In the early 70s Loretta left her native Liverpool to embark on a career as a young professional dancer and returned some years later as one of Britain’s leading choreographers/directors.
She created, choreographed and appeared in a dynamic vocal/dance act which toured extensively throughout the world, attracting so much attention that she was soon in demand to develop other acts of a similar nature. As her reputation grew, so did the number of companies that invited her to apply her creative sparkle to their own productions, including Butlin’s Holiday Centres, P&O cruises, Qdos Entertainments, Duo Entertainment and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Whilst with the latter company she staged and choreographed the renowned Viva Shows and brought an entirely new look to the long established ice spectacular Hot Ice. Her highly successful association with Ice Shows led her to choreograph Ice Fantasia and Christmas Shows for Gandi’s Circus.
Other aspects of Loretta’s varied career include choreographing a new stage show for the hit recording group Bucks Fizz, and she is delighted to have been nominated and won the prestigious Carl Alan Professional award. She is also well known for her outstanding work with children and is principal of the North West’s largest theatre school for boys and girls, many of whom are now working in the industry or as teachers themselves. She has dedicated the last 21 years to training young people in all aspects of the theatre and through her reputation in the industry has been able to give them that all important first job on the road to success.
Directing pantomime has been part of Loretta’s schedule now for the last decade. Cinderella, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Beanstalk and Peter Pan have all been given her unique and imaginative flair. She is delighted to be working once more with Brian Blessed in her favourite pantomime Peter Pan at the Ashcroft Theatre Croydon for 2008/09.
