I

n the heart of Ortigas Center lies an almost inconspicuous Italian bar and restaurant within Edsa Shangri-La. Known to

many as the place for delicious and authentic Italian fare in this side of the metro, Paparazzi takes the Italian dining experience up a notch with its very own barrel-aged Negroni cocktail. If you find the Negroni a bit strong for your taste, don’t be quick to dismiss its barrel-aged, enhanced version. The Negroni, as it is, is known for its punchy, bitter tang. When barrel-aged, the process then mellows down the sharp tones of the gin and Campari concoction. A woody, nutty flavor is picked up from the oak over time, resulting into a smooth, deeper taste. Definitely a must-try.

Begin in squat position. Drop to the floor and thrust your legs back so that you end up in a high plank position. Lower your chest to the ground, and then raise it back up to plank. Frog-jump your feet up to meet your hands; then jump vertically and land in a squat.

Begin with lying face up on the floor with knees bent, curl the shoulders towards the pelvis. The hands can be behind or beside the neck or crossed over the chest.

Lower your body by bending your arms. Go down until your shoulders are below your elbows at the bottom. Rise up. Lift your body back up to the starting position by straightening your arms. You can do this convenient move on a chair, bench, or the floor.

SET A TIMER FOR 15 MINUTES. PERFORM 12 REPS FOR EACH MOVE BELOW, BACK-TO-BACK, RESTING ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. REPEAT FOR AS MANY ROUNDS AS POSSIBLE. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR ROUNDS.

Stand with feet wider than shoulder-width apart, toes turned out. Keeping your torso straight, push knees out over toes to lower into a squat. Explosively jump up pointing through toes. Land softly and repeat.

Start in top of push-up position. Take 3 seconds to lower chest to floor, then push back up quickly. At the top of the move, tap left shoulder with right fingertips. Return hand to floor. Repeat, this time tapping right shoulder with left fingertips.

Start in the top of a push-up position with wrists positioned below shoulders. Extend your right arm out parallel to the floor for a slow count of 15 to 20, focusing on contracting the muscles in your upper back. Repeat on the opposite side.

PLANK PIKE

Targets abs and lower back

Start in a low plank with elbows under shoulders and toes tucked. Pike hips and drive right knee forward. Return hips and foot to starting position. Repeat with left knee.

Targets quads, calves, glutes and hamstrings

Stand with heels shoulder-width apart, toes turned out slightly, arms stacked in front of chest. Press hips back to lower into a squat. Go as low as you can without losing the natural curve in your lower back. Jump up as high as you can, tucking the knees to the chest.

LATERAL JUMP Targets calves

Lower into a quarter squat and explosively jump up and over to your right. Land softly and repeat to the left.
