What does this post-graduate program cover? The MSc in Energy Engineering follows a theoretical, hands-on and interdisciplinary approach to the subject, combining social and economic aspects with scientific and technological perspectives. You have the choice of two concentrations:
Petroleum Engineering allows you to specialize in petroleum engineering practices, research, developments, regulations and policies.
Renewable Energy allows you to specialize in and develop solutions for renewable energy technologies (such as solar, wind and biofuels), and energy conservation.

Career opportunities As a graduate of our MSc program, you can look forward to a bright future in a whole host of energy roles and industries, including:
What do you need to apply? • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution, or evidence of a relevant background • A GPA of 2.75 on a scale of 4.00 or 3.75 on a scale of 5, or equivalent • A minimum score of 550 on your TOEFL test, 6 on IELTS, or their equivalent • General Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or STEP (Verbal 154, Quantitative 158) • At least two letters of recommendation • A completed application form, along with a brief statement of purpose • To have successfully passed the placement test and the interview with Effat’s Graduate Studies Admissions Committee. Students who do not fulfill the admission requirements should take our one-year Preparatory Courses for Graduate Program.

What do you need to graduate? You’ll complete a total of 38 credit hours across this 2-year course – 32 hours for your coursework and 6 for your thesis. You must also achieve a Grade-Point Average (GPA) of 3/4 or above.
