THE HULT STUDENT
Bongi Kellner German/Tanzanian Class of 2018 London campus Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in Marketing Languages spoken: German, English Why Hult? Hult was so intriguing to me because it wasn’t typical. I thought it would be good to learn in an environment where everyone was diverse, but all had the same interest—studying business. And it’s been a great experience. It teaches you a lot about yourself, especially when it comes to working with other people.
“Despite the fact that there will always be differences, at Hult we learn to embrace them and achieve something together.”
Why London? I knew I wanted to study in central London. The best thing about being a student here is the opportunities you get from being so central. Attending all the networking events, seeing successful businesses, and understanding how the business world actually works. Clubs and societies: I’m using my time here to get involved in as many things as possible, to take as much from the experience as I can. I’m a member of the African Society, the Social Impact Club, and I am a Global Ambassador for Hult. Life on campus: We have a relatively small community here at Hult, which makes for a great atmosphere on campus and in the classroom. You know most people you see around campus, and the classes are small enough that you can really engage with the professor and ask questions. To me, Hult is... a place where you get a real taste of what it’s like to work in the business world.

“There is an innovative mindset that surrounds me here. I can think about extraordinary things, seemingly impossible things, and the attitude is always the same: nothing is impossible.”
Giovanni Martinez Dominican Class of 2020 San Francisco campus Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in Finance Languages spoken: Spanish, English Why Hult: I felt it was the school that could contribute most to my personal goals. I need a global, entrepreneurial, and innovative mindset for the business ideas I have. Why San Francisco? San Francisco is the technological capital of the world, a place where people don’t settle for ordinary things. No matter how unusual or futuristic my business ideas may be, there will always be someone ready to support me. The Hult difference: Here you take classes with professors that have, or had, their own businesses, so they can transmit to us the reality of the business world, instead of us simply reading it in a book. There are many students as well that have created companies; this motivates us even more to create our own. Everyone is always collaborating with each other, which makes this an amazing environment for personal growth. Most memorable experience: Going to a Golden State basketball game with seniors. It was out of my comfort zone but I loved every second of it! To me, Hult is... the Bay Bridge to an innovative and changeable business world. Hear from more Hult students: hult.edu/ug-stories

“The school is constantly changing, developing, and applying the rapid changes our generation needs to prepare us for our future career and our future goals.”
Aeron Alzaga Filipino Class of 2017 London campus Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in Marketing Languages spoken: Tagalog, English, Spanish Interests: My interests merge science, the creative industries, and business. I wanted to become a doctor initially, and I’ve been an artist and designer since my younger years. At Hult I’ve explored subjects that have shaped me as a person, without losing my original identity. Clubs and societies: I’ve loved being involved in many clubs during my time at Hult: Xpress Magazine, the Business of Fashion Club, the Asian Society, the Arts and Culture Club, and the Drama Club. The Hult difference: You’ll be exposed to different cultures through campuses across the world, but the spirit and DNA is the same throughout. The campus may change externally but the same heartbeat is within. Career preparation: Hult offers so many career services that help us. This year alone I’ve really enjoyed hearing from Bloomberg and Amazon. They were really personal, and made the business and corporate world more relatable—it helps you imagine yourself working there in the near future. Most memorable experience: Spending time with people from different nationalities, learning different languages, and being able to adjust to various situations, as well as adopting and respecting the other cultures that surround me. To me, Hult is... my future, my family.

