n today’s scenario where India stands on the verge of being a super power; a potential nation with immense manpower and enormous thrust to steer the world as a power house, it is necessary that we clearly demarcate the challenges that we are facing in the boundless growth of the nation as a whole .There are serious challenges to the economic sustenance and economic viability of the country. The biggest challenge we face today is the hindrance in the path of free and equal education to all; a problem that has been deeply threaded inside the social fabric of the country. We have been ruled for years by different rulers and kingdoms, each having their own ethnicity and their own system of education, thus making present day India a vibgyor of various pattern of education. The biggest flaw in the education system is the system itself which is maimed by the various dependencies on innumerable factors like the government infrastructure, quality of education, medium of education, last mile connectivity of schools and colleges; especially in the rural and remote areas where it is still a hard bread to earn and lastly the mis-management on part of the government authorities to ensure quality and benign system of education today in the country. There needs to be a proper coordination between the government authorities, (those who decide the framework, affiliations , accreditations and other recognitions for securing the ability to provide educational degrees and diplomas.) universities and colleges running throughout the country , media ;which is responsible for bringing out the wrong and lacunas in the education sector , and ultimately the families throughout the country who want to ensure that their child gets the best of education. These are the four significant pillars on which the whole education system or the future of India is dependent on. We cannot have a properly running education system unless and until all these four pillars strive in with sheer determination and out of the box approach to bring out the best they can do in the limited available resources for the improvement and optimization of the education prototype of India. “Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. So the aim is to have a collective responsibility of the government, universities, families and media in order to ensure that the illiterate gets the education in it full form and with the best tools and facilities that can be provided. Government has to ensure that they provide latest equipment’s and audio-visual aids that are available and can be utilized to maximum capabilities in the schools and colleges at large. Also it is a herculean responsibility on the part of government to ensure that all the universities and colleges which are recognized by it, are working according to the guidelines laid by the university and are strictly complying to the framework and fidelity vested upon them to provide degrees and various formats of education throughout the country. Unfortunately, it is not the case and the universities can be seen violating these norms laid by the government authorities namely, UGC and AICTE and IGNOU, for distance education. Thus the ultimate fruit of education lies in the future of an educated country. Developed nations like the European nations and the Americas have attained about 100 % literacy and are utmost reluctant to allow any margin of error in their education system and still keep an hard eye to the latest developments and researches in the field of education. After all, learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.

DEC: A Sudden Wrap UP by HRD!! T

he Distance Education Council (DEC) of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is now a thing of the past. The Human Resource Development Ministry in an unusually rapid decision, bestowed upon UGC all responsibilities of the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) education. No rhyme or reason can justify this sudden revolutionary change that will directly affect those who were pursuing, or were planning to pursue any course in distant learning mode. “The manner in which the laws framed by the Parliament have been substituted by a bureaucratic process, to evade and avoid meaning discussions, calls for a debate on the procedure followed by the government to undo the laws,’’ M.M. Ansari, member of the UGC and a former Director of DEC-IGNOU, has said. The HRD Ministry dissolved the DEC on the recommendations of the Madhav Menon Committee to “Suggest Measures to Regulate the Standards of Education Being Imparted through Distance Mode.” UGC has been 04

declared as the whole soul responsible authority for undertaking the proceedings of all the presently running distance learning courses until a separate body with the adequate framework and the strictly maneuvered guidelines is formed which will undertake and replace DEC. No new center shall be opened with immediate effect, a decision which is considered by critics as utterly irresponsible and immature on the part of MHRD.In a notification issued by the UGC, All universities have been asked to ensure that no further affiliations or approvals are granted to any new center for ODL programs/courses until such regulations are resumed or a single point of contact is resurrected. A point worth noticing here is that the power to regulate ODL system had been entrusted to the IGNOU by Parliament, and that, MHRD was advised that the proper functioning of the colleges that were operating under the aegis of ODL were ill-managed and proper guidelines were not followed on the grass root level.

Future of DEC Approved Institutes : Biggest Orphanage of Education MHRD stated that this was a step ought to be taken , but what about the future of those students that were under the care and guidance of such courses , there may be some colleges which were selling degrees , which were contaminating the formats and guidelines set up by IGNOU, but does that mean to eradicate the whole system. When some leaves of tree decay, a particular branch is cut to save the others from decaying, but it will be a blunder if the whole tree is uprooted as such to prevent the oblivion. Where will they go who, who will consider their degrees as valid before offering them employment. They are now like orphan child who lost his parents suddenly, with no one to care and look after and to show the correct path to lead. Students do not have any single point of contact or any

organization as such whom they can contact and complaint; they will not be even intimated about further details and proceedings in this matter because all the study centers that were set up by universities locally and in remote areas are ordered to be withdrawn immediately .This is more serious than it appears. iConnect advice students not to panic, and wait for the decisions about to surface out regarding this, Probably a new transformed body with a tighter grip may be set up to have a tight hold on all ODL mode institutes , even at the university level .Also , as far as possible discourage all rumors and not to spread and raw-ear news pricked from loose talks on this , we at iConnect are closely following up with MHRD and are in sync with the up close and with tandem with IGNOU and UGC personnel for committee dates and dealings.

Pallam Raju Resigned from Ministry NEW DELHI: Brushing aside the Prime Minister's advice, HRD Minister Pallam Raju on Friday decided to resign from the Cabinet opposing the decision to split Andhra Pradesh. "Yesterday, I met the Prime Minister and offered to resign. He told me not to take a hasty decision. I have thought over it last night. I have decided that I should resign from the Union Council of Ministers," he told reporters. He said he has sought an appointment with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Raju, who hails from Seemandhra region, has been strongly opposed to the division of Andhra Pradesh and has been critical of the way the government was going about on the issue. Meanwhile, there were reports that two ministers of state, D Purandeshwari and Killi Kriparani, have also offered to resign but there was no confirmation. On Thursday night, tourism minister Chiranjeevi and textiles minister KS Rao had also offered their resignation.

