This portfolio is a collection of selected projects completed in recent years. The works featured are a combination of designs generated from my Academic studios and Professional career. Personal entries into student design competitions highlighted are characteristic of my leadership and fascination towards the industry outside the classroom and office. The selected projects demonstrate my sensitivities towards cultural, environmental, and physical realms in both urban and suburban developments.

was the site selected for my first year studio. The site is defined by the dramatic elevation change from the top of the hill where Carlton St. ends and the bottom where dog owners and baseball leagues spend most of their summers. Prior to, the site was serviced by a arduous staircase and service path that did not link with other paths. To resolve this, I sought a creative method to implement a public infrastructure project that will service the park and also the community centre that I intend to introduce. The end result is a magnificent cut in the landscape that reveals functional community utilities and also provides a viable mode of circulation from the top of the hill to the active spaces below.

The community centre not only serves as spaces where that members of the community can utilize, it also compliments the public elevator. Even though the building is entirely underground, glass curtain walls help to bring natural light indoors.

A shadow analysis of the site reveals that due to the positioning of the building, the building still receives sufficient sunlight. Coupled with the reflecting pond, more natural light will penetrate the building and help illuminate its spaces and consequently reduce the energy consumption from lighting.

A simple exercise to explore how introducing folds can produce rigidity has led to the design of this built form. It is comprised of simple folds. The compression forces of stacking this shape allows the floors to counter balance and hold itself in place. The pattern is then repeated to introduce a facade that envelopes parts of the form. The indistinguishable interior/exterior spaces are due to the folds that produce the form.

Although no program was given, I believe the form lends itself to multi-purpose convention centres that are suitable for hosting special events of evening galas. The interior and exterior spaces are not defined and thus allow the users to circulate from floor to floor with ease and comfort.

Visual Communications exploration exercise to develop a built form to become a Toronto International Film Festival venue. Arbitrary floor slabs were provided and students were asked to place the building in a specified site and connect the floor plates in the manner they see fit. This is my creation.

The theme of REHAB extends beyond remediating the river. The â&#x20AC;&#x153;HABâ&#x20AC;? in REHAB also reminds us of the habitats that are essential to sustain life for all species. Animals, birds, fish and even humans need to live sustainably and responsibly. This is why our design focuses on showcasing green design, technologies and restoring the intrinsic natural heritage .

Oxygen treepods In the distance, the O-trees (oxygen treepods) populate the urban square and users can play or exercise on the trunks to help generate kinetic energy. This energy is captured as the see-saws and exercise machines are being actively used. The trees will store the kinetic energy in its capacitors and use it to power its LED lights in the evening to reveal a spectacular show.

The active process of absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and releasing oxygen is 100x more efficient than using a natural tree. Education All the efforts in the habitat islands and O-trees are a part of an education program to remind residents of the community to be environmentally responsible and hold stewardship to their community.

GREEN ROOF on lab The roof of the water quality and habitat research lab is an accessible green roof. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s unique design over looks the new urban oasis park and the habitat islands along the river. The roof spans from Norfolk street and allows pedestrians to penetrate the park and reach the lower grade walkways and bike paths of the park.
