The Olympic dream continues with our appointment as the Official Partner for Language Training Services for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. This is the sixth partnership between EF and the Olympics – after Seoul, Beijing, Sochi, Rio and PyeongChang – and reflects EF’s dedication to improving language proficiency around the globe. As well as our Olympic-themed classroom learning materials, and the implementation of our innovative Olympic Games Curriculum across the nation, digital education tools will be made available to the general public. 8 The EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) is the world’s largest ranking of countries by English skills. Now in its eighth edition, the EF EPI collates data from the millions of people who take the EF SET to produce a unique comparison on English proficiency around the world.
In addition to the EF EPI, we’ve also developed a customized report detailing the language acquisition of secondary and tertiary students. Known as the EF English Proficiency Index for Schools (EF EPI-s), the data collected helps EF conduct groundbreaking research into improving language learning in classrooms around the world.

As well as inviting an EF Teacher on the Road to your school, you can also arrange for members of EF's staff to hold talks at your school detailing the academic pathways available to students who are interested in further developing their language skills. CertTESOL Course
As well as teaching languages to students, EF also trains educators in the latest teaching methodologies. Our Teacher Training Course uses a range of processes to track your success, ensuring you gain the most from your course.
The CertTESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course equips beginner teachers with the basic skills needed to teach English as a foreign language. In order to enrol, the minimum level of English required is C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. No teaching experience is required.
Classroom observation You'll observe experienced native teachers working with mixed-nationality classes. Peer teaching You’ll prepare and present two lessons to fellow course participants, with subsequent feedback. Individual assessment You’ll also receive individual feedback from EF teachers to help with your progress. Certified success Graduates receive an EF Teacher Training Certificate, which recognizes theoretical and practical skills acquired. An accredited curriculum EF has been accredited by Trinity College to provide the official certificate CertTESOL in our Cambridge campus. The curriculum, ran by qualified instructors, combines theory with hands-on practical experience in the form of teaching practice and classroom observations. As an EF Interview Leader, you’ll need to ask questions, collect applications and test students’ language skills. In this important and central role, you’ll determine whether a student would have a rewarding experience abroad and make sure they’re fully prepared.