Narendra Damodardas Modi, popularly known as Narendra Modi or NaMo amongst his supporters is present day Chief minister of Gujarat and the official prime minister candidate for BJP in 2014 elections. He is nowadays the most heard of, and the most talked about politician. So what are the reasons that made him rise high exponentially, what was his X-factor, the charisma that made him

PERSONALITY CONNECT achieve boundless popularity and country wise support? The reasons are varied and the conditions are favorable for him, so let’s discuss about the oxygen that allowed Modi to breathe in and sustain the desire for the premier position of the country. MODI A TRuE MARksMAN The biggest plus point which Modi has is Modi himself, the image he carry , and his affiliations which make him a HINDU nationalist , backed up and highly supported by RSS whom Modi has served religiously for last 25 years . VHP the extremist Hindu wing supports Modi whole heartedly. “Modi is a vegetarian. He is known for leading a frugal lifestyle and has a personal staff of three. He is known to be a workaholic and an introvert. He also writes poems in Gujarati.[140] He is a crowd-puller as a speaker. He wears "business suits to business meetings, instead of homespun tunics. He still lampoons the urban, English-speaking elite, but he is also honing his English skills." Modi has been labeled by the media and some articles in peer reviewed journals as a controversial, polarizing, and divisive figure. In September 2013, Nielsen and The Economic Times published results of a poll of 100 Indian corporate leaders - 74 of them wanted Modi to be the next prime-minister; compared to 7 whose preference was Rahul Gandhi. British economist Jim O'Neill, author of the BRIC report, wrote on his blog that Modi is "good on economics", one of the things that "India desperately needs in a leader”. In August 2013, financial analyst Chris Wood, chief strategist of CLSA, wrote in his weekly Greed & Fear that "the Indian stock market's greatest hope is the emergence of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate" .. Actions and decisions that Modi took in 2002 Ghodhra riots are still the biggest controversy and negative for Modi, a stain which has held him for so many years and also discouraged globally. But a big sigh of relief came when the bench of SIT, maneuvered by the honorable Supreme Court of India, cleared him of all the allegations and found his action to be satisfactory and required. “People have a right to be critical. We are a democratic country. Everyone has their own view. I would feel guilty if I did something wrong. Frustration comes when you think “I got caught. I was stealing and I got caught. That’s not my case” Answered the man, who was asked the same question more than a thousand times by all the lobbyists and media personnel for his disputed actions as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2002.” A BusINEss TYCOON When Mamta Banerjee denied the TATAS to have a Nano plant in Singur District, West Bengal, Modi‘s government immediately opened their doors for setting up an industrial unit and assembly line for Nano in Gujarat . y 2022, over 700 million Indians of working age will be seeking to earn a livelihood. Of these, only 200 million would be graduates. The rest will be left with a question mark over their education qualifications and skills. The Advantage for India is that as compared to western economies where there is a burden of an ageing population, India has a unique 20–25 years window of opportunity called the “demographic dividend.” This “demographic dividend” means that as compared to other large developing and developed countries, India has a higher proportion of working age population vis-à-vis its entire population.” The result is low dependency ratio, which can provide a comparative cost advantage and competitiveness to the economy India has the world’s youngest work force with a median age way below that of China and OECD countries. Half the population of India was younger than 25 in 2010. It will change to half the population being under 28 in 2030, making India a very young country for the next 20 years “The rapid growth of the Indian economy since 2004 has clearly brought out the shortcomings of our skills development processes,” Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told a labour conference in February 2012. “Today, availability of skills is possibly the single most important constraint to rapid industrial growth,” he had said. And, in any case, skills are a necessary condition for improving incomes and being fit for a job. They don’t create jobs by themselves. Skills is the ability that one possesses, it is the learned ability to carry out pre-determined results often with the minimum outlay of time, energy, or both. Skill building can be viewed as an instrument to improve the effectiveness and contribution of labor to the overall production. It is an important ingredient to push the production possibility frontier outward and to take growth rate of the economy to a higher trajectory. Skill building

could also be seen as an instrument to empower the individual and improve his/her social acceptance or value. While India has large young population, only 5% of the Indian labour force in the age group of 20-24 years has obtained vocational skills through formal means whereas the percentage in industrialized countries varies between 60% and 96%. About 63% of the school students drop out at different stages before reaching Class-X. Only about 2.5 million vocational training seats are available in the country whereas about 12.8 million persons enter the labour market every year. Accordingly, Ministry of Labour & Employment has undertaken development of a new strategic framework for skill development for early school leavers and existing workers, especially in the unorganised sector in close consultation with industry, micro enterprises in the unorganised sector, State Governments, experts and academia which is essential considering their educational, social and economic background. The major objective of the scheme is to provide vocational training to school leavers, existing workers, ITI graduates, etc. to improve their employability by optimally utilizing the infrastructure available in Govt., private institutions and the Industry. State Governor Follow Supreme Court Order

T

here have been several high profile cases earlier, but none of them like the much-hyped affair of Meghalaya-based CMJ University, which was exposed by RS Mooshahary, the governor of state, with many anomalies and inconsistencies in its operations and mal-administration in award of degrees. After the state high court had orderedthe state government to dissolve the university, a fresh petition was filed in Supreme Court by Chandra Mohan Jha, the self-appointed chancellor of the university, challenging the high court decision. The decision, however, was upheld by the Supreme Court directing the government to follow orders of the state governor to dissolve CMJ University within 3 months’ time. The direction of governor, issued on June 12, regarding the dissolution of the university as per section 48 of the CMJ University Act, 2009 had been referred by the apex court. Section 48 of the CMJ University Act says if any kind of mismanagement & mal-administration is identified in operations, then state government would issue directions for rectification to the university. If the directions are not followed, the state government can take steps to wind up the university. Mooshahary had stated that from the established facts, it is proven that there are inconsistencies, mismanagement, maladministration, indiscipline and failure in the accomplishment of the norms of the university and objectives of it, apart from the criminal liability. Mooshahary, had also been the visitor of CMJ 10

University. Dissolution of CMJ University had been sought by the governor in the interest of maintaining proper standards of higher education in Meghalaya state. In the face of this Supreme Court decision, the top regulatory authority UGC has constituted a 9 member committee to inspect the CMJ University. Meanwhile, the recommendation made by the state governor for the closure of the university, has been accepted by the State Board for Higher Education. About the future of students and validity of degrees awarded by Chandra Mohan Jha University, it seems as if the government is keeping a blind eye. Students, who have invested years of time and have suffered all the tensions and pressures of exams, are hoping for things to turn their way, as it will help them shape their future. There is no fault on the part of those students, who took an admission into the courses of a university which was valid once, according to the standards and norms of University Grant Commission (UGC). The authenticity of certificate, degrees or papers must be checked, and after verification they must stand valid. The state government must understand that invalidation of degrees will have an impact on many thousand students. According to our sources, the UGC committee will be meeting shortly to decide on the future of students, validity of degrees and about the standards to be followed. Students are too worried about the future course of action, while there is no clarification yet.

