Hoewel Malaga een populaire bestemming voor zonliefhebbers is, heeft ze altijd haar dorpse charme weten te behouden en is het nog steeds een vriendelijke woonomgeving voor studenten. PLAYA TAMARINDO EF Centro Internacional de Idiomas. Dankzij haar tropische klimaat en overvloed aan zon draait het leven in Playa Tamarindo om haar witte stranden, nationale parken en adembenemende bergen. Beklim een vulkaan, bekijk reuzenschildpadden of leer surfen. ‘s Avonds is het nachtleven van Tamarindo net zo wild als de golven, met strandfeesten en hippe discotheken. How To Enroll Students may enroll by phone, online, by mail or at an EF office or with an EF representative by completing the Enrollment Form. A non-refundable Enrollment Fee of USD250 and a Cancellation Protection Fee of USD100 are due upon enrollment. Bookings made within 30 days of the start date may require an additional non-refundable courier fee. Parents and guardians of students under the age of 18 are required to sign a Medical Release Waiver. Students will receive a booking confirmation and initial invoice for a deposit of 20% of the total fees upon enrollment. A final invoice is due at least 60 days prior to your program start date. The Program Fee must be paid to your local EF Office or EF representative. For late payments, EF reserves the right to charge a late payment fee. Students may choose to be beneficiaries under this group policy. If the student does not wish to be covered by this insurance coverage, they will need to provide EF with a copy in English of the alternative insurance policy they have taken out individually. The fee to be covered is USD1020 for a 9 month program; USD760 for a 6 month program; and USD1330 for an 11 month program. Students enrolling at EF Sydney or EF Brisbane are required by the Australian government to insure themselves medically with an Australian company. Cancellation Protection EF Cancellation Protection is charged at a one-time fee of USD100 at the time of booking and is non-refundable. This covers cancellations before departure due to illness, or illness in your immediate family. A doctor’s documentation is needed within 10 days of the claim. Rebooking Any change of destination, course type, start date, or type of accommodation after initial enrollment will result in a rebooking fee of USD75, which is payable immediately.

Class Schedules Classes are offered at all EF centers worldwide in a block schedule format on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00. In some centers, classes may take place on the weekends. EF language lessons have a duration of at least 40 minutes. If a student fails to maintain an 80% attendance record, the EF International Language Center will not be able to issue any program certificate or diploma. Program Dates Please see pages 32-88 for start dates available in individual centers. EF Accommodation is available from the Sunday prior to your start date until the Saturday after your course ends. Please arrange your travel to arrive/depart on these days, as arriving earlier or later to accommodation may require additional fees. Program Fee The Program Fee shown with each EF International Language Center comprises two elements: the Tuition Fee (40%) for tuition and the Student Services Fee (60%), which includes accommodation. The Tuition Fee is based on a minimum course length of 20 weeks. In case of shortened courses due to withdrawals, short course Tuition Fee will be calculated at a 20% premium. Cancellations before program start All cancellations must be made in writing to your nearest EF office, local EF representative or EF School Director. In all cases, the Enrollment Fee, Cancellation Protection fee and courier fee are non-refundable. Students who do not show up for the program will be charged the same fees as late cancellations. – If you cancel 60 days or more before the start of the program, EF will retain the initial deposit, except in cases where visa applications have been denied. – If you cancel less than 60 days prior to departure EF will retain a maximum of USD 2500 for programs outside the USA and a maximum of USD 500 for programs in the USA) to cover the cost of prepaid accommodation and services.

For all programs in the USA: If you are accepted by EF and enter the USA on an student Visa obtained through EF and subsequently cancel prior to the start of scheduled classes, or never attends classes, EF may retain: All the tuition fees for up to six weeks, any actual housing costs incurred by EF and a maximum total of $500 for non-refundable charges, including housing administration fees. Withdrawals after program start All withdrawals need to be made in writing to EF. If you wish to withdraw from your program after arrival at the EF International Language Center, you must inform the EF School Director and sign a copy of the program change notification form. Refunds can only be made by the EF office or representative where the program fees were paid, and EF will process all refunds within 45 days of receipt of written notification. For all programs in the USA: If you wish to withdraw from your program after arrival at the EF International Language Center and before the mid-point (withdrawal date) of your program, EF will keep a prorated amount of the Student Services Fee (minimum 4 weeks) a prorated amount of tuition fee. Any correspondence, photos and other media used on My EF™ will be considered private and EF will not accept any responsibility for such correspondence or media. Parent/s or legal guardian-/s of students under the age of majority traveling with EF give their consent for the student to use the My EF™ web service. iLab lessons are currently available at all EF International Language Centers of English. All students enrolled in an AY General program will have access to online iLab lessons upon enrollment, throughout the course and for 3 months after their course ends. All students enrolled in an AY Intensive program will have access to online iLab lessons upon enrollment, throughout the course and for 6 months after their course ends. Course Levels Prior to departure, students must take a level placement test online in EF’s MyEF iLab to assess their language proficiency. The results will be used to place them in the correct course level at their EF center. When an EF International Language Center has a General language lesson of five students or fewer, EF reserves the right to reduce the number of lessons per week. SPIN Classes (special interest classes) Examples of SPIN classes vary from one EF Center to another and are subject to change due to availability. Destination-specific policies For students studying in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, additional local policies will be provided when you enquire about your trip. Students under the age of 18 may be required to pay a guardian fee for certain destinations in Australia and New Zealand. Internship or Volunteer Experience Program The EF Internship or Volunteer Experience Program is available in all locations except Beijing, for a fee of USD475. Included in this fee is an internship preparation program and up to 100 hours of part-time unpaid work or volunteer experience. Internship and volunteer experience availability varies according to visa regulations and are therefore not guaranteed to all students. Please contact us for more information. Photography and film material By accepting EF’s terms and conditions, the participant accepts that EF can freely use all photography, film and sound material that have been created by EF and or by EF’s staff during the program, without asking further approval from the participant. Liability and force majeure EF will not be liable in cases where EF is unable to fulfill any services to which they are contractually bound because of fire, natural disaster, act of government, failure of suppliers or subcontractors, labor disputes or other reasons that are beyond EF’s control. Student Code of Conduct Students agree to abide by student conduct rules and other policies while enrolled in EF programs. Inappropriate conduct includes illegal activity or behavior that deliberately disrupts the learning environment or damages EF property or the property of fellow classmates. Students in breach of this code of conduct will be expelled or suspended from the program and no refund will be issued. Under the Commonwealth laws of Australia, sections 27 and 29 of the ESOS Act will be invoked for students who have paid in full if EF is unable to provide services in Australia. In New Zealand, under Section 253(1) of the Education Act all students’ fees are protected in the event that the school ceases to offer a course in which the student is enrolled.
