Jester at Flat Rock. Genetics that will help any program flourish. • Flat Rock Farms

• We at Double Diamond selected a flush out of the Ante Up sale from
the CNS Antoinette S609 donor. S609 is one of the top daughters of the Antoinette K205 donor, It is hard to keep up with all the progeny that this legendary family has produced over the years. Many champions and sale toppers have derived from this family line that is why we at Double Diamond invested in a flush. With our successful flush we are able to share some genetics. We selected the homozygous polled and homozygous black ABS, Added Value as the sire of choice to click with S609. With his solid EPD proof and overall design we feel confident that the progeny will benefit our young program plus help the buyers as well. • The Mabelle donor is a proven brood cow that we selected from the
PIne Ridge dispersal. This Gambler female is just like the picture being deep, broody, smooth made and just plain complete. A baldie with a good track record with her most recent accomplishments is her son, Blazin Hot that semen is being marketed by Slate Farms. This baldie herdsire is sired by Accelerated Genetics/ Sloup and Luebbue stud bull, Welsh Dew it Right. The eggs you have the opportunity to purchase would be full sibs to Blazin Hot. Also, we flushed Mabelle to Sygen C and C a high EPD Angus bull for hopefully some superb SimAngus progeny. We had the misfortune in losing the donor Mabelle so we will market very few embryos out of this impressive and proven donor. Selling 3 embryos out of each mating quarantining 1 pregnancy. • Reality Farm

After purchasing her we knew that our senior herdsire Welsh’s Dew It Right would be a ideal mating. Double R Kashmere is a moderate framed square made individual with depth of body and a overall balanced design. Most importantly this donor has a picture perfect udder and a sound structure that the whole family is noted for. Generations and generations of solid and dependable genetics are on both sides of the pedigree. The first progeny of Dew it Right looks good and the EPDs are solid in all areas plus he offers calving ease and carcass merit. Selling 5 embryos and guaranteeing 2 pregnancies. T024 has been flushed and will continue to be so we can produce more like Tessa. Dream On needs no explanation in what he has done in the Simmental business. This was a mating that worked. As you study this heifer you will love her depth, length and overall style. As the 240J cows era is coming to an end this one is exceptionally hard to part with. She is backed by Champions on both sides of her pedigree, 240J was AJSA Classic Champion in 2001 and Mo Majic was Champion Bull in Kansas City, Denver and Fort Worth. Being a ¾ blood you have the option of making purebred calves. Jasmine is an outcross pedigree to Dream On, Meyer, and Trademark lines. The breeding possibilities are endless in this female. • What a truck! This Movin Forward son out of the record selling Built
SS/DC Movin Up Town
DR Built Like A Dream - reference 16 Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo
Like a Dream should really be a top breeding piece in any progressive program. We bought Movin Forward for two basic reasons- one because his proven outcross pedigree and the other was to add some shape and power to some of today’s popular bloodlines. We’ll after looking at this bull you will see he’s is doing everything we asked. Movin Up Town is a super stout bull that is wide based, big footed and soft middled! They say a man is only as the good as the woman behind him: could you ask for a better woman than Built Like A Dream! Homo polled and the results of the color test should be in by sale day. A rare opportunity to add a real breed changer to your operation! Owners are retaining 25% semen interest in this young stud. Call us or DP Sales Management for more information. • Sanders Ranch, LLC

• This is the first bull to sell out of Miley Cottontail, and he is sure to
make his momma proud. Convict is good structured, deep, thick, stout made, and has an attractive profile. He has a great set of EPDs, being in the top 1% for growth and TI, top 20% API. Convict was only 6 months old in this picture and he’s changed a lot since then. The first calf out of Cottontail sold at the North American for $17,500 for half interest. Come see for yourself, he should make a super herdsire. Reserving 25% semen interest. • Happy 6 Simmentals