Periyar university Dispatches Degrees A

s an immediate stimulus to the news that appeared in the august issue of iConnect, Periyar University, agreed to dispatch the awaited degrees of students in its various courses in arts, science and commerce. The decision came when iConnect surfaced the matter and followed it with various different higher officials and dignitaries of the university, and when the news was published in the magazine. The situation was even worse for last two years as the students were facing serious problems with the enormous delay in declaration of result for its various programs, directly affecting the careers and further studies of the students. iConnect followed the university, and also brought about he views and problems of the students to the limelight , making university bound to take a decision based on available facts , and take some stringent actions against those who were responsible for the delay in results and degrees and ensure that the situation is normalized at the earliest. University has committed to look out for the cause and culprit identification in this case and will also determine steps to avoid any such situation in future. There has been innumerable no. of cases in which the people from different parts of the country have reported various problems related to the mark sheet that were blocked by the university and the students have faced real problems in obtaining the same. Some of the cases are collected from various forums and quoted below: 1. “I am working in Chennai, I requested for duplicate mark lists because unfortunately 4 of my mark sheets were little bit burned on a gas leakage, I shown the mark lists with small damages but they doesn't give me back the mark lists instead of that they are demanding 1000 rupees DD for each mark sheet, I asked why 1000 rupees each when I am having all the mark lists with small damage? the lady staff said they will process my request after receipt of money only, and they never give back my mark lists, it’s like a little bit gambling...”…. BY MR. BALAsANTHAM. 2. “Not Receiving Provisional & Convocation

Dear sir/Mam I have passed my MBA-HRM in Periyar University in the year 2011 (Through Genious Educational Trust, Trichy). I have received my marks sheet but still didn't receive my provisional & Convocation certificate still. Many times I have approached through the study centre and on phone but didn't receive any proper answer. Last month I have gone to study centre but even for that I didn’t get any positive answer. My enrolment number is 7PBA1203002. Without provisional certificate couldn't enter

my employment office .I have got lot of mental stress due to this problem. Please take immediate action to provide me Provisional certificate immediately without any further delay. On 10.04.2013 I have sent one letter to The Controller of examination.” BY MR. GNANAM.C These were some serious questions that were allegedly put up on Periyar University and its administration; it seems as if there is a “layer” between the upper administration and some people who have started this as a business of earning money. These are some of the examples in which the students have faced problems and there was no concomitant from the Periyar University at all. It has also been observed by our correspondents that even the lower subordinates and the housekeeping staff their have become bookers and they act like if they have the right to do anything in the university given that you provide them handsome amount of money and aids. So finally students can feel a sigh of relief as they have started receiving the degrees after the news was highlighted to the concerned and wider audience by iConnect. But in case there are still some students who are facing difficulties in getting their mark sheets or they have been a victim of any kind of misconduct or corruption in any form in Periyar university to say any university in india can directly contact us and let us know what the problems they have faced , we ensure you we will look into the matter immediately and will try to find out the solution to the problem and will even take it to the most superior bodies in case he issue is not properly heard or it really affects someone’s career etc. Eventually it is the student who will suffer; based on the source information of IConnect thousands of students, who were a part of this ostentatious or rather confusing program, now find themselves in a state of dilemma, all the study centers are ought to be closed by the university, but who thinks about the future. University, and a reputed one, may end up with a ruined future of many students if this program is proven orphan, with no government body to take hold of it. Government is needed to examine these matters and should coordinate with media campaigns like ours to have a hand in hand situation for cleansing these universities and other institutes running throughout the country and running this business of education without considering the enormous loss , an irreversible loss of time , money and so many critical years they are creating . A loss for which these students will never be able to explain reasons to their employers, their fate is in the hands of these players who try to run their business from the shops which were supposedly “temple of education”.

n a country like ours where fire casualties’occurrence is quite frequent, every now and then we get news of certain fires, cylinder bursts and building fires etc.; and mostly the reason is more or less due to some human blunders and inappropriate security measures, inadequate conditions and ignorance of people on how to rest in such a situation. In Delhi alone the deaths count due to fire cases is in thousands of number. There is a dire need of proper training and knowledge of fire suppression techniques , each and every one should be aware and well versed in what to do at the eleventh hour and be safe and sound in case of a calamity. “DIFE is the only institute in North India which imparts organized Fire & Industrial Safety Training and is affiliated with the Board of Technical Education, Government of NCT, Delhi. DIFE is being run by the NGO “Defence Officers' Society for Fire Prevention and Disaster Management” duly registered with Registrar of Co-operative Societies under Societies Registration Act XXI Of 1986.” as quoted from their official website. 14

Avviare Education Hub

The Implementation of Real “Right to Education”… “Instruction ends in the school-room, but education ends only with life.”

T

he best gift you can bestow upon an individual is to impart him with best education, enable him to think, write, speak and more over express his views and thoughts. And such an initiative has been very well implemented by the avviare education hub, an institute with a vision, vision of taking responsibility, responsibility of selflessly providing the education with the clear motive of establishing a youth foundation, rather than a business firm of producing pseudo degree holders. When iConnect correspondents enquired, they found this educational diaspora as an innovative and a noble effort towards 16

the promotion and in real meaning implementation of right to education. Avviare education hub, though in its initial phase, started in MAY 2013, is really an astounding effort to boost up the education sector and to invigorate the segment of those students that are not “too bright” or need some extra support to stand up in this cut-throat competition. Now by support they mean financial, institutional, guidance, and in every manner in which a student may face a hurdle. “We believe that the greatest gift we can give to our students are ROOTS & WINGS. Roots entrenched in tradition and wings

of independence to help them to explore their self and beyond. We make all efforts to impart whole some value based quality education coupled with enough mental & physical space for real growth.” As quoted from MR. Sandeep singh, the man behind this noble effort and the workforce to revitalize the average student. The institute affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, provides various bachelors and masters courses in arts, science, IT and management and also aims to start-up other technical professional courses as the institute hold the grip further. The institute does not charge anything from the students who come and enrol with them apart from the nominal University examination fees, and provides facilities like infrastructure, regular classes, soft skills enhancement, industry oriented workshops etc. to actually bridge the gap between the education sector and the service industry. Moreover, the idea is to promulgate education, so students with extremely weak financial backgrounds, who are even unable to pay the university charges, are welcomed and encouraged to take education without paying anything and they are treated at par in the institute. The institute supports and firmly believe in the industry face up and to discover those x factors which companies actually require in an employee. Emphasis on soft skills enhancement, companies’ requirements, maturity of education and overall the “readiness” of an individual to serve in any firm is the motive and ultimate aim of Avviare. Albeit, providing resources for development is the best one can do as a proactive involvement in this society, and if you do that selflessly, without any motive of profit in it is by all powers of almighty, eternal. “Emeralds as well as glass will shine when the light is shed on them.”