“I chose Hult because I wanted to go to a school where people are passionate about education, business, and about networking with different people from all over the world.” Irina Lisii Moldovan Class of 2017 London campus Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in Management Languages spoken: Romanian, Russian, English Why Hult? I knew that being part of a multicultural environment would not only help me become more open-minded, but would also help me in the workplace. Why London? Honestly, the best thing about being a student here is the power London has to connect people. Life on campus: I always feel that I’m learning something new. The diversity of people means everyone is able to express their ideas, and often generates conversations and unique solutions that would not be possible otherwise. Career preparation: I was so impressed by the amazing speakers—every week there is a different speaker. The tips that I’m getting are invaluable. Practical experience: In my Change Management course, we were set a challenge by Transport for London (TfL). The feeling we had as a team when the TfL representative showed how amazed he was with our solution was priceless. Being able to work on challenges brought to us by different companies from all around the world really enables us to get a taste of the real world before we even graduate. The Hult difference: Studying business at Hult means learning by experience. The professors are extremely inspiring, pushing us to think beyond boundaries. I think the main difference between Hult and other business schools out there is that Hult really understands what education nowadays should be about. To me, Hult is... life-changing. Pranav Chheda Indian Class of 2018 San Francisco campus Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in Entrepreneurship Languages spoken: English, Hindi, Kutchi, Gujarati, Marathi Why Hult? I knew I wouldn’t be in the same campus, the same atmosphere, and the same culture for four years. I’d be able to travel and experience different regions around the world. I really want to open a multinational company, and being here gives me the opportunity to travel and experience diverse business practices. Clubs and societies: I’m part of the Entrepreneurship Club and Tech Club. These clubs really represent the Silicon Valley culture and have helped me experience how startups and companies here function. We’ve visited nearby companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook to hear their success stories.
“If you are someone like me who has a plan or a business idea, Hult is an amazing place to be. The atmosphere makes you feel enthusiastic and encouraged about starting a business.”
The Hult difference: The assignments not only guide you in terms of theory, but also help you to develop a company, take the idea further, and put it to action. This is different from other schools where the main purpose of a bachelor degree is to learn the theory first—then pursue your ideas after graduation. At Hult, it is all part of the same experience, which is extraordinary. Most memorable experience: A guest speaker, the founder of Veem, gave our class a challenge to develop a pitch to disrupt the market within 10 minutes. We then had to choose a team and present together. He said: “If in 19 minutes you come up with an idea and a plan, imagine what you can do with 19 years of life and an education behind you. Let’s be entrepreneurs and leaders of the future.” To me, Hult is... energetic and exciting, with so much opportunity.

Alexandra Welch American/Dominican Class of 2017 London campus Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in Marketing Languages spoken: English, Spanish Why Hult? I thrive off of experiencing different cultures and so would also like to travel to as many different countries as I can. One thing I really admire about Hult is the emphasis it puts on students studying abroad and learning how to practice business in all different kinds of environments. Favorite course: My favorite course at Hult was Integrated Marketing Communications. Our professor invited many guest speakers to our lectures to help make the content really relevant. Clubs and societies: I am currently participating in the Hult Prize competition. I’ve also founded the Lumiere Media Club at Hult. I’m a member of the Organization of Clubs and Societies group, and a representative for The Homeless Period charity. These are all really important to me. Careers support: With the help of my career advisor, I have created a strong CV and career plan. I’ve also secured an internship at Mango Pay. To me, Hult is... the foundation for modern international business professionals like us.

Students who come to Hult from four-year high schools typically enter on the U.S. Standard Track and attend Hult for four years, earning 30 credits per year. This is the typical undergraduate timeline for most American undergraduate colleges and universities.
Many schools outside of the U.S., particularly in Europe, have an extra year of high school, meaning students typically earn their bachelor degree in just three years. Ambitious students can earn up to 15 extra credits per year through Summer Programs, Academic Excellence courses, and more. Acceleration allows you to graduate early, saving on living costs and helping you start your career and earn an income more quickly.

