The invasions of Portugal (during the period of the Great Navigations and Imperialism) and Indonesia (during the period of the Cold War1) had different results in the Timorese society. One of these results materializing in the current educational context. To understand the educational context during the Portuguese domain, Silva (2012, p.1) presents an interview conducted by Bill Nicol with the Revolutionary Front of Independent Timor-Leste FRETILIN2 leader Roque Rodrigues.