ksOu: Technical Degrees via Distance? K

arnataka State Open University (KSOU) has always remained in the limelight, because some of its various study centers running programs like B.Tech and M.Tech in correspondence. It is clearly mentioned by the UGC and former DEC (Distance education Council) form which it had affiliations that no technical course can run anywhere in India under distance mode. B.Tech being a technical course is run by KSOU study centers. As per the KSOU coordinators they are doing nothing wrong by providing technical degree courses under the distance mode and that they don’t require any AICTE approval for the same. Also some coordinators had opened its so called study centers throughout the country and is conducting exams, enrolling students and collecting fees through these centers, this is a clear violation of the UGC norms of Distance education laid under the MHRD, govt. of INDIA. No technical course can run under distance mode, it is that simple as that, so what is the difference with this university, why they consider this correct, and who has allowed them to grant such invalid degrees. Well the university coordinator says they don’t require AICTE accreditation to run any course and that they are approved by DEC. Point worth noticing is that DEC as a council is dissolved. Null and void, with immediate effect by the MHRD on the recommendations of the Madhav Menon Committee to “Suggest Measures to Regulate the Standards of Education Being Imparted through Distance Mode.” UGC has been declared as the whole soul responsible authority for undertaking the proceedings of all the presently running distance learning courses until a separate body with the adequate framework and the strictly maneuvered guidelines is formed which will undertake and replace DEC. Now, KSOU is left with only UGC grant as a university. DEC when it was a functional unit had also detected this flaw and illegal activities conducted by KSOU and had issued a “Show cause” notice to university for the same. But DEC also had some functional flaws in its working as in they never chased the university for the clarification of the same. sTuDENTs THE REAL VICTIM Candidates determined to pursue professional and technical courses find the lucrative offers and the tailor made courses of these universities as apt and very easy to pursue, so they enroll in these courses without prior investigation or reading the reviews, opinions and conversations available on internet about the same. We recommend students not to fall prey to such those universities and their totally invalid courses; one should always consult with the best available education counselors or should 18

revolutionize the way...

read the review about any university or college before taking admission in it. If it was possible to obtain a B.Tech degree by just merely filling up some forms and appearing for the exams online or even from center, then every university would have started this program, why only one. The reason is clear and the motives are dicey, this is a scam run by the university study centers just to increase the strength and earn some money by selling degrees. They try to cater the needs of the student by providing them exactly what they want. One cannot do B.Tech in Distance mode from any university whatsoever in INDIA, as clear as that. Government is needed to examine these matters and should coordinate with media campaigns like ours to have a hand in hand situation for cleansing these universities and other institutes running throughout the country education without considering the enormous loss , an irreversible loss of time , money and so many critical years they are creating . A loss for which these students will never be able to explain reasons to their employers, their fate is in the hands of these players who try to run their business from the shops which were supposedly “temple of education. People should understand this thing, we consider it as a mistake of parents, who invariably indulge their child in this type of “easy education”, why is it that the student is not able to crack the exams of engineering that are valid or why he want to pursue engineering , and in case the students is not sharp enough why take him deliberately to engineering , let him to what he is good in , it is not like that everybody can become an engineer or a doctor , why is this unnecessary burden of education is laden on the young shoulders. And once they feel that they have such lucrative courses which are offering them a B.Tech degree merely by sitting at home they always pursue such courses and are attracted by them. GOVERNMENT ACTIONs Now it’s the whole soul responsibility of the people in power to understand and maintain the discretion in distance education and regular degrees. maintaining the prestige of regular courses is also an responsibility laden on the MHRD and the education ministry and if they are not able to maintain this stature then a strict action should be taken by the government on such institutes and universities that are destroying with the future of lakhs of students by merely playing with words and allowing students to take on tailor made course, their motive is earning money and not at all providing quality education ,and it’s a work of the government to identify and mark such institutes and cancel their affiliations and all the accreditations that have been awarded to them earlier.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M). The 14 participating NLUs in the order of their establishment are: 1. National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) 2. National Academy of Legal Study & Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad 3. National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) 4. The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (WBNUJS) 5. National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) 6. Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU) 7. National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJA) The first CLAT Core Committee consisting of ViceChancellors of the seven participating NLUs at that time decided that the test should be conducted by rotation in the order of their establishment. Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008 by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. Subsequently, CLAT-2009, CLAT-2010, CLAT-2011 and CLAT2012 have been conducted by NALSAR-Hyderabad, NLIUBhopal, WBNJUJS-Kolkata and NLU-Jodhpur, respectively. The CLAT-2013 is being conducted by Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur. This format is very much followed for last couple of decades in the country and is also considered as the most successful judicial education system meeting standards as laid in accordance with the European and American law schools. Law is related to the constitution and the basic judicial structure of the country thus it cannot be a global course, but within the boundary of the countries a lawyer is the first person to contact for any legal queries. Govt Law College, Kerala Univ., Thiruvananthapuram 6 BIG BENEFITs OF TAkING LAW As A CAREER There are various reasons aforesaid to join law as a career but to summarize the main points lets discuss them one by one. 1. Expanded growth opportunity. There are almost immense innumerable opportunities and totally depends upon your knowledge and being a well-defined person of law. The more you gain experience of law, the more judicial you become thus gaining an exponential growth from a lawyer to a senior lawyer than a judge. 2. Monetary benefits The legal profession is one of the most lucrative industries in today’s job market and would remain for very long. Doubledigit growth in recent years has produced healthy revenues and rising salaries. Associates in the nation’s largest law firms start at thousands of rupees and partners earn average salaries in excess of many lakhs per month. After you have gained reputation as a lawyer people engage themselves in very complex and heavy money related cases only. 3. Public service At the heart of the legal professional’s role is client service. Whether you are a lawyer representing a multinational corporate client, a paralegal assisting abused women obtain restraining orders or a law clerk researching a tax issue for a new business, the fundamental purpose of the legal professional is the help others resolve their legal problems. 4. ubiquitous Profession Whatever city you are in, whatever position of judges you held you will find the local courts and legal magistrate’s hearings everywhere throughout the country. Once you have the degree you are liable to practice law and its applications anywhere in the country and handle any case you feel like you can. 5. Legal terminologies and intellectual logics Navigating an evolving legal system, advances in technology, vast bodies of case law and the demands of the legal profession creates a stimulating intellectual environment for the legal professional. Lawyers and non-lawyers alike must grapple with conceptually challenging issues, reason with logic and clarity, analyze case and statutory law, research complex legal issues and master oral and written communications. 6. Prestige& Honor In a culture that views high pay, impressive schooling and societal power as hallmarks of success, the legal profession has long been regarded as a noble and elite profession. This image is further boosted by the portrayal of legal careers in the media as exciting, glamorous, fast-paced and desired. As a result, the legal profession has held its allure and careers in the law remain is one of the most sought-after professions in today’s job market.