YOUR CURRICULUM
What you’ll study in your curriculum At Hult, you’ll master the fundamentals of business through a well-rounded approach that focuses on gaining knowledge, skill, and real-world experience. You’ll learn to navigate complexity, diversity, and change, and prepare for a global career and future where a growth mindset and digital skills are vital.
Business Core Learn business essentials The Business Core helps you to build a solid foundation within each functional area of business administration. Through these courses, you will learn to see how these functional areas fit together, what their purpose is within practical business, and which ones are most suited to your interests and abilities. Your knowledge will be placed in the context of the complex global environment that businesses must operate in, with a focus on how to solve international issues and challenges. By exposing you to a wide range of topics, the Business Core curriculum will create a platform for you to decide your major and choose your elective courses. The courses range from understanding the principles of management to finance and marketing. In your final two years, you’ll complete the Business Core by taking advanced classes, which integrate recurring themes in global business.
30
Majors Choose a specialization Your major is a level of concentrated study within a specific business area. Hult offers five majors: Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and Finance. By the end of your second year, or once you’ve achieved 60 credits, you can choose your major. This choice largely dictates your course options during your final years of study, and often aligns closely with your career aspirations. Electives Explore and discover Along with your major, you will also take elective courses. Typically, these will be related to your area of specialization, but you may also choose to further your knowledge in other areas of business or take additional General Education courses. How you fill your elective courses is entirely up to you. If you choose to earn a Graduate Diploma in addition to your Bachelor degree, the electives you choose will relate more closely to Computer Science or Design.
General Education Gain a broad foundation of knowledge and skills Hult aims to develop future leaders that are equipped to deal with a rapidly changing business landscape. From your first year at Hult, these courses will help you to develop a broad interdisciplinary foundation, understand the importance of cross-cultural skills, and develop adaptive thinking. In-class practice will develop your confidence as you learn to persuade, present, and make complex decisions, leaving you with a powerful, job-ready set of skills by graduation. As you progress through the curriculum, you will acquire knowledge and experience across a range of disciplines, from arts and humanities to science and technology. You’ll understand trends and technologies for today, and be challenged to think about them for the future. Nano Courses in Disruptive Technologies, which are refreshed every year with changing trends, are designed to help you think about the possibilities of the future. Examples of Nano Courses include Robotics, Digital Medicine, 3D Printing, and Blockchain.
Dr. Nina van Gessel, Associate Dean of the London campus, shares a joke with students.
Experiential Learning Practice your skills
Capstone Integrate your knowledge
At Hult you’ll not only learn, but also learn how to do. During your studies you’ll go from classroom knowledge to seeing for yourself how things actually fare in the real world. It’s a distinctive approach that brings together a range of elements so that when you do something, you truly understand it.
In your final year, you’ll complete a Capstone project. This culmination of your studies will be highly relevant to your interests and your major, and will be conducted with the guidance of a faculty advisor. You can complete your Capstone in one of four ways: by taking part in the Hult Business Challenge or the Hult Founder’s Lab, writing a thesis, or undertaking a Capstone Internship.
But experiential learning is about more than hands-on practice—it’s also about reflection so that you can contextualize your new understanding within the global business landscape. The goal of this interactive process is to help you become a professional who will easily adapt to the challenges of the business world, and be inspired to think differently about the opportunities of the future. Core Challenges Increase your mastery Each year you’ll participate in a competitive project, called a Core Challenge, where you’ll practice your skills in a hands-on project. You’ll work on a real challenge or business problem, and your team will develop and pitch a tangible solution to that problem. You’ll work with a faculty mentor throughout the process, with regular checkpoints to ensure your team is on track.
Internships Get into the real world Internships are a vital component of practical learning, and you’ll be expected to complete at least one internship while you’re a student at Hult. Internship readiness workshops and one-to-one advising sessions are available to help you prepare for working independently within a business. While some students source their own internships, others will benefit from Hult’s internship placement efforts.
Advanced Diplomas & Degrees Diversify your capabilities In addition to your Bachelor of Business Administration degree, you’ll also have the option to earn a specialized Graduate Diploma or Master degree within an in-demand field of study. Advanced diplomas and degrees offer opportunities for deeper exploration and creativity, helping you develop the advanced expertise necessary to achieve your unique ambitions. Many of the courses needed for an advanced diploma or degree can be taken while you’re studying for your Bachelor degree, meaning you’ll earn your advanced degree in a shortened timeframe. It’s a competitive edge that will help further position you for long-term career success.

