The metal panel roof ofIan Earthship collects waterIin tanks buried under the landfill on eachIside of the house. This waterIis filtered and pumped into aIpressurized tank for householdIsupply to showers, baths, and sinks. Drainage is cleaned andIrecycled for interiorIplants and toilets beforeIit is discharged into a wasteItreatment cell outsideIof the house.