Politics and Leadership: Opportunity for young generation

S

ince the very inception, when this term was coined, politics; it is always considered as a negative word, a word which often mingled and misunderstood with diplomacy, playing with words, and shrewd administration. Though it’s an undeniable fact that these words are more or less related to politics but these words have really obsessed the current day terminology of politics as a whole, and has further contaminated the whole profession designed with the intentions of public service. There are immense opportunities in a country like INDIA in terms of politics; also there is a huge lack of charismatic politicians and really honest people in this field, like other countries, where the situation is not really that worse and the politicians still hold a belief in the people and they tend to be motivated towards this field. So what is there in politics that may excite you, why to join a career that has too many flaws and a really bad reputation? 24

iConnect

revolutionize the way...

Well the answer to it is our outlook, the way we perceive things and go along with them, as mentioned in the headline of this topic, there is an utmost risk, a risk to career as a whole and a risk of gaining nothing out of it. WHO SHOULD CHOOSE POLITICS There are some essential qualities which should be there in a person who is looking to take politics as a career. Politics is not meant for any one, it’s not a framework or a course following which anyone can become a politician, and it is strictly not like that. 1. A MASTER ORATOR: The person should be a fearless public speaker; this is the first and foremost quality that a person should have in order to be a successful politician. Your words, your actions and gestures should be very mature, concise and inciting. Whether you are keeping your point of view or your party’s agenda you should be able to clearly make a mark in the heart of your target audience. Present day politicians like

www.educationiconnect.com I October 2013

CAREER CONNECT Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Sharad Pawar, and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal etc. they all have a charisma in what they speak , they carry a mentality , a point and they are expert in carrying their ideology to be very well understood by the common public at large 2. GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS:You should have good linksamongst the people of different trades. The one with maximum links and relations will eventually have the most varied voter bank behind him. He should be a man of hearts, one who could win public and take them in confidence. Public relations are very important thing that one should have in order to utilize the influence, in order to gain support from the masses when undergoing any rally, walks, and elections and under bad conditions of protest. Usually in a country like ours people are motivated by religion, profession, associations or by simply their languages. So a shrewd politician should understand the very social fabric of the people and then implement his ideology, because in a vast country like ours there are various groups and thousands of languages, people are divided like flora and fauna, and usually ones gain is other’s loss and vice-versa. So one should be a good judge of his target audience. 3. MAN WITH A VISION: You should work on avision, a vision how to proceed yourself and your association in future and how to carry on that viewpoint in the ultimate service of the society. in today’ practical scenario , people especially politicians with a narrow mentality try to gain as much as they can while in power , because they are almost sure that they cannot sustain their position , the next time they will stand in the elections , and in this blind race for gaining personal benefits , they forget about the ones who choose them , they forgot that they have been designated with a very responsible position to develop and enhance the society and not to fill in their own bank

accounts and contaminate the political scenarios. The biggest example of man with a vision was Mr. Rajeev Gandhi , the former prime minister of india , who is responsible for this IT revolution in the country , it was his vision and a clear future oriented outlook because of which india today is an IT hub , and supports about 80% of IT and ITes firms in the world. This is because a man thought of it in a very early stage and had put in real strong efforts for fulfilling it. 4. INTELLECTUAL AND LAW ABIDING: A politician should be quite intellectually sound and a player of words, which can abide him from the hounding media and critics especially opposition parties, who always keep prying eyes to the words and statements given by you or your party. He should be mature enough in using the words so that he can very well convey his motive to the most illiterate person and that person really understand straightaway what his viewpoint is, and simultaneously your words should not be offending, abusing or in any manner directly hurting the personal sentiments of any community, person or group of people as a whole. Every statement you give and every person you support should be chosen wisely and with utmost discretion, so that when you have to face the consequences or the blame of anything that had gone the other way as you had expected it to be. The basic logic is that your words should be irreversible, or having meaning that can be molded in a different way. These are some of the basic guru mantras of politics, however there are varied reasons and sympathies that make good politicians and man they can entrust the supreme power of being their leader. Thus it is a career that is meant for a special few, who really want to dedicate their life in the service of the nation, ideally.

Communication: An ultimate Tool to success F

irst impression is the last impression and that impression should reallyhave a lasting experience. Companies nowadays seek people with excellent communication skills and fluent English, the ones who are capable enough to understand and mould their accent instantly and also understand different dialects and expressions of speech. Today in this world of globalization all world is a centre stage and people have to deal with business across different geographies and languages. Thus it is clear from the global scenario that communication and soft skills play a very vital role in whatever kind of job you do. A person having these skills is having an upper hand along with the required skills for the job, because these make him a complete professional. One should work on the speaking skills because these are the first thing that comes into notice and makes an everlasting effect on the observer or interviewer. By speech or speaking skills we mean a conjunction of grammar and right

Everybody can learn thousands of word; mug up their meaning and use whenever they are surfaced, but what the benefit if you can't explain someone what you want to say with the help of those word. If you know the word but cannot pronounce it properly than there is no point speaking that word. This is an essential of communication and cannot be avoided by merely mugging up words, one should also play equal importance to how they are pronounced because they are inevitably useful to the individual as if you know the correct pronunciation you can always understand very well what the other person is saying. Nobody is a born good communicator, all he speaks is what he has learned and implemented in his own tone, the one who listens more grabs more; a nice speaker has to be a very good listener as well. You can only communicate with other people if you think that you have some solid material to speak on, if you have knowledge about that particular topic, otherwise after

