Welcome to the 2019 Shiloh Cattle Company “Trendsetter” Bull & Replacement Heifer Sale. As I sat down to reflect on this past year and write our welcome letter, the first word that came to mind was grateful. We are sincerely grateful to be a part of this amazing beef industry that is full of so many incredible cattle men and women, many of whom we are proud to call our friends. We are grateful that so many of you consider our program to fulfill your herd’s requirements for new herd sires or replacement heifers, and we truly appreciate your business and confidence in our breeding stock. 2018 was yet another year that mother nature tested us all, with a calving season that was amongst the coldest on record and although we had a sufficient snowfall, by late spring the moisture disappeared with no relief in sight for the rest of the summer. This resulted in less than desirable hay and grain crops. Many farmers and ranchers downsized their herds or land base to compensate. However, most of us persevered and made it work, and for that, once again, we are grateful. We had a busy fall on the cattle show circuit promoting our breeding program and were very excited as our yearling herd sire, Red DKF Racer 8E, achieved Grand Champion Bull at Olds Fall Classic, Farmfair International, and Canadian Western Agribition. Racer was also named the Canadian Angus Association’s National Champion Junior Red Angus Bull of 2018 and the 2018 Red Angus Show Bull of the Year. As well, Racer was announced the Angus Silver Medal Champion of North America. Be sure to watch for his offspring in our 2020 Bull Sale. Not to be outdone, our herd sire, Red Mar Mac Debut 70D, was the 2018 Canadian Angus Association’s National Champion 2 Year Old Red Angus Bull. We are hoping to have both of these sires on display at this year’s bull sale. With that said, we are more than excited with our offering of Purebred and Crossbred bulls and replacement heifers for this year’s sale. They are cattle that are sure to be at the leading edge for temperament, performance, soundness, structural correctness, and calving ease. Our 5th annual “Trendsetter” Bull Sale will once again be held here at the Ranch in our Sale Barn. The bulls and replacement heifers will be on display just steps outside the warmth of the sale barn. Viewing of the sale bulls and heifers starts at 10:00 AM sale day, but please feel free to contact us anytime to arrange for viewing before sale day. There will be hospitality on offer before and after the sale as well as a full course meal from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm with the sale to follow at 12:30. Red DKF Racer 8E took us on an amazing journey in 2018. We purchased Racer at Canadian Western Agribition in 2017 from Eric Fettes of DKF Angus. Since then, Racer has achieved several Championships and Grand Championships. We are more than excited to watch as his first set of offspring mature over the next year and are looking forward to seeing them excel in other breeding programs as well as our own. Maternal Red Angus X Black Simmental We are very proud of this group of Angus / Simmental cross bred bulls out of a powerful group of our Red Angus females, and some outstanding purebred Simmental genetics we have sought out from the forward thinking program at City View Simmentals in Saskatchewan. All of these “MAX” ( Maternal Angus Cross ) bulls were weaned on October 27th and, just like our purebred bulls feeding program, were put on a hay / pea straw mix and fed a 13% protein pellet based on 1.6% of body weight. We do not push our breeding stock in our program here at Shiloh Cattle , because we believe these bulls need to be able to go from our ranch, straight out to pasture, under hard grass ranching conditions , and still be able to perform throughout breeding season and for seasons to come. This year’s “MAX” bulls are out of City View Aftershock 313A. We have a great degree of confidence in this powerful sire and the group of females we chose for him. Settlement prior to any cattle released.As soon as an animal is sold, it becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. Any animal remaining at Shiloh Cattle Company must be Insured. Livestock coverage will be available from the clerkâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s desk on sale day. 2. CERTIFICATE AND REGISTRY: Certificate of registry dually transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each registered animal after complete and full payment has been made. 3. IDENTIFICATION: Each animal will carry a CCIA digital frequency tag as well as a ear tag. 4. BREEDERS GUARANTEE: All cattle are sound and right to sell with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of an unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply. Any complaints regarding fertility of any animal in the sale shall be directed to the breeder.
