Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

We organized a local MW in December, a mountain retreat to the nearby area of Eifel National Park, 12 members participated in this event and had a blast during the weekend. We organized the EESTech Challenge 2022 Aachen Local Round, a 4-day Hackathon where 24 participants assembled in 8 teams worked on the problem proposed by our partner Infineon Technologies AG.

Mandate summary

The last year of LC Aachen focused on resurging from the effects of the corona pandemic, which were slow to return to normality, specially in Germany. In this sense, our most important activities have been our recruiting events and regular meetings.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We are looking forward to strengthen the number of members in LC Aachen and to drive further the development of Region 3.

Situation of the branch

We have almost 70 active members and some more that are participating but not that active. We believe our strong point is our members, meaning we have a lot of new members coming every mandate looking forward to meeting EESTEC culture. This makes our events a lot easier for us and creates a huge EESTEC family, which we love having and growing. As of weak point, we can say that we may change our internal team meeting structure a bit and turn it into a more beneficial version.

As LC Ankara we organised CRedit 3.0 & Money Heist: After CRedit IMW.

Mandate summary

We’re happy to finally having the chance to organise a live event, of course, like every event we had our problematic parts, but we do believe it’ll get a lot better in this upcoming mandate now that we believe we’ve adapted to after-COVID situation. We can’t wait to organise more events, host and have loads of fun with EESTECers all around the Europe!

What expectations do you have for your branch?

In LC Ankara, as each year, we’re trying to increase the number of people in EESTEC family and create an atmosphere in which our members feel comfortable and have fun. So, this is something we’d love to continue. Along with this local aim, internationally we’d love to increase the number of BATCAMs from our local branch, organise more international events and meet a lot of EESTECers!

This year we had a lot of new members at LC Aveiro, triplicating the number of our members. They are very active and motivated to organize new events and to participate in international events. We will continue to participate in the EESTech Challenge for the next years for sure. We are very proud to have organised a Motivational Weekend, in which we had a lot of fun in Serra da Freita with playful activities and training sessions about Group Dynamics and Teamwork. This event was a welcome reception to new members, and also an opportunity to meet some members of LC Porto

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We expect that LC Aveiro continues to grow and become a stronger LC capable of organizing internationals events and have more members at international teams and leadership positions. We also see our members attending a lot of international events and feeling the true EESTEC spirit.

LC Eskisehir

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

We organized the 8th Design Sprint in this mandate. 14 offical participants and 1 unofficial participant were there, coming from 8 different countries. Also before the 8th Design Sprint, we organized the IMW - Unicorns in Wonderland. 36 participants attended the event.

Mandate summary

While returning to alive after the pandemic, we had difficulties at first due to uncertainties. However, with the opening of the schools, we have achieved very good progress in terms of manpower, reaching more members than we expected. At the end of the term, we left more members than in previous years. During this mandate, we also held many good events locally. Our hosting of the International 8th Design Sprint created great international awareness for our members as well.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We hope to be more active internationally and bring new ideas to EESTEC. We believe that this will happen in the coming years.

LC Istanbul

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

We have organized many local events which included 2 local fairs, 2 SSAs, a Motivational Weekend for our new members, a local board simulation for our active members to prepare them for board applications, a workshop focusing on Start-Ups, another workshop about Darkweb, Speaking Clubs and many parties! Majority of our active members participated in all of these events, and after organizing each of these we felt like our efforts payed off as our bond with our members grew stronger all the time. We have also organized 2 international events: GTA: Game Technologies Academy Workshop and the Malibu Club IMW. There were 14 participants in our Workshop and 28 participants in our IMW. It was such an amazing week for us to host such wonderful participants and spend lovely time with them!

Mandate summary

This mandate has been very special for all of us, as we were returning back to live conditions and had the chance to experience it to the fullest. We have started the mandate with full motivation and are ending it with the same feeling! There have been many milestones for us this year, most important one being our international event, Game Technologies Academy Workshop. We have made unforgettable memories with our participants and bonded with all of them so much that our chat is still alive to this day.