CAREER CONNECT speaking some words you will ran out of ideas, you will try to dig deeper into the words to actually make your speech delivered, but in case of doing so you will always lessen the impact of your thoughts and that too at the cost of a deep degradation in the quality of your thought. LIMITED usAGE OF sLANGs People usually have a habit of using slangs and short forms while communicating, which is invariably a bad practice, a habit that may lead you in cumbersome situation also. Slangs which you may use commonly or are expected to be known by all and sundry are not encouraged in professional communication, it is considered a bad to be a slang speaker, because you may know slang and feeling like having a “cool” tone but he might have not understood your slang, and could have even slipped the whole conversation due to that. I mean it’s beneficial to have a clear and well understood communication rather than merely using a couple of slangs and make your point either two meanings or literally no meaning. usAGE OF WORDs Choose your words wisely; your words should be able to communicate the exact meaning what you want to say. Keep it simple as possible, heavy words or uncommon words are good for increasing your vocab but not for communication; after all it is not a GMAT exam but a normal conversation. Use common words effectively instead of going for heavy words, your thoughts should be very well explained via your words. Sometimes effective and appropriate usage of words leads to a great speech instead of a very well written speech in English. After all it’s the

impact on the audience that really matters in effective communication. READING HABIT One should have a good reading habit to rapidly increase your communication, because reading different king of topics and genres make us aware of the sentences that uses various words and figure of speeches and we can also have a common platform of words which we can adapt in our common communication style, which further reduces our margin of error in speaking English and the usage of grammar, because as we are the artificial speaker of this language (non- native) we may not realise what the error we had done or spoken in whatever we speak. Reading is always healthy, a habit also strongly recommended by doctors and other health critics and we should read what we like, explore new topics, new dimensions that will give us a new approach and familiarization with the new terminology and the different aspects of real time experiences and application specific things that we would never had been aware of , it’s like having knowledge of an phenomenon without actually visiting that phenomena , though it doesn’t mean that you will learn a to ride a bicycle by reading a “how to ride manual”. You cannot learn a physical phenomenon by reading it; you should have a practical done before if you really want to ride a bicycle. These are different things with different outlook towards various situations. One should be very clear about his motives of learning any language and ultimately the outcome he will have after understanding that language, we should invest our time and energy in sharp work rather doing hard work. A horse pays while a donkey brays.

But a leader cannot be a leader mere because of his image, but there are various things on which the life of a leader in politics depends, and what significantly distinguishes Modi from others is his style, his outlook towards business, he has proved himself as a man of development, one who can strictly follow guidelines and implement them, one who can take agile decisions quickly and give importance to the matters that really requires immediate attention. He believes in business oriented governance, a government that stands hand in hand with the entrepreneurs and open its arms fully fledged for the essential clearances and support without delay to progress the development engine of the state and most probably in future of the country.

EDUCATION CONNECT

Value of Education

1. Education: The Meaning very person should understand the meaning of education in day to day life. Education is such a learning experience that continues for a life period and is acquired through reading, observation or accidents affecting a person with certain behavioral changes in them. While culture, in an easy term, can be defined as all the cumulative experiences & achievements inherited from preceding generations by the succeeding ones, education can simply be explained as the structured process of passing it on. Meaning of education is not limited to being able to read, write, draw or perform a specific function but is wide spread to imagination and vision of achieving great feats.

E

The Value The value of education cannot be measured in terms of money or substance. It can only be determined by its quality and the respectability awarded to the person possessing it. A person, who is educated well, will be able to distinguish things on merit by forming an exact idea about them, can make observations perfectly and can take wise decisions which all are valuable in 30

the daily life of people. Change in times leads to change in values. Where in ancient ages education was merely limited to knowing how to read, write or express the thoughts, today it is much more than that. Value of education relates directly to the adaptability of a person in a given situation. Road Ahead The education roadmap is a constantly changing and ever evolving phenomenon. It goes on from being rigid to becoming flexible and efficient with the changing times and varying requirements. Today’s world is the world of technology. So, people need to be versed with it. Hence, education in current era is adopting new strategies and techniques of learning and personality development. Tomorrow seems bright with internet and communication technologies supporting the education system exceedingly well. Public is adapting to the latest methodologies by accepting the distance education practices which is the newest buzz about teaching-learning techniques and implements cutting edge technologies at the core of it. 2. Preface to Indian Education: The system of education all over the world goes on changing

EDUCATION CONNECT

from time to time. The teaching & learning styles differ with varying geographies. Education, its level and its development scenario depend mainly upon tradition, culture, structure and the people steering it forth. Anyone studying the evolution of education on the global front can quote the example of educational face-change in India on top of other countries. Coming out of the proven Vedic Techniques of study; which was followed since ages and traditions, moving steadily to meditation based study to adopting through observations, to the Medieval Periods of Mughals and to the modern style of school, college and university structures; the Indian system has gone through several phase transits. 3. Chronology of Indian Education in Brief Pre-British Era Till the time Britishers could arrive in India by establishing “East India Company” in Bengal, Indian Education System had already travelled many routes. Known to be the most erstwhile structure, initiating from a privileged one moving forward to some rigid absurdity only to be considered one of the most corrupt systems today, the arrangement has gone through many changes. It was built, demolished, tormented and restructured many a times. Studying about Pre-British Era clearly presents the picture. Where there was Vedic time when everyone had freedom of study and mainly religious teaching prevailed with Vedas being the source of knowledge, there was socialist, religious, humanistic, legal and communal education in further development of teaching-learning process. Changes occurred in educating practices with proceeding times as followed religions like Christianity, Islamism, Buddhism, Jainism and others around the world. These all had their own set of theories and Indian educationists who think of establishing global unity gave space to the best teachings. However, in the midst of prosperity, brotherliness and harmony, education system derailed and the track was missed. Every ruler, who came to India, had its own set of objectives and molded education system in the fulfillment of those objectives. Many languages came into existence while Sanskrit was the only language earlier. British Times As the track got missed and self oriented approach dominated, Indian education continued to try and find its true meaning. Meanwhile, British ruling happened and the education system became structured. The orderly arrangement was made as schools, colleges and universities established. In between all these reforms, there came the industrial revolution across the world in the 19th century as mechanization started to attract max attention. This desired for a greater emphasis on technical and managerial knowledge. The thing to follow suits was requirement for skilled and trained workers coming out of educational institutions. Some more developments continued. The population increased uncontrollably in India. Need for appropriate work started haunting people. Before the British ruling, Mugals introduced Urdu as the language of instruction whereas British people found it uncomfortable. Hence, English language was made the mode of teaching. All of it counted for a thorough overhauling of the system. Economy was the prime concern of English ruling therefore economy-based education was also introduced. Although, mannerism and moral values still

