Welcome to the Dixie National! Now that the Holiday season is behind us and the New Year has come and gone, it is time to be in full swing into the spring bull and female sales. It is always an exciting time of the year when breeders from across the Southeast and East converge on Jackson, Mississippi. We invite you to be with us this year at the Dixie National Simmental / Simbrah sale on February 8th. The Dixie National is the place to be in Mississippi during the stock show and rodeo. We don’t want anyone to miss out on any of the action. A new change for this year’s sale is that the Mississippi Simmental/ Simbrah Association has invited and welcome our Angus friends to be part of the sale. Also, the sale time has been moved up to 3:00. As always the sale the auction for the Simmental/ Simbrah and Angus sale will take place in the Dixie sales arena. Here we will be offering some of the top genetics that will be offered in the South for the spring. We invite all breeders both commercial and seed stock producers to come and view the offering during the week and on display sale day. There will be a diverse offering including opens, bred heifers, bulls, and genetic lots including Simmentals, Simbrah, Sim-Angus, and Angus. There are many highlights this year sale however one to mention is the Pick of fall calf crop from JRW. Come early and take a look and get your seat the sales arena fills up fast! This year we have several new consignors and this always has been the only sale at the Dixie National. We feel that there has never been a better time to be in the seed stock business in the state of Mississippi. The hospitality of this combined group and the Mississippi Simmental Simbrah Association is strong. President Mark Smith and sale chairman Brad Woods welcome everyone to the sale. They have a strong junior and adult association. Also, Jessica Smith will be on hand sale day. Everyone is proud of her as she fills out her term as AJSA President. We hope you will come and be part of the Dixie. If you have any questions on any matters pertaining to the sale please do not hesitate to contact any consignor or any of the DP Sales team. Also, contact sale chairman Brad Woods 601-441-0539 or President Mark Smith 601-310-6695 for any assistance to buyers or attendees to the sale. If you have questions regarding the sale offering please call Drew or myself. If you can’t attend we don’t want you to miss out of some great genetics so give us a call. It is with great excitement that we at JRW open the gates to offer the Pick of the Fall Calf Crop here at the Dixie National. We feel this set of calves are the best yet and have something to offer any breeding program. This is a rare opportunity to choose from any 2013 Fall born calf with none held back. These matings are what we feel are some of the best genetics the breed has to offer with over half being straight from the core of our ET program. You will have the opportunity to choose progeny from donors such as 3F Jilt 3001, ASC Antoinette U612, SVF/NJC Sheza Angel R900, GCC Sheza Jewel 141X, Limestone Star W803 and the anchor of our program SVF/CLRWTR Sheza Star T800. The sire line-up includes NLC Upgrade, MR HOC Broker, W/C United, JF Milestone, BC Lookout, OMF Full Tilt, W/C Widetrack, Triple C Singletary and the immortal SVF Steel Force to name a few. The females included in this pick will put banners on the wall but more importantly, they will be genetic pieces to a profitable puzzle for the new owner. I could go on and on about the future of several of the bulls because believe me, they are bred to excel with both the performance and phenotype that will produce progeny with added value. The opportunity is yours on February 8, don’t let this one get away. Pick to be made by April 15, 2014. Call Brad Woods or Johnny Ingram to discuss the possibilities of this Dixie National Sale Feature.

Triple C Diamonds is out of another breed legend, Hollywood Queen. We have several nice progeny on the ground with loads of potential and know Cecil and Shani do as well. We are offering choice of embryos by Lock N Load and Broker. Both of these bulls are doing a great job across the industry and should click well with Diamond. Many breeders may remember that Diamond is a past many time champion in the state of Mississippi and the Dixie National. Actually, we purchased Diamond after seeing her at the Dixie National and winning cow calf champion.

Wow what a heifer. I believe this is a half-blood a breeder could build a program with. Dixie Chick has a gorgeous front, a strong level top, a pile of rib and volume, and is sound all around. The topside genetic value should be evident based on the 4 Shock and Awe daughters in this sale. On the bottom, 6595 was a pathfinder sire regarded as one of the best female producers in the Angus breed. Next on Chick’s list are Bando 155 and Traveler 6807 -- both legendary Angus sires known for performance and phenotype. You can find newer Angus genetics than Chick carries, but I don’t know if you can find any better ones. This heifer is her dam’s third calf. The first two, bulls, were snapped up by Hensgens Cattle Co of south LA. After Allie calves this year, she’ll be in the donor program.

This show prospect is backed by the Rachael (E161 x 8180) and has strong track of producing the right kind. A half sister was 4th overall at the 2013 National AJSA show for Chesney Effling in South Dakota. 3038’s grand dam was Ft Worth and Dixie National Grand Champion Angus female. If you’re looking for a heifer that combines loads of eye appeal and width with a pedigree backed by breed leading females look no further. Study her pedigree closely. Her dam offers maternal power from the female producing Macho and the super consistent Elsa donor for C&C Farms, and to top it off she’s sired by a son of the great Meyer’s Queen Sazerac and Ebony’s Trademark. Her pedigree is just stacked with great donors. This moderate framed beauty is great haired and should be a fun one to haul down the road, and when her show career is over she’ll surely go on to be the front pasture kind.

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. Here is a special lot and a place where breeders should take notice and seize the opportunity. We sampled and flushed a couple cows to Harvie Wallbanger. This Canadian bred bull the last several years has been a leader producer in Canada for Harvie Ranches and several others. Wallbanger sons and daughter have topped most all the sales in Canada with Capt Morgan selling for a record of $190,000. Now at JRW and Ingram we both have Wallbanger calves on the ground and they arrived small and are looking very promising. The donor Sheza Star always no matter what sire always seems to have the right type and kind. Her daughters and sons are always been in high demand and been among the sale toppers. More Wallbanger calves will arrive this spring across the U.S. so it’s not too late to get involved on the front end of superior sire. Selling three embryos guarantee one pregnancy. With a bullet proof EPD profile this young herdsire can do a lot of good for whatever breeding program you may have. His 6 year old dam T785 has worked her way into the donor program after producing 3 natural calves for an average of over $7,000 . If you are able to make it to the Dixie be sure to check out his maternal sib Z785 who will be our show string.

Here is a super attractive bull with great shape. He’s real nice necked, long and level, with a cool hip and hind leg. When you get behind him he’s shapely and massive, and super flexible on the move. Maternal sisters are working at Clearwater in Indiana and Campbell’s in PA. No doubt the greatest upside to this guy is Reba 5302R who now resides at Eby Ranch, in Kansas. His disposition is excellent and has quality hair. We should be keeping part of him but he’s 100% available to the new buyer. His pedigree is proven, the picture is taken, all you have to do is turn him out and brag to your neighbors about your new bull.

We are pleased for the Dixie National Simmental sale committee to add some top notch Angus to the sale as well. We offer one of our best. Here is a March born female we feel can complete and after her show career no doubt will develop into a productive front pasture kind. A female that is sleek made thru her front one third and soft middled. 3101 is just a complete individual. A female sired by the $150,000 Express Ranch herd bull, EXAR Classen and her dam and grand dam are both donors at R and R. Her paper work is good.
