for the sons and daughters,
their friends, and the ones who will be their friends, the ones who are parents and the ones who will be, the ones who haven’t been parents, and the ones who won’t be, the ones who were, the occident and the orient, the ones who believe in something that can not be explained, he who is the father of all children, whoever he is. in order that, forever, sons and daughters can have sons and daughters
january
Things and people are different. People do different things and things make people different.
february
People who are different are happy together, and might have different ways to believe, pray or love. They say there is only one God, but they worship him differently.
march
Everyone is important and has a history, they were (and still are) joyful and sorrowful and keep living. Everyone needs to hear ‘good morning’, ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and above all they need a gaze directed to theirs.
april
Always presume that people are trustworthy and presume anything else that includes respect for yourself and the others. The one who takes care of you the most is yourself, and you don’t need anyone around to know what is right.
may
Sometimes people are not what they are but they are what they could be. Be aware that you, who is reading this calendar, are different because you can read it. Sometimes we can help people to be the same by – for example – teaching the ones who do not know to learn and understand what they read.
june
This letter is colourful like my dreams and yours. At some time our dreams can be the same but they might have different colours, scents, places and flavours. The fact that we are the same approximates us; the fact that we are different, too.
july
Just like you, I have picked my nose and fought with my brother. I did things I was expected to do, even though I did not want to do what was expected from me. We are the same on that and may other things.
august
We are the same when we want to change the world. We are the same because we do not do everything we can for that to happen.
september
We are different because I’m bald and you are not (or because your bald head is not the same as mine). We are the same because we enjoy travelling and we are different because we look at the same things by different ways.
october
We are different because I miss my grandparents that you did not meet. We are the same because we both want to be happy. We are different because we hug our friends differently and we are the same because we should hug them more.
november
We are different because you will grow up and will do things I have not done. We are the same because you will grow up as happy as I did. We are different because you will have your truths, beliefs and memories and we are the same because I will love your stories like I love mine.

edson natale loves the sound and the silence; the writing and the words. always dreams and plays. has a mother who is Egyptian and a father who is a mechanician. you can write to him on natalenat@uol.com.br my name is barmak my drawings have the shape of my head. my head finds infinite other heads on the paper. shape is the empty, acting and reacting, like a dream. sometimes the tip of the pen pierces the paper and through that hole is possible to see the light.