iConnect

remained significant yet the care given to them got lessen. Post Independence After Independence, the face of education in India is said to have deformed. Cheats and Frauds crept up and value degraded. It no more remained as respected and regarded on the world screen as it used to be in the ancient times. Western culture took over the reins and Indian domination was nonexistent. Capitalists started governing the holy field of study. This all started breaking the rhythm of study system. Visionaries still leading the education sector are outnumbered. 4. Indian Education at Present What to Consider Now Now that the charm is gone and the sheen has evaded, there are so many things that demand care and attention. Government structures have not been proper to sufficiently meet the exacting requirement of today. Industry and the population of country are growing endlessly. Skilled labor is the need of the hour. Quality higher education is required. Youth needs to be trained to fit the scale of industry. Value based study must follow. Harmony and honesty must be imparted into the minds of youth so that globalization, the modern form of global brotherliness and prosperity, could be realized. The consideration should be prompted on today’s younger population, today’s science and technical education and today’s industrial labor wants. Where to Focus Today The focus of education keeps on shifting with respect to the then requirements of public and the respective demands of time. From during the time of Vedas to the present time of economy and advancing technology, the world has transformed quite a bit. The focus on religious and mythical practices, predominant in the times gone by, has now vanished as it shifted on scientific research and technical upgrades. As the core focus diverted from socialist studies to individual uplifting, it has now become pronouncing that teaching and learning is flamed with proper assessment and evaluation enabling a person to know the areas of improvement where one can concentrate to fit the correct standards. More than maintaining course material as the prime focus it is required that proper practical training and understanding is emphasized in present scenario. 5. Education Finally Education means consistent and continuous growth of a personality which is achieved through proper assessment and evaluation techniques. This needs setting up of well-structured standards so that every individual can be rated properly. The whole system requires redesigning as there is a lot of difference of living between rural population and the urban one in our country. People must be empowered to correct the systems. The voice of public must be heard. The consistency needs to be maintained overall and the citizens should be considered as human beings not any of the living creatures. The government must help them in all respects. Everyone should be treated as equal without differentiating them in color and caste. Humanity must prevail and the unity in the world should be established. This is possible only if each and every person around the world is well educated.

IT CONNECT

Networks and Security : Emerging Field the multi-million dollar industry with unleashing opportunities and prosperous future, this industry is called IT hardware, or commonly NETWORKING. Networks and network security is basically all the works related to the hardware capabilities and optimization of the resources in place for bandwidth infrastructure and capacity management. WHAT Is NETWORkING FIELD? Now, you will be wondering what this is all about, and in case it is that much big industry, why I haven’t put attention to it before. The reason behind this non familiarization is simply absence of local players. In a country like India, this field is still in its initial stage, marked as a secondary industry outsourcing support, which comes after primary Software engineering, in which Indians are the pioneers and masters in the world. However networking has various big players like Aricent, CISCO, HP, IBM etc. but when you talk about Indian markets, this field is played by HCL, WIPRO TCS and somewhat INFOSYS only, In short words, and this networking field is invariably not at all engrained in the social fabric of Indian IT markets and companies. Small companies do not invest in this field due to lack of skilled employees in this field, because it requires knowledge and technical expertise of the TCP, OSI model and moreover certifications like CCNA (cisco certified network administrator) and many more. Also, they do not get projects specifically for maintaining network infrastructure for any big company because they consider them immature to handle such a vital responsibility.

N

etworking is a kind of field that has always grown like algae in the shadow of big trees of programmers and software engineers. IT and ITes are the most promising and high end revenue generating fields both for the companies and for the employees, because, as these are very new kind of business, thus they beholds the world class infrastructure, new and very big players and is mostly handled by private and capable enough business magnets because inevitably it is a real time market, the things you do, the algorithms you make, the devices you deploy, all have the impact almost instantaneously. You must have heard enough of the IT software field, jobs in JAVA, SAP, and ERP etc., but here we will detail you about

32

revolutionize the way...

HuGE NO. OF JOBs You will be surprised to know that in India only there is a need of more than 1 lakh networking engineers throughout the nation, with all the above mentioned big IT giants trying to uphold the vast market of Asian subcontinent with the cheapest and most skillful labor available in the world. Indians especially have an upper hand in this scenario because of deep presence of the aboriginal companies that deal with networking field in the country. Also, every company that has a standard infrastructure will definitely require a datacenter, and the datacenter will have all the networking requirements and eventually skilled labor requirements for the same. Thus if you are in the networking field or having the required skills and knowledge of network layers and their working and topologies then there is an ever increasing demand for you as a professional network administrator. NEED FOR NETWORk sECuRITY When windows are bigger than the doors!! Networks especially internet is though, on one hand a vast reservoir of knowledge and ubiquitous information but at the same time it is quite vulnerable, vulnerable to hackers, who monitor the companies networks continuously to find the flaws in the network

IT CONNECT to gain some data, leak information, compromise their systems and, in worst case make the servers or website down which is known as in the technical terms as Denial-of-service. Banks and other financial establishments which have critical online financial transactions and data transfers via wire transfer especially hire specialized people to make their networks secure and safe from the prying eyes of the hackers. Thus, every firm or organization that works will need network engineers to design and implement the most secure networks and save their systems and servers from being compromised. In the European countries like Germany, Norway etc. network engineers are in a very shortfall, there is a huge requirement of these skill sets thus they export professionals from south east Asia , mostly from Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines . WHAT Is NEEDED OF A NETWORk PROFEssIONAL Engineers especially B.Tech people have an upper hand in this kind of jobs because they require precise technical expertise at every stage , however recent trends show people from even nonscientific background preferring to take up this field and also doing good by taking basic training courses for the basic knowledge and techniques required for networking .

From The data shared by Bureau of Labor Statistics , a million new information technology job opportunities, with a lion’s share of such new opportunities related to security, information and network security is in the pipeline with most of them already gearing up as the small players also joining up the bigger once to leverage this market’s competitiveness. “The recent spate of high-profile attacks against companies and organizations such as Google, Sony, RSA-Lockheed Martin, International Monetary Fund and others has brought concerns of information systems security to center stage. New developments such as mobile and cloud computing bring forth further fresh challenges. Even network security is of critical importance to a firm in order to ensure the robustness of the system, ensure data security, and legal compliance.” As quoted from the critics point of view. Nothing is rocket science until you make up your mind to do it, you can always have, an overview and a different outlook towards various things in the most suitable manner to you and once you have reached the threshold where you think that yes this is the most interesting thing I have done in your life, than it hardly matters what you have studied in the past, this is the magic of computer world, this the charisma of IT field, welcome to the world of networks.