Another important event for us was Uni-Day, one of our local fairs which unites students with companies that offer opportunities to study abroad. This was our first live event this year, and it was the first event we had with our new members being involved in the organization of, so it had great impact on the future of our branch.

Having one D-SSA and one SSA was also very important to us as there has been no live ones since Corona. We had the chance to spread the training culture more within our branch and contribute to the self-development of our members.

Last but not least, our biggest local fair IoT Line Fair’22 also had a memorable place in this mandate, we had a team of 25 people working on this event whose efforts turned into great success. At the end of our event, we felt so proud and even more united after seeing our teamwork and spirit working out this nicely!

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We expect our branch to continue growing and sharing the EESTEC Spirit with all EESTECers, and sustain our motto #lcistanbulrocks!

LC Krakow

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

During this mandate, we have organised our annual events: 12th SSA and 6th edition of Hacknarök (local hackathon). Both turned out to be great successes and attracted a lot of attention. The interest among the participants was equally great, and the possibility of organising them live was a big boost of motivation for our committee.

Moreover, we were able to organise a new event called AleWarsztaty in cooperation with Allegro, which combined both hard and soft skill sessions. In addition in a couple of weeks, the Handle IoT will come back to Kraków, and for 4 days in collaboration with ASSA ABLOY & HID Global we will allow students to improve themselves in the field of IoT Technologies and meet our members and EESTEC in general. In July, LC Krakow will be holding the 14th T4T and Midsummer Fireflies’ Night IMW after it.

Mandate summary

This mandate has been challenging for our committee - we were trying to integrate our pre-pandemic members with ones that joined Association during the pandemic times. Adapting to a new reality has been demanding for all of us, however, we were more than happy with the outcomes of our recruitments and with the number of new, motivated people that joined our branch. To give them as many occasions as possible we had 2 MWs, 2 Mentoring Systems, Christmas Eve, Alumni Day, and EESTEC Hour. Apart from integration, we focused on improving the working of teams and structuring the KT. We manage to put into our timeline 2 big local events: SSA and Hacnarok, 2 smaller ones - AleWarsztaty and HIoT, and an operational event - T4T with IMW. In November one of the Boardies withdrew from his position.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We expect it to continuously grow and expand and remain a relevant branch inside our Assosciation. We wish to maintain a sustainable and conducive environment for our members to safely develop themselves.

Situation of the branch

We have around 120 members, out of which only around 50 are active. However this number changes throughout the year. Our strongest points is probably the reach we have on our faculty: almost every student has heard of our association, every year we are the association which gets more new members, and our university provides us with a wide office for us to keep our stuff and use to study, work, etc. On the other hand, one of our problems is the knowledge lost in the generational gap caused by COVID, while we also lack experienced members on fundraising so money is usually a problem. We are currently trying to tacke these problems one step at a time but it will require work

LC Madrid

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

We organized a 4.0 Industry Workshop this mandate, from the 18th until the 22nd of April. There were 18 participants, and the experience was amazing. It was the first time since 2019 we organized an event, so there was a huge generational and knowledge gap. Still, we managed to pull it through. We believe this event managed to motivate a lot of new members to become more involved in the association, and also provided a good ammount of experience for future events. We also organised a SSA with 5 international trainers from the 29 of March until the 6th of April

Mandate summary

This year has been a challenging one. We faced a mandate with a Board where all but 1 member had never lived a local event and only had 6 months of live experience, since our faculty closed during the pandemic. We began our year with our office closed, but still managed to do a good recruiting by organising 3 days of activities with new students at the faculty and managed to get around 60 new members. We also organised some bonding activities between members and created a very nice environment in our association. While organising the Workshop we faced also lots of problems: lack of experience in fundraising to find speakers for the sessions, absence of a guide/document that helped us overcome the knowledge gap the pandemic had created... still, we managed to pull through the event and the outcome was quite nice. Participants were very happy with the event and it was a great experience for all.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We intend to become more internationally involved by trying to engage more of our members in EESTEC activities and events, solve the problem of the knowledge gap by creating documents summarizing the process for organising an event and the instructions for each position to make the work easier for newer generations in case anything happens. Another one of our prioritys is creating a strong fundraising to give us the financial backing and support we need to have more potential

LC Milan

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

We have previously organised a local soft skills session in December called skilling me softly. We had three trainers from the international team including one alumni from our Branch. We had roughly 25 participants.