FACULTY
Inspiring faculty More than just professors, our practitioner faculty are supportive mentors with whom you’ll form friendships that will last well past graduation. Known as much for their academic credentials as for their experience as executives, consultants, and entrepreneurs, these standard-bearers of our distinctly different approach to education will define your experience.
Professor Cari E. Guittard is known for her engaging, no-nonsense lectures. She currently teaches advanced seminars on gender intelligence, corporate diplomacy, and strategic influence. Why do you teach at Hult? I love the entrepreneurial spirit here on campus. It empowers my students to take what they’ve learned in class and immediately act on it. It’s such an inspiring environment to be in. How does your experience impact your classroom? During my career I have taken on a range of roles, from within the FBI to the White House, but my core skills and knowledge that I bring to the classroom are concentrated in strategic influence, tri-sector engagement, and tackling emerging risks. What are the benefits of studying your subjects? My aim and passion is to bring the real world into the classroom. Regardless of your major, everyone needs to understand how to work effectively across genders, sectors, and cultures. My career has taken me to teams and projects in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America—so believe me, knowing corporate diplomacy is important.
“My teaching style is impassioned, unorthodox, and above all, practical! I love to keep things topical—we could be talking about anything from politics to social business.” Cari E. Guittard American Professor of Women’s Leadership, Corporate Diplomacy, and International Negotiations Awarded the 2013 Women’s Leadership Hall of Heroes Award from MBA Women International Corporate Diplomacy author for the Huffington Post 40
How would you describe your teaching style? When I teach, I like to focus on the individual. I help a student not just build intellectual capital but also social and psychological capital that will last a lifetime. How would you describe Hult students? Bold, curious, and engaged global citizens, impassioned to change the world. I can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve. What is one piece of advice you’d give to the next generation of business leaders? Find something you are passionate about, and then pursue it fearlessly. Ultimately, work is the mortgage you take out on your life, so make it count.

He transformed the niche stores into a global brand: The North Face. Hap now teaches Entrepreneurship and Global Product Development at Hult. Why go from boardrooms to classrooms? “To come up with a course that is topical— that’s what maximizes the education of young people,” he says.
Dr. Georgio Georgiades Cypriot Global Discipline Lead for Management London campus Dr. Georgio Georgiades specializes in change management and Human Resources, drawing on his professional background in his teaching. Don Uy-Barreta Filipino/American Global Discipline Lead for Economics San Francisco Professor of the Year, Hult Awards 2015 to 2017
So why was Georgio drawn to Hult? “The teacher–student relationship at Hult is so unique. When I was at university, I never knew my Dean, and I never felt very comfortable going and having a conversation with my professors. Here, we have a community and students feel comfortable to come and speak to us and to ask us questions. I love that we can be open and honest with our students, and likewise so can they. This builds trust, which is essential in the classroom.”
Don Uy-Barreta knows a thing or two about economics. He worked in financial services for 12 years and helped manage nearly $4.5 USD billion in municipal bonds. In 2009, he left investment management to invest in something different: students. He now has a fulltime career teaching economics because, as he says, “Education yields the highest return.” HULT.EDU/APPLY

Student career paths
Your journey and your destination are as unique as you are. Success is something that only you can measure for yourself, but what all Hult students have in common is self-motivation, a growth mindset, and the belief that nothing is impossible. Take a look at what a few of our students ended up doing.
The Corporate Executive “I finished my undergraduate degree in three years and secured a job in the London Audit group of BDO. When I first arrived at Hult, I told the Career Development team that I wanted to find an internship. So they helped me to develop my CV, organize my cover letter, and analyze my options. At the beginning of my second year, I started to apply for graduate schemes. I worked constantly with my Career Advisor. We’d meet regularly to discuss my advantages and opportunities. He taught me my informational interviewing skills and advised me on how I could build my network and on what jobs I should apply for. We explored lots of options, including roles in the Middle East. I worked really hard on preparing for interviews and tailoring my CV and cover letter for different roles. The team also helped me with mock interviews and gave me feedback on my performance.

The Entrepreneur “My company, TEC Avenue, is developing the (currently) first completely wireless charger that will allow people to charge their phones without any sockets. We are currently selling the product throughout Europe. It was tough looking for investment. We were still students and trying to balance studying, so we had to work that much harder to get noticed. Our initial investment actually came about by chance—I met him in a restaurant, he loved the idea and invested two weeks later! London is a great startup city and is one of the hottest and strongest places in Europe to launch a tech company. Studying in London has helped connect me with the right people and Hult has provided me with many unique opportunities.
