EF and the Olympics 5
From Seoul to Sochi, Beijing to Rio, our partnership with the Olympic Games has helped millions of people learn English. EF has been appointed the Official Education Services Sponsor of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The appointment represents the fifth occasion that EF has teamed up with the Olympics following the Games in Seoul, Beijing, Sochi and Rio de Janeiro. EF will help PyeongChang welcome the world by providing our innovative Winter Games Curriculum to over 200,000 students and teachers across South Korea. As well as our Olympic-themed classroom learning materials, digital education tools about the Games and Winter Olympic sports will be made available to the general public. EF has also been named the Official Partner for Language Training Services at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Take part in global research 8 The EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) is the world’s largest ranking of countries by English skills. Now in its sixth edition, the EF EPI collates data from the millions of people who take the EFSET to produce a unique comparison on English proficiency around the world.
In addition to the EF EPI, we’ve also developed a customized report detailing the language acquisition of secondary and tertiary students. Known as the EF English Proficiency Index for Schools (EF EPI-s), the data collected helps EF conduct groundbreaking research into improving language learning in classrooms around the world.

Speak, inspire and win The goal of the EF Challenge is to foster international dialogue by encouraging students from around the world to present their ideas, engage a global audience and show how communication skills can change the world. By entering, your students will join an inspiring conversation with participants from around the world. All your students have to do to participate is answer the competition question with a compelling two- to five-minute speech in English. EF Teacher Training Course As well as teaching languages to students, EF also trains educators in the latest teaching methodologies. Our Teacher Training Course uses a range of processes to track your success, ensuring you gain the most from your course. Classroom observation You'll observe experienced native teachers working with mixed-nationality classes. Peer teaching You’ll prepare and present two lessons to fellow course participants. EF TESOL Course The EF TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course equips you with the basic skills needed to teach English as a foreign language. You don’t need any previous teaching experience to apply for the EF TESOL course at EF Boston or EF Malta – you just need to test to EF English level B2 or higher. An innovative Curriculum EF’s TESOL course curriculum combines theory with hands-on practical experience. Through processes including peer teaching and classroom observations, you’ll enhance your skills beyond language fluency. At the end of the course, you’ll leave with knowledge of how to effectively manage and communicate in the classroom. About the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) The TKT makes sure educators know how to communicate English instruction in classrooms across the world.