JNu: Violating uGC Guidelines J

odhpur University, a university that assumes to follow UGC guidelines is opening its various whereabouts by the name of “national Co-coordinators” in different cities. By national coordinators they mean they these study centers will provide information about the various courses of the university and also enlighten the students with assistance about whatever “tailor made” degrees they want, but neither a regular class is run in these centers nor do they comply with any of the norms of the standing body aforesaid. These so called national coordinators are working offcampus (outside the official premises, Jodhpur) which is not an official guideline of UGC, BCI (Bar council of India), AICTE, DCI & PCI. So with whose guidelines are these study centers working, why are such reputed government institutes totally blind on this type of activities, why they do not care for the future of thousands of students who will eventually enroll via these study centers. As a consequence, no company or firm will hire or consider their degrees, as valid and thus no employment will be entertained, then the students will be at rage, matter will reach the ears of these govt. institutes, and in a haphazard situation these centers, degrees and eventually the university affiliation will all stand null and void with immediate effect, exactly same as it happened with the CMJ university, and thousands of students were orphaned immediately by the government. What a sarcastic way to act!!

some of the examples. Recently, an institutionin the national capital region of Delhi was found making claims of being JNU (Jodhpur National University) study center. This was something for the astonishment of all, as the JNU chancellor Kamal Mehtadenies from having any of the university operations based outside the Jodhpur city. A chartered accountant by profession, Mr. Mehta said in his statement, “JNU has been working in the city of Jodhpur to promote educational enrichment in the youth belonging to the sun-city, since its inception. We don’t have any study/ examination center outside the city.” He further remarked about the university’s plans to achieve global status by taking one step forward at a time.“For the time being, we have kept all our focuson empowering young brains from Jodhpur with excellent form of education, without wandering between places. We have the aim of distributing knowledge all across the globe, crossing all bounds, but for now, we have total focus on creating a niche place of our own within the sun-city only,” Mehta maintained. In his reply to the question whether there is any study/ examination/ admission center of the university in other state India, the chancellor said, “JNU does not have any center in other state or anywhere else in India, except Jodhpur. We don’t authorize an institution outside the sun-city for taking admission or to conduct classes. Ours is a limited range wherein we want perfection in our system. Unless, we have reached that goal, we don’t want to expand or enlarge our circle.” From chancellor’s statements it is clear that the university does not have any center in India or even in Rajasthan, apart from Jodhpur city. If any institution is making such claims of being the center of Jodhpur National University, it would be deemed as invalid. The university chancellor refused from having any association with a center in the national capital territory of Delhi.

he Rural Institute of Open Schooling was registered to (C-12, Ground Floor, Aruna Park, Near Vikas Marg Laxmi Nagar, Delhi-110092) provide professional services to the government and other agencies in the field of education, in general, and school education, in particular, for the development and growth of distance and open school system and develop appropriate curriculum for vocational and continuing education to prepare student population for the world of work. Now as per the letter that iConnect received from ministry of HRD, RIOS stands nowhere as a board in the recognized board list entitled to provide education certificates for 10th and 12th class. RIOS on its website has mentioned a link for MHRD, but that link takes you to the official HRD website but nowhere provides you a proof that it has an affiliation from the Ministry .But just merely sending us an letter does not relieve the HRD from their responsibility, if they are replying to a letter they must also look and investigate and fine out the ground level about this RIOS board and should have taken a step voluntarily to check the veracity of this institute. When iConnect tried to approach Commissioner of Police, Crime cell (DELHI) on this RIOS case he straight away initiated a step and vested this matter on the DCP DELHI, who immediately understood the severity of the matter and assigned a Sub-Inspector of Vigilance, named Mr. Younis, who was adamant for a written application against “RIOS” and “TAKE Distance education” otherwise they will investigate this issue on their own level. May be there are various reasons that made him not to take any step for next month , or even the 36

day this news was published , aforesaid DCP does not provide any media bytes or ready reckoner or clarification about this information that we had provided , when we tried to capture them on media they refused to face the camera. We need to change, government has to look into this matter seriously after all it is the future of the country is at stake and we have to look and think very carefully about the future of our youth as whole, what will be their future, who will decide their career path and the potential that can be utilized with full optimization. In a country like ours where police does not act on time, mostly due to various pressures and may be interests. The RIOS is headquartered in a small block in the Laxmi Nagar area of East Delhi. The matter is also in the knowledge of the Delhi police, but they have not taken it into consideration while they boast of being alert 24x7. If the people in public-service and protection do not have any accountability of what all is going on, who else can be held responsible for all the mishaps that happen every now and then? There is a lot of hue and cry about various other subjects but no one is there to think about the future and career of students. So as a jist of all the things said above RIOS is a board with no proven govt. association and affiliations is providing all the courses and authorizes itself as a board of education. Now what the people can do about it, how they would make out what is real and what is fake when everyone is pretending to be the real one, the biggest godfather one can have at that moment , and then they will really “make you an offer , which you can’t refuse”.

FIR against Global Open university’s Chancellor : Punjab Police Patiala | ICNT correspondence ne more education scam in Punjab that Global Open University was running and allegedly providing illegal and illegitimate courses in its campus and also throughout the country by providing tailor made courses and also providing short term MBA programs, chancellor main culprit Mr Priyaranjan Trivedi was arrested and taken into custody by the Punjab police on Friday by special cell of Patiala Police (Central investigation Agency), headed by Mr Hardayal Singh (SSP) , Punjab police acted on the reaction to FIR no.281/20/sep2013. He was also alleged to have been to Punjab to promulgate his so called education program and to capture the student lobby by providing some so called “easy courses. The Global Open University, Nagaland (A State University established by the Government of Nagaland) has been legislated by the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly under The Global Open University Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006) which received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on 30th August 2006 and was notified vide Notification number Law/Act-10/2006 on 18th September 2006. The provisions of The Global Open University Act 2006 were published in the Nagaland Official Gazette on 18th September 2006 for general information. The serious charges that were put up on the University as conveyed to iConnect by SSP were under the IPC act of 420, 406, 460 and 471. Students were given false commitments and were deceived on every step of their education. UGC the apex body responsible for providing its recognition and accreditation was again questioned after a series of such fraudulent universities are being surfaced out, UGC a responsible government body has full responsibility and is answerable for the future of students and degrees that were offered by such universities.

UGC need to maintain and foresee the future of students and maintain the ground level examination and prepare a report for each and every university that works across the nation. It is not as easy as it looks , when you grant any institute with a recognition of university , you are providing it a license to take under its aegis the future of thousands of students , who were give the important years of their budding career to impoverish their skills and study hard enough to attain good positions. What will happen to their careers, what if their degrees stand null and void after all these years of continuous struggle and hard work. UGC and other such govt. institutes when questioned and revealed facts and scams of such universities, immediately set up committees that will examine and make out the decaying condition of education system in these universities , and will straight away cancel their recognition and thus the degrees of all students. So the government has to open the way they used to work till now and proactively monitor the activities of such universities in order to promulgate the real meaning of education, such that the fruit of education is not wasted but may bear a seed.