Mandate summary

This year, Milan hosted the EESTEC Challenge Final Round. And it has been an absolute pleasure meeting all the participants from different countries. The dimension of such an event was as honourable as much of a challenge with fund and resources management to pull it off successfully.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

In the post pandemic era, the aim was to restablish the EESTEC spirit in our association. We expect to hold more soft skills and hard skills sessions in the future to facilitate our members in order to integrate these skills in their careers ahead.

LC Niš

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

So far, we had 2 big events organized during our mandate, as well as many local ones. We had the EESTech Challenge Local Round on the 3rd of March, with 4 teams of 3 members each. The second one was the Soft Skills Academy, held from the 13th to the 15th of May, with 26 participants, 5 lecturers, and great topics.

Mandate summary

Our mandate started just before the EESTech Challenge Local Round, so it was our first event. Then we organized the Soft Skills Academy very successfully. Currently, we are planning other events until the end of the year, both local and international.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We expect to grow after the Corona times. We are currently in the process of securing a couple of annual partnerships, and our local presence is really taking off and beginning to grow at a steady rate, so we are expecting expansion of our branch, growth, and a lot of progress in all fields of our work as a local committee.

During this mandate we organised the Above The Fold: Web Design Workshop and the Above The Fold: IMW that took place in Kotor, Montenegro.

Mandate summary

We also organised: Infinite Loop Hackhaton, Job Fair, 3D Room, CV and LinkedIn workshops, SSA. We had good participation numbers and feedback. Our financial situation is stable, considering the economy state in Montenegro.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

Hopefully a little better internationaly.

LC Saint Petersburg

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

We organized the Science PowerPoint Party (SPPP) 3 times this year.

It started when we organized a PowerPoint Party in the branch as a part of a motivational weekend. After that we decided to modify this format into an informative and still funny event. Just like that we created and organized an event where students and graduates talk about complicated scientific things in a simple way. About 3040 people took part in each SPPP.

We were also preparing to organize EESTech Challenge Local Round and SSA, but due to several reasons, we could not find a general partners and were forced to cancel our plans.

Mandate summary

The year started with the September 1st festival where we prepared some games for new students and introduced EESTEC to them. We have recruited quite a lot of new members and tried to involve them in the work. Unfortunately, plans to organize SSA and EESTech Challenge had to be canceled.

Throughout the year we created an Academic Team and arranged a Grant team. We organized a Speaking club six times, created a KPI system, modified feedback and new members training systems, and created an internal website. We organized a motivational weekend with a theme “Corporate party”, took part in several grant competitions and won one to organize the EESTech Challenge local round next year.

The most difficult part of the mandate was to register the branch and organisation in the university. We needed to create our charter and present it to the committee and make some changes in our documents to stay present as a branch. Fortunately, we completed this work.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We will try to become more stable at the local level, but at the same time not to lose and strengthen international ties.

We have to update the view on the values and path of community members so as not to lose relevance for students.

LC Skopje

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

The biggest event that we were focusing during our mandate were the academic events. We organized a brand new event called Back 2 Basics - to help first year students with their studies and EESTEC Academy which is a local event with a long tradition. We organized 3 modules of EA and it was the biggest event in our mandate with more than different 60 participants in each module. Organizing EA was pretty easy but exciting.

Organizing B2B was amazing. We had the freedom (and responsibility) of creating a brand new idea, brand new event.

We organized our first local motivational weekend in over 2 years and it was one of the best feelings during our mandate. So many of our EESTECers all in one place, some of them seeing each other for the first time (because of the pandemic). It definitely was the most amazing atmosphere of our mandate.

