Our EYITT Curriculum
We provide a broad and balanced EYITT Curriculum that is rigorous and ambitious, providing opportunities for trainees to reflect critically and to acquire a knowledge of:
Practitioner health and wellbeing
Evaluative and reflective planning
Evidence informed
Substantive EYFS knowledge
Knowledge of how children learn and develop
Supporting SEND
Creating enabling environments
Children’s progress and assessment
Leading practice
Promoting inclusion and diversity
Phonics knowledge
Maths knowledge
Our curriculum is created using twelve key components, each of which fit together to provide a comprehensive introduction to the core body of knowledge, skills and behaviours that define great Early Years teaching.
Our EYITT Programme
Ours is a personalised programme, starting with an initial needs assessment to determine your experience and knowledge of the EYFS. This becomes the basis of an action plan for your journey through the course, towards mastery of the EYITT curriculum and meeting the Early Years Teachers’ Standards.
e-Qualitas Early Years Tutor
At the start of the programme, your e-Qualitas Early Years tutor will develop and work with you to put in place your personalised training plan.
As well as twelve online training days, you will meet your tutor regularly through our dedicated EYTS portal and Teams, for one-to-one coaching and mentoring tutorials, tutor led group discussions and subject knowledge workshops.
Key Colleague
In your setting, one of your colleagues will take the role of Key Colleague. Together you will work on your targets, discuss your teaching and have a virtual meeting each half term with your tutor to review and decide next steps.
Applying for the EYTS Programme
To apply, visit e-Qualitas.co.uk/EYITT which takes you to the application page of our website.
There you can complete the online form to request a phone call with our EYTS specialist team. Following the phone call, we will send you an application information pack for you and your setting to complete.
You will be invited to an interview with our EYITT team to discuss your suitability for the programme. After a successful interview, you will receive a provisional offer detailing the supporting application documents required for you to progress to conditional offer stage. Your Key Colleague will then be invited to a meeting with the EYITT team to discuss their role within the programme, (if they were not able to join the previous suitability interview).
Once this process is complete, you will then be confirmed for either our January or September cohort, (the cohort offered will be detailed in your provisional offer). Please feel free to contact our Early Years ITT team by using the details below for more information:
