Leading language learning innovation The EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) is the world's largest ranking of English skills – developed to better understand how to raise language proficiency. Used by the EF EPI, the EF Standard English Test (EFSET) is the world’s first free standardized English test created by us in collaboration with leading linguists, testing experts and academics.

The EF English Proficiency Index The world's largest ranking of English skills The EF EPI was created to compare the average English language ability of adults in different countries. It’s the first index of its kind, collating a unique set of data gathered over seven years from nearly five million adults using free English tests. The EF EPI's aim is to provide a unique perspective on what strategies are successful in raising English proficiency.
In addition to the EF EPI, we’ve also developed a customized English test for students that gives educators and students the chance to become part of the EF EPI’s groundbreaking research. Boost your teaching skills EF is dedicated to helping educators enhance their teaching skills and continually raise the bar in language education. We offer a range of courses suitable for teaching professionals of any age and experience level.
EF Teacher Training Course As well as teaching languages to thousands of students, EF also trains educators in the latest language teaching methodologies. Our course methodology We use a range of different processes to track your success, ensuring you continually evaluate your progress and gain the most from your course. Classroom observation A portion of the Teacher Training Course involves observing experienced native teachers working with mixed-nationality classes. Peer teaching You’ll get the chance to prepare and present two lessons to fellow course participants. Your tutor and group will then provide feedback to help improve your teaching ability. Individual assessment During the course, you’ll be given individual feedback from EF teachers to help with your progress. Certified success Upon successful completion of your course, you’ll receive an EF Teacher Training Certificate, which recognizes both the theoretical and practical professional skills you’ve acquired. Accommodation Options On a Teacher Training Course with EF, you’ll stay either with one of our carefully-selected host families, in an EF Residence or on an EF Campus.

EF TESOL Course The EF TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course equips you with the basic skills needed to teach English as a foreign language. It's the ideal way to prepare for a career in education, whether at home or abroad. As part of your three-month TESOL course, you'll sit the respected TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) certificate. You don’t need any previous teaching experience to apply for the EF TESOL course – you just need to test to EF English level B2 or higher. An Innovative Curriculum EF’s TESOL course curriculum combines theory with hands-on practical experience. Through processes including peer teaching and classroom observations, you’ll enhance your skills beyond language fluency. At the end of the course, you’ll leave with knowledge of how to effectively manage and communicate in the classroom. About the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) The TKT makes sure educators know how to communicate English instruction in classrooms across the world. This distinguished test, developed by Cambridge English, focuses on key practices used by teachers of English at all levels – from primary to adult education. EF Boston – our TESOL study center EF’s TESOL courses operate at our language school in Boston, United States. This cosmopolitan city on America’s east coast is home to over 70 colleges and universities. Our inviting school sits close to the city’s downtown area, surrounded by 17 acres of garden space.

The Language Education Innovation Forum The Language Education Innovation Forum, initiated by EF, brings together leaders from a wide spectrum of interests to share their insights on the future of language learning, shared communication and international education.
Defining the future of language education As global society becomes more connected, competitive and cooperative, the need for shared communication grows more urgent. Learning languages empowers individuals and communities to participate and shape their futures. Language educators, researchers, publishers and policymakers all share an interest in making this happen in the most efficient, effective and engaging way possible. Today, insight from diverse fields are being drawn together in educational research and practice to provide a way forward for innovation and better learning. EF Education First convened the Language Education Innovation Forum to spark a conversation around language learning solutions that can make a difference in the classroom and beyond. Select participants from a wide spectrum of fields, from government policy to digital learning, came together
to share their experiences in a lively and interactive program. With speakers and participants from over 30 countries, the Forum provides a truly global context to discuss language research, learning technology, assessment, policy, and teacher development.