Mandate summary

This mandate can be summed up as a year with many academic events and fun bonding activities. Overall the whole experience was incredible. It was a time full of improvement, learning and transitioning from online to offline. All while having fun and getting to know eachother better. There where a lot of hours spent on planning, meetings and organising the details of each activity that we had. We had an amazing time doing that and we as board are thrilled that we had motivated members throughout the whole mandate that were always happy and prepared to help. Some of the bigger events that we organised were the 3 modules of EESTEC Academy, the first edition of Back to Basics, Soft Skills Academy and our first after-pandemic motivational weekend.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We plan on filling the following year with many

We expect our branch to further grow. Soon our biggest faculty might go back to being fully offline and that means even more potential members. We expect many new EESTECers to join our LC Skopje family. New live events and activities. And last but not least we are excited about the international event that we get to organise this year.

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

During this mandate no event has been organised by LC Tampere

Mandate summary

Last year was shadowed by the pandemic and unfortunately organizing official event was not possible for us. We had our annual summer gathering called wokshop (we do like puns) at a nice cottage by a lake. We shared nice wok dinner and had cottage edition of sitsit (common student tableparty). Pre-Christmas Sauna event was our other local event end of last year. Where we had christmas snacks from other countries and went to sauna ofc.”

LC Thessaloniki

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

Our Soft Skills Academy was the first live event we had in two years, which helped us to bond as an OC together and boost our EESTEC Spirit, as well as connect with the participants and several members of the Training Team. The event hosted 60 participants from the local student community and 8 EESTEC Trainers. Overall, it was a fruitful experience which inspired us to set high expectations for our next goals.

Then came EESTech Challenge Local Round in April, which hosted 7 academic contributors and more than 100 participants. It was a unique hackathon experience both for us and the most tech-savvy of the local student community and helped many new members receive event organising experience and our branch to strengthen its relationship with the university and grow financially.

Lastly, we organised an International Workshop and the first IMW of our branch in May. The Workshop hosted 12 International EESTECers and the IMW about 50 participating EESTECers in total (locals and non-locals). We cannot even describe how content and emotionally moved we are for these milestones. As participants, we met sooo many other EESTECers from all over Europe, partied really hard and experienced great moments. On the other hand, as an Organising Committee, the organising process was a true test of character, but the feeling of success at the end was very very sweet.

Mandate summary

It was a really loaded, yet refreshing mandate. We hosted a very successful recruitment event that helped our branch grow by more that 50 active and high-EESTEC-Spirited members, thus during the Spring we organized many events, such as our fourth Soft Skills Academy in late March, an EESTech Challenge Local Round in mid April and an International Academic Workshop as well as the first IMW of our branch in early May.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

We expect another successful recruitment, which will help maintain the number of active members as high as necessary to continue organizing local and international events. We also expect a better spread of the events organized in both semesters of the mandate (e.g. a Job fair and some academic events by the end of 2022). We also expect a higher level of engagement in international level in Teams and Projects.

LC Zagreb

Have you organised any sort of event this mandate?

This year we have had five extremely successful local workshops: PLC ( a workshop on Programmable Logic Controllers), WES (Workshop on Embedded Systems), FrontEd (workshop on fullstack web development), IllumiNative (workshop on native mobile application development) and Robots. Back in November, we also organized an international workshop called ChainBrain, based on blockchain technologies, where fifteen participants from various LCs visited Zagreb and listened to lectures on several different blockchain topics. Our local workshops mostly had either 30 or 50 participants. In May we also organized a local Motivational Weekend for 50 of our members.

Mandate summary

Out of all of the events we’ve organized this year, the ones that definitely stand out the most are our local workshops along with WiBoM and HoBoM. Throughout the year, we’ve gained multiple connections with the professors and the administration at our college, and one of our workshops even obtained The Chancellor’s Award.

What expectations do you have for your branch?

In our next term we are aiming to attract even more members, to develop the relations with our college even further and, most of all, to improve our connections to the rest of the neighbouring and other LCs.
